Ha! I had one episode left of The Outstanding Artist Season 2 and accidentally spoiled the ending. No worries. Congratulations! Your win was wll-deserved. I hope it boosted your confidence and helped you realize what an amazing artist you are. When you say you are using inks, are you referring to acrylic inks or alcohol inks. I haven’t used inks yet, but want to experiment with them. To the person who made the negative comment about using the projector, doctors didn’t have anesthesia for surgery either, but once they discovered it, they never looked back. Painting is a skill in itself. It's not just coloring. People are buying a painting. There's nothing wrong with not wasting two hours trying to get the porportions right when that tine can be cut down dramatically with a projector. If you want to learn to draw, don't use a projector. But if you are want to create a painting, it is an effective use of time management. Thank you for the video, Asia. Congrats again.🎉

@@milanartapp Really informative process video. But lets be real from the looks of it, she is not that talented. She literally had to trace the photograph. She didn't even do a legitimate hand drawn illustration of the reference model to truly make it her own. She literally traced the photograph. She skipped the main part of the "work" in artwork. The rest is just edge work and smearing painting around a texture. This is stuff high schoolers can do. Now if it sells I am happy for her. That is a different aspect of the game. People buy white canvases with a blue line.

I shy away from painting people. I really like landscapes and animals. Plus I like to write scripture on my mixed media pieces. So far I’m not happy with final results. But I do enjoy the process. Maybe the art is just for me. Idk. I just keep trusting God. 🙏🏻

What an amazing resource. This artist is a huge inspiration. I’m curious if the source/reference was a plain photo or not? I saw her using a closeup that seemed unedited and then a full source that seemed to have a lot of elements in it. I couldn’t tell if she did this herself?

I don’t see them in the video but from what I know of this program it’s likely she’s using acrylic inks such as from F&W, Liquitex, or Amsterdam to name just a few manufacturers of acrylic inks. There are also India inks from Dr Ph Martins but I have no idea if she’s using one or the other or a combination of them. If you search KZbin for acrylic ink tutorials or mixed media tutorials with acrylic inks you’ll get a much better idea of what’s out there. Good luck. 🍀

Well Van Gogh did not have the luxury of a projector but still the imperfection of proportion and scale make the painting is real painting and not just a product of coloring...cheers

How snippy…
@hb41965 ай бұрын
Van Gogh and many artists did/do not, but they had camera lucida (you can still buy them today) during the Renaissance, a device which is a type of projector. There are at least two companies making modern versions that I’ve seen.. Shortcuts are good especially if you are producing on a deadline.
@tracysmith93933 ай бұрын
A lot of artists use projectors to speed up the initial sketch. It's not cheating as they can draw and normally draw the image that there using with the projector. I'm sure van Gogh would use it if he had the chance. Art is personal perspective.
@noorassecretgarden8972 ай бұрын
I feel the same in a way. I mean I don't think it's cheating at all art is not a race with rules. But I noticed how on this channel there is so much emphasis on proportion and drawing not looking "cartoonish" but there are artists like Picasso, Matisse and Van Gogh...if you look at it it's a hot mess imo yet this channel they are mentioned a lot ... But these artists went all against rules and I think that's set them apart from all of them. I feel like majority of artist coming from this institute all look like Dimitra's work a lot...the woman with the animals portrait with lots of collage. Not criticizing Dimitra work at all, I mean she is pretty phenomenal but it makes me question if these artists have truly found their voice or closely copying someone else's work with a few twicks. My comment is not to take away from this artist work she done great it's just that they all have same subjects

Here’s my two cents. If we didn’t see how this artist made her art, and all you could see was the finished piece, would you be saying not impressed? Her art is beautiful, the fact she opened up and showed anyone her process is incredible. I would never in a million years let someone see how I make my art because I’m old and stingy. The “rushy” isn’t relevant when you consider the years and countless hours it takes to get to her level.
