Today I transformed boring drab license plates to look like the state they're from with painting and transforming it into something brand new. This was a really fun customization and satisfying thing to do! I love doing custom paintings like this and I felt this was a great way to make the license plate look fun and new.

this is slightly related to the video but if you use the apple pencil with the paper screen protector it wears down a lot on the pencil tip. i was talking about getting the screen protecter with my brother and he told me all about how the roughness wears down on the tip. My brother works a lot with apple products and with electronics in general. This is just a warning though if your ok with using a lot of tips and buying a lot you do you. I just want to let you now before you find it out later. Also i would like to see you do ct

The New York plate from the 00s was beautiful. It had Niagra Falls and was really subtle. At some point they changed it to a mustard yellow and blue monstrosity.

A mustard yellow plate in Ohio is what we call "party plates," they usually mean someone has had multiple drunk driving offenses.

@@ChloeRoseArt I'm from Ohio and some big things in Ohio are the Ohio State Buckeyes which is a popular college football team in Ohio, and cardinals because it's our state bird! And there's the Mississippi river that separates Ohio and Kentucky. Oh and we have the Ohio grassman, which is the same as bigfoot or sasquatch! Ya know, I actually have my old license plates from Ohio that I could give you to paint but I'm not sure how I'd get it to you lol Edit: I accidentally said Mississippi River, but it's the Ohio River! Oops! Idk what I was thinking! 😂

Oh my Lord that gradient when you first started painting is just *chef's kiss* I love how you show us the whole, messy, unglamorous artistic process! It's really inspiring and kind of helps battle that nervousness when I start a new art project.

This video was released and the brushes went for sale while I was at work yesterday. I immediately bought the brushes (and a sticker because I love stickers) when I had a free moment and saved the video for today- because it's my bday and I figured I could treat myself to a good video. I am 100% thrilled with my choice! This was so much fun to watch your creative process for this! The details in the state shape were just amazing!

I'm glad you added the disclaimer. Painted license plates are highly illegal. 😬 Great for decoration though. It's actually an idea for a fantastic project, if you'd be able to get a plate from every state... paint them, zip tie them together, and cherish your tribute to The States. 😊

I was really worried and wondering how it wouldn't be breaking the law too, to paint over the reflective white material of the plate's background.. but we also have a custom plate made for someone's birthday, and this is a cooler version of that!

Gorgeous. Kentucky had one of my favorites before they changed it. It had beautiful mountain scenery with the shape of the state in cloud form over the mountains. I'd love to see what you do with it!

I remember that one! I grew up in Kentucky but sadly had to move (now in Illinois).. I might still have my last Kentucky plate. Could look 4 it if you, Chloe, are interested. Horses, luscious Daniel Boone forest, Abe Lincoln's birth cabin, my Old Kentucky Home. This was fantastic! I really loved the color scheme! You should try and find a plate from each state and paint on things that are unique to each one. I think it would make an incredible wall art piece! You could chain them together in the order in which they became a state!

This was a really cool idea and I love how it turned out! The powers that be should totally commission you to paint license plates! The turquoise was perfect for the lettering. It's pretty and made the letters and numbers easily legible. Awesome work!

The DIsney castle over the letter W is just *chef kiss perfect location for that (not sure if it was intentional but fits). In Brazil as far as I know all the plates are white with black letters/numbers and the state name in smaller letters at the top, nothing special EVER, so it could be fun to make a series like this one with all states but I have no talent or social media to share lol. I remember once when I did watch a TV show about unnusual/strange houses and there was one covered in license plates, it would be cool if this comes up as a series and you make a wall mural of plates (maybe including some overseas/other countries that viewers send you). I would love to see the collection growing!

That short video was from over a year ago unfortunately 😂 I need to keep up with making more but I just don’t understand what makes them work so well for some people, seems like fluke but some people just do so well with them!
