To be honest, Xbalanque struck a great bargain with Ronova. And it is foolish for the archons or the gods of Teyvat to fear the very idea of borrowing Ronova's power. The current archon quest chapter shows how Mavuika is making the most of this bargain using the Traveller's power as a descender. Death may be the price of using Ronova's power, but all living beings are already fated to die. Soo as long as the Traveller can extend Mavuika's life long enough, the cost is practically negligible. Which is why this power must be kept a secret or if its abused could disrupt the power balance in Teyvat which results to mortal arrogation. Which is why Ronova chose to live in seclusion to avoid lending her powers.

@@SmithyPL well, if its the price to pay for eradicating the abyss from the night kingdom then its actually cheap due to the rules of the Ode of Resurrection. Firstly, the ode only works if the natlanese dies during the night warden war. Secondly, it only works for those with ancient names. The steeper price would be sacrificing the rules of natlan or Ronova's power

I can think of another little glitch that could save Mavuika from death. We know that in 5.3 we (the Traveler and Mavuika) will launch an attack on the Abyss itself, and considering she's telling us the Ode will protect us when we get the Ancient Name, I can safely say Mavuika will declare that attack a Night Warden War. That's the kicker: If Mavuika dies during/after that fight, as price for using Ronova's power, and she makes us the Pyro Archon (even if only temporaly), if we return victorious from that, then we could use the Ode of Resurrection to bring Mavuika back. Cause those are the "rules" of Natlan. What I'm trying to say is this: The "Rule of Death" says that Mavuika must die, and the "rules of Natlan" say that those that die victorious are allowed to resurrect. Mavuika must die, but no one said she HAS to stay dead :D

@@RodrigoLeaf15 Additionally, if the price of using Ronova's powers is the death of the "Pyro Archon", and Mavuika dies in that role before passing it on to us (or Capitano, or whoever else)... Then the "Pyro Archon" has died, but Mavuika, now not the Pyro Archon, can easily be brought back via the Ode of Resurrection as just another Ancient Name Bearer.

I have another interesting theory related to this. Mavuika might use the Power of Ronova to demolish the Pyro Divine Throne just like Focalors. When we, Mavuika and the Traveler, go to the final fight against the abyss, she will purposefully die without choosing the next archon. This means the "Pyro Archon" will permanently remain dead as per the Rule Of Death. However if we emerge victorious, we can simply revive her using her Ancient Name through the Ode Of Resurrection. That way she can still have the memories of the previous archons without becoming an archon again, and can even pass down that knowledge without the baggage of Rule Of Death attached to it. Xbalanque might have set this plan in motion from the beginning, and did what Focalors did: trusting the Sovereign Dragon to keep their civilization alive, while also returning the Elemental Authority to them. In a way, Sacred Flames(or Phlogiston), is a by-product of Pyro Sovereign Dragon's(Xiuhcoatl's) power that Xbalanque got by slaying Xiuhcoatl, and interestingly, died and got "revived from the flames" in the process. I also think Mavuika(or Xbalanque's, who knows) idea of choosing Six Heroes for each tribe is to future proof her plan. Even if the Abyss attacks an Archon-less Natlan in the future, each tribe can simply let their Heroes borrow the power of Ronova and fight the abyss, and if the tribe emerge victorious, they can simply revive their Heroes and maybe can use this "glitch" infinite times until the Abyss is finally killed. And since we know Ronova established The Ode and The Night Kingdom out of her love and "reparation"(we don't know what wrong she did), she might even let them modify the rules a little bit in which her powers are not limited to the "Archon" and "Archon" only, with the help of the Traveler. It might also be possible that all Ancient Name bearers can use Ronova's power in the future, including us, so instead of Power Of Pyro, we might get the Power Of Death, which is infinitely cooler.

As mihoyo is always very careful with their wording choices, I’ll just point some things out as food for thought: The final herrscher in GGZ is the Herrscher of the End, while it was changed in HI3 (just before HSR’s release) to the Herrscher of Finality. The Herrscher of Finality controls the _Cocoon of Finality_ - that which “embraces” civilization - but it has another name according to another civilization: to the Venusians, it is the _Cocoon of the Abyss._ Sa was called “the Abyss of the Sea of Quanta” because She modeled Herself after the Cocoon which She called the Abyss. She also behaved quite a lot like the Abyss of genshin. Now, with confirmation that Kiana, as an extension/controller of the Cocoon, is at the very least an Emanator of Finality (yes, the Finality of HSR), and knowing that mihoyo never chooses their words on accident, we are indirectly being told that Finality = Abyss and vice versa Idk what to do with this information as of right now but I hope someone else will get some ideas

There is a big difference between Honkai and Abyss It's imaginery. Honkai isn't there just to end the world. Honkai/Cocoon is a gardener of Imaginary Tree. That's the main job. When the world becomes a bother to tree by consuming too much energy to mantain it's supposed to be eliminated or cut off to fall into Sea of Quanta where it will be digested But Cocoon does a side project where it gives humanity a second chance Ascend to Finality, evolve to get destroyed. Embrace the Honkai and wield the Imaginery energy

It is probably the main reason why the Abyss attacks Natlan so hard. The Abyss wants the soul or spirit of a being Irminsul rebirths people as memories. You could say that Abyss is the real death

@@AruHiseki The issue is that Skirk and some others do Irminsul excavations and I think they are starting to realise that the Abyss is not an enemy. I have always been bothered that the archons are named after demons. But if you switch the roles it starts making sense. Teyvat is Hell and Abyss is Heaven to simplify it. If they want to go the sinister route Irminsul made Abyss the way it is so that would mean that the tree turned heaven into the fractured mess it is today. It explains a lot of things going on in the game as well as the connection the siblings have to the Abyss that is undeniable. All of this supposedly happened the moment Lumine came to court in Khaenri'ah but the details of how everything comes together is much harder to just theorize. It's possible that Khaenri'ah is a story of a kingdom Lumine lived in, and does not actually exist. If humanity is trapped within a story matters just like the toy soldiers were not affected by it as long as they thought it was real, but that illusion breaks as soon as the fake sky opens. The Natlanese are going to see that the sky is fake, and they are going to spread that around Teyvat this is a HUGE change in this world, and it is going to affect everything going forward.

Not convinced that the Pyro Archons know anything more about Primordial One/Celestials, Dragons and the Abyss more than any of the other Archons who also know about all three groups to some extent. And why is erosion a factor in recording history? It's about people forgetting things when they get thousands of years old. People, not books. Hm. You seem to think that Natlan can borrow the power of Ronova as many times as they like, but I seem to recall Mavuika saying they can only use it once. If they could use it as many times as they like it feels like they'd be undefeatable and never be in the situation they are in.

True.. on the other archons having the same knowledge, but you gotta remember theyre humans, and Natlan as the land of dragons has to have more info than what other archons know. the sacred flame isnt a book yes, but its recorded the knowledge of the land, and given to the pyro archon... And likely no amount of erosion can affect it if its passed down from archon to archon, and stored in that flame. Erosion keeps you from remembering the past, remembering the truth. truth cannot be recorded in books as its affected by Irminsul. Other that artifacts which is rare for normal humans to get already. where else can you read about truths of the past than in books, especially if long lived lives cant remember due to erosion. Paimon: It was so awesome, the way you exploded that thing in the sky with one almighty punch! Are you always gonna have that kind of power from now on? Mavuika: Oh, that was the divine throne unleashing my full potential, and it was only temporary. I can't wield that power for any length of time - my body wouldn't be able to handle it. Using it only once would mean that Mavuika cant use it anymore once we actually fight the root of the abyss in the Night Kingdom, which is the main point where she was supposed to use it on. so those who become archons can use it to a certain amount, again, depending on their potential. Likely, Mavuika will use its full potential in 5.2 or later... where she actually dies XD

@@AruHiseki a great filter is an event, entity, or group that prevents any sort of civilization or other forms of life from advancing too far. The great filter that stopped Khaen'riah was the sustainer of heavenly principles, for example. The meteorite that wiped out all the dinosaurs was the dinos' Great Filter, but that doesn't mean we have proof that dinos were advancing tech-wise... They were advancing gene-wise but it just so happened that they all got wiped by a meteorite hitting Earth before we got to name most places on this planet. If the meteorite never hit, the world wouldn't succumb to an ice age caused by dust from the meteorite, because again, the meteorite didn't hit and subsequently didn't explode into a planet sized smoke bomb.

I am not sure if people missed it I am surprised people do not pick up on details. Capitano is burning after being pierced by Mauvika, but he is a CRYO character. Weird huh, it's because he has the soul of Xbalanque burning inside him, and it's why he came to Natlan in the first place. We have not met Capitano, Capitano is going to be "born" in Natlan when he retrieves his ancient name. So let examine the evidence Mauvika says " I thought I heard something familliar" And than again Capitano himself remarks "You heard something back there, didn't you" The journey Ronova put Xbalanque on made him inhabit Capitanos body when his name was lost in the NIght Kingdom. We already know that the Khaenri'ahns were trapped in Natlan if you do the story quest. I don't think this is under debate there is simply overwhelming evidence. This is masterful storytelling it progresses two stories at the same time with minimal effort. It might be one of the best archon quest Hoyo has produced since the beginning of the game. SImilar to Arlecchino finding her home in Fontaine so will Capitano be forever in debt to Natlan after Mauvika helps him find his ancient name. Capitano came to Natlan prepared to die with Xbalanques soul burning determined to end what he once started. Instead he is going to become the first Harbinger, if Capitano solves the crisis in Natlan he is going to have loyal followers from the nightwind clan, similar to how Arlecchino runs Navias crew behind the scenes. There is a third plotline playing out that people do not seem to pick up on. The Fatui are slowly taking over and gathering followers. It is even possible that Inazumas people are going to turn on Ei because of the vision hunt decree.
