Paul - as I told Arturo: Arturo, I can't think of anyone more capable of rendering such a loving tribute to the late, great Oscar Peterson. I was privileges to have spent time listening and learning from OP. He was a dear man and a singular talent. His command of every nuance from every great pianist within the jazz idiom is not unlike yours on trumpet. Clearly, you shared divine ears and a boundless love for the music and its practitioners. You, like Oscar, are a treasure. Gracias, Maesto - from the depths of my heart and soul!

This was recorded in Arturo's living room on Oscar's Bosendorfer grand piano, as given to Arturo by Oscar's widow. Johnny Friday and John Belzaguy made this recording and video all the more memorable for their contributions. They do remind us of Oscar's own trios of times past. This is a remarkable tribute.

Arturo es un genio! That someone who is a world-class trumpeter can also play the piano like that is astounding!! He may be the best "doubler" ever! I expected a nice tribute, but wasn't quite prepared for this tour de force! Bonus points for enjoying Arturo's unabashed joy while playing!
