+tyson byzon I was at the Mayweather fight in AC. Just Gatti standing there taking those shots was Horrific. The whole arena was in tears. I was always a Mayweather fan, but being from Philly, I always liked Gatti, but MAN. That fight was Brutal to watch. The worse beating I ever seen. Buddy McGurt said after the fight, Mayweather, That kid is going to be IMPOSSIBEL TO BEAT. He never seen anyone with the skills Mayweather has.....

@MCastle I always think there was two Floyds when I hear people say that, I mean I saw Ali, Leanord and even Naz run laps oh and let’s not forget RJJ, however Floyd used to move probably the last 10-30 seconds of maybe 2-3 rounds, he mainly controlled centre ring even when he was in there with bigger guys and most of the time got them on the ropes, even the times when he should of tan when he got hurt he planted himself at front of his opponent when most fighters would run ;-)

Prince Naseem was the hardest puncher P4P in his time, even now.. He sparred against Heavyweights with no sparring gear whilst training for his big fights, and his sparring partners have all said he punches really hard.. remember this is Prince at 130.. Naseem vs Gatti would of been awesome, both had really good chins (Naz's knockdowns came from balance issues most of the time) and we all know Gatti can take real punishment. I would of favoured Naseem.

Why people all go on cos naz lost 1 fight? 37 fights and lost 1! That's an incredible record to any one who genuinely knows anything about boxing. He unified all three world titles. Again incredible accomplishment. He was an entertainer and always always bought excitement with his fights which is more than I can say about almost all of the boxers that have stepped into the ring in the last 20 years. Naz was mustard

Samuel Brazil he lost his last fight in humiliating fashion, being exposed for not being a high level boxer, literally cried and ran out of the ring and stadium and never came back to fighting again......... just look at how Gatti came back after that absolute fkn nuclear world war 1 with ward, still went into more wars after his loss and became even better and kept fighting until the body started to give out and the losses started to accumulate... even then he only ever got dominated by PRIME dela Hoya and Mayweather AFTER he was at least five years past his prime...... comparing that to Berrera who exposed Naz straight away, I don't even think the weight difference itself gives Gatti the edge his technical boxing, precision, and on top of movement BALANCE most importantly we saw how Berrera just keeping balanced allowed his stiff shots to knock Prince out of orbit...... looking at the shots Gatti has given out on top of the ones he's taken I think even without the weight difference Gatti beats him 10/10 but that's just me....

That Kelly/Naz fight was awesome. Prince showed good heart in that fight. 3x Featherweight Champion of the world. Didn't duck anyone (which is the main problem that people have with fighters these days) and went to Vegas to take on Barerra (which was, pretty much, a home fight for Marco). Can't argue with that.

I liked Naseem but Gatti would have bodied him. Prince was flashier, better at dodging punches and probably had better punch power. But you could have hit Gatti in the head with a mallett and he'd have come back at you. Marco Antonio Barrera schooled Nas. If you're gonna drop your hands and try to dance about the ring you'd better have a strong chin because you'll get caught. Nas' career completely fizzled out. Gatti and Barrera were still top draws for years after.

Naz fought 5 times in USA, an American fighter came to him in England just once!!! You raise some good points and I'll remember him for those things too but also for going over to the USA, telling champion Kevin Kelly he'd give him a job putting his posters up after he beat him, kept him waiting 10 minutes whilst he slowly dance to the ring and then beat him. Nice was wild, didn't even keep his hands up but boy was he a joy to watch compared to most of todays boxers.

I was a big fan of Arturo Gatti. RIP. I think he would have lost to Naseem pretty bad and maybe been KO'd. Gatti was a forward puncher and would also take many shots going in. Yeah Prince fought 3-4 times in the US and he did leave a mark in boxing. But for me, he missed fighting alot of the top competition around his weight class and coming back with that one win against a low tier fighter doesn't mean much. Problem with Naz is most boxing fans and media thought Barerra was his first legit top opponent, and he looked terrible in that fight and never redeemed himself. I will remember him for his punching power, ring entrances and mouth, not the great comp he beat

All boxers call people out on tv to try to look hard but its wether or not they and their managers actually try to make the fight happen. Its a fact that when Naz signed his HBO contract they were unhappy with his choices of opponents and the American boxing fans unlike the British know who's rated and wont settle for easy matches. Its a fact that Naz did'nt want Barrera and HBO threatened to pull his contract unless he fought him.

To all the people who think they know about Boxing you must realise that he was a fighter and a boxer he could adapt to everyone he boxed The prince was good no doubt about that but I think Gatti had too much heart I think Getti would do him rest in peace legend Thunder gatti

Gatti never ducked anyone and fought past his prime Naz fought 1 superstar and retired a little off a year later. In you're illogical thought, anyone with more than 1 loss is inferior to Naz?

Naz would have one in my eyes, his one loss was against an incredibly technical boxer, for which he didn't train well for, gatti an amazing warrior he just isn't technical at all, Naz power was UNREAL watch all the defeated foes of Naz all say about his power.

Are you kidding me. Naseems style would virtually guarantee a Gatti victory. The difference in size was immense. There is a big difference in punching power between their two respective weight classes. Naseem was a great featherweight, but Gatti out grew Naseem.

At that time Hamed wasn't exposed as an amateur by Barrera. Naz wasn't in tough...yet. It would have been entertaining but Hamed was a 2nd rung fighter who probably would get stopped once he moved up. He retired pretty quickly after he stepped up...and was embarrassed.

I never saw Gatti lose to a smaller man. He would walk through Naz's punches and taken 2 or 3 just to get 1 in. That left hook to the body would have caught him eventually. Back then, Gatti had good footwork and extreme durability. I don't mean in terms of cut but stamina. He would have eventually cornered him and landed a bomb to knock him out.

Joe goes down as a 46 and 0 fighter, having held multiple world title belts having fought in 55k capacity crowds at home and in MSG and Vegas. He will be known as a technical boxer and a great one. End of story. Man, most people would die for that career. Put him down all you wish but I disagree. Our fighters take you on over there, yours barely bother. They stay in the comfort zone EVEN when the cash/tickets are on the table.

ibo wbo ibf wbc and lineal champion as well as that he should of had the wba but they stripped vasquaez before fighting hamed. Did I also mention he defended his belt 15 strait times as well as that did you know Barrera was KTFO by junior Jones- A prime undefeated Paul ingle was defeated by hamed in Manchester within 2 bouts Paul Ingle sensationally beat Junior Jones in the US by tko enough said. ALL these 'elite' fighters wanted no part of him in the mid to late 90s. Didnt barrera decline frank warrens multi million dollar offer to fight hamed after he beat tom jhonson??? and juan manuel marquez in 2000 so hamed was forced to fight Vuani Bangu?????

I agree, fighters from both sides rarely go over seas, but IMO Naz will be remembered for assuming the easier fight was Bararra and got schooled, never came back like the real champs do. I did enjoy watching him though which I guess is all that matters, one hell of a puncher for a little guy.

It would have had to have been at super feather where Gatti only lost once I think, Naz was best at feather weight and there's no way Gatti could have made feather weight. If they had fought I think Gatti would have just been much too big and strong for him but who knows.
