Its so interesting they decided to focus on Saki instead of Tiara, but it makes sense from a story standpoint. We all already know that Tiara is slowly trying to learn to live a life where she isnt weighed down supporting selfish people like Saki. There's not a lot we can expand on that. That makes me super curious who it was she was meeting up in the cafe on the final episode of Artiswitch. What surprised me the most was how sincere Saki's self-reflection was. From the original episode, you would assume that she was somebody who didn't really care about others and is just used to getting what she wanted. But after losing Tiara and looking back on her actions, she realizes what a terrible friend she's been all this time. Tiara's wish didn't just help her realize she was being weighed down by somebody who used her kindness, it also helped Saki realize what she lost and how important Taira really was to her. She knew that for Tiara, a person that she cares about, to fully change she needed to walk a different path and let her grow unhindered by her lingering feelings for Saki.

How is Saki selfish?!? From watching Ep 5, I caught that Tiara was the one who was kind of selfish, wanting Saki to love her and MURDERING her when she lost that!- But Tiara chose to change, and saw her mistakes. (She didn't need to end the friendship THAT way though ToT)

@@allimaleada270 nina's power seems to be that she can show someone what happens if they get their heart's deepest wish. #01 and #02's wishes had no negative consequences, #03's wish only works out if akihiro had an attitude change, #04's wish showed ruru that death isn't what she really wants tiara's wish was to get saki, the fact saki left her was just what would've happened if they did get together in the real world. tiara got to see how selfish saki was and would've been, and cut ties with her before she could get hurt even more

I like that they didn't go the route of a contrived happy ending and had her reject the idea that having an epiphany of how bad she's been means she deserves to have everything go back to normal for her own comfort. Real growth and a realistic outcome.

Honestly, since it's hard to read tone without the line being voiced, there's any number of ways one could read that line be it positive, negative, or somewhere in-between. Personally, I choose to believe it's Saki taking her first step to self-improvement, namely realizing and _admitting_ to her own faults, and I definitely agree that she didn't sound proud or happy, which to me further hints that she'll likely start working towards being less toxic towards the friends she still has. (We can only hope!)

I love how she became self aware of her actions and instead of trying to fix it and do better, the best option was to let the friendship go to find something she also wants for herself. It was an unhealthy friendship that ended it on mutual terms on the end. I wish people could realize and consider this more as an option instead of mending things. Great story telling! Oh god, this is probably the best Picture drama of all. It just feel so right the way Saki acts, and how she understand that SHE IS selfish and let someone she likes go because she knows its better for both of them. "So the best thing for me to do is to stay away from her and fade out of her life."

Holy shit I realized how much I relate to saki. I did some really messed up shit to my friends and they left me. At first, I couldn’t accept it and still tried contacting them, but then over time I came to a realization that I just need to fade away from their life. When saki came to the realization, I teared up a bit.

oh man, this episode really spoke to me. one of my online friends silently blocked me and i was really upset about it since we called each other friends but i realized it was most likely for the best, if they were uncomfortable enough to block me without a message explaining why then it’s probably for their best interest to leave them alone

I actually really loved how this ended. Saki is a more casual person and that's okay as long as she's no longer trying to drag Tiara, someone who needs more deep commitment, along with her. I hope both of them can find better people who match with their needs in the future.

i love this so much! i find it interesting to see another pov by someone. it makes the story make more sense and we can get both sides of it and i'm glad saki is learning from mistakes, it makes me a bit more sorry and happy for both of them to be able to move on!

Saki in the end chose not to be selfish and squeeze her way back into Tiara's life. Even though she had begun looking inward, any attempt at reaching out to Tiara would maybe feel like she's soothing her ego, just looking to apologize to make herself feel better, look good again. Saki could be genuine, she most likely *is* being genuine, but Tiara, having realized her worth and moved on, does not need to accept that apology. That's one of the really important takeaways from holding yourself accountable and apologizing for having wronged someone! How you move after causing harm, and how you hold space now and in the future for those affected say a lot about you. It's great to want to set their mind at rest, to make them feel better, but are you doing it for them or for yourself? Is your pattern really over? How will your change actively, presently benefit the person you hurt? not sure how to tie these thoughts up in a comprehensive little bow so i guess i'm ending it here lmao. i usually prefer the safer Happily Ever After endings but storylines like these are always really refreshing! my comfort and peace is disturbed in exchange for real valuable lessons :D

Personally I read it as not one terrible act so much as taking advantage of the fact Tiara has a crush on her repeatedly to ask her for favors without actually loving her back. The subtitles use the word "dumped" so I'm not sure if they were dating or just friends though. Either way, I think Saki knowingly used her friend's feelings to her advantage. None of the individual asking for favors is the problem so much as why and how she was doing it.
