When playing arbiter, Terran wins in late game because of having lots of scans and vessels and upgrades. He wasn't going to be able to prevent split map scenario, and mind had a better army, so it would have been an uphill battle to try to do anything from there. If it was SSL, he wouldn't have gg'ed there, but he still would have probably lost.

At the exact moment he GGed he had an extra healthy base, he'd just pushed Terran back to his side of the map reliving pressure on his own bases, got Mind to cancel his own expansion. I get he still had a long way to go but it was 100% very playable. To me it just seemed he didn't wanna go through the hassle of all that late game and just dipped cause there's no way someone GG'S this game in a tournament setting!

It's anti-metagame at this point. It has some use as a mix-up, but Reaver into Gateway man with speed shuttles and HTs has completely obviated it.

@ Agreed, it seems like Ts are way too good at emp and mine placements for arbiters yield any sort of edge. Landing 2-3 devastating spells with the arbiter is a bit of a hail mary, and without that, it’s just not an effective build at all. Some try to eat scans with dts first but I haven’t seen that really work

No, he was screwed. Terran was going to get split map scenario and 3/2 upgrades with infinite scans. You have to win early with Arbiter rush.

I have a question I can't figure out when it comes to SC -- Why do people choose to do the scout order that they do it in? Like did Mind do an N scout here because of his build order? Where his build might be more punishing to be caught off guard from a closer spawn than a cross spawn? Cuz the game was over. He threw away his army repeatedly for little damage, had no 6th and was mining out, didn't get enough value out of his Arbiters. Terran was about to effectively be maxed and had great defenses lined up. How is he getting the Arbiter inside the base? And even if he does, it gets comfortably cleaned up and he's death pushed.

Not too much. He was just a bit behind so he wussed out. Mind was getting a big tank count and about to split the map, which is bad for Protoss. It's like he was just not feelin it and gave up, not that he actually lost yet.
