Me too, Lolita fashion became my special interest even before I knew the name for it. I always loved Victorian era fashions and when I watched anime and saw characters that were inspired by Lolita fashion I fell in love. When I finally learned about the community and the many different kinds of Lolita it made my whole world brighter. I'm so happy to own a few dresses of my own and nothing brings me joy more than wearing Lolita

旧Twitterでるるちゃんの画像を見たことがあって、これなんのアニメなんだろうとずっと思っていたけれど、Artiswitchだったんだ…。 自分はゴスロリが好きでも毎日着ている訳ではないけれど、初めてゴスロリやロリィタを知った時、こんなお洋服があるんだ、私が着たかった洋服はこれだ！と思ったのを思い出したし、世界は嫌いなものだらけだから、せめて自分の周りは好きなもので埋めつくしたいという、るるちゃんの考え方はとても共感できます

0:25 my eyes widened so much... I knew when I saw Ruru's Ghost Food MV that I liked the way she acted and dressed. I look nothing like her and will probably never get to wear such things.. but her outlook on her life struck a cord with me. I don't know either. I don't know what to do with my life, or my future.. Do I deserve the things around me? Employers ask, "Where do I see myself in 5 years?" and after 25+ years of being alive, I never had the answer. I try my best to envision a future with myself in it, but the pictures are so blurry; they're just smudged shapes and bright lights from a distance.. Why...

This made me think about the way i always felt devoid of purpose in my life, and how only the "extraordinary" gave purpose to my life for brief moments, just because it was a discovery, something new, a hedonistic feeling of pleasure. But then, i realized that even the things i achieved in my life, i don't care about them, i don't like them, they are not me, and even though i'm obligued to keep working, and maintain this "life" i have, i would rather just feel my aesthetic dream identity instead. I feel life is a constant struggle of meaning and purpose, but even though you can enter into some philosophy that gives you a rush on motivation, eventually the chaotic existence returns you to this state. Meaningless. Love this show.

I've been a few days thinking about Ruru's episode since I watched this anime in 2022 and rewatched it again last week. I think I finally understood what was Ruru's wish. I think her wish was to force herself to be always happy, even with things she hate. This is a reflection of japanese society, where they don't take care of mental health and illness like depression. This is call toxic positivity.
