Awesome looking shotgun. I too spent my stimulus check on a turkey shotgun. I purchased the TriStar Viper G2 Turkey with the steady grip stock in .410. I own a couple M2’s for turkey and love the steady grip stocks for turkey. I also love watching all your videos. Keep I’m coming. Thanks Now, go bust that turkey!

Yep gotta love the stimulus check I also used my stimulus to purchase a gun however my was a Stoeger m3000 however I will be swapping out the butt pad for a limb saver and putting a comb raiser pad on to protect my cheek when I fire it. I took my Stoeger out today and tried some 3 inch magnum duck loads Add I felt every bit of those shells it beat The living pisses Out of my left shoulder. So needless to say I will be doing some modifications to my Shot gun

Going to add my 2 cents... Ive owned a stoeger m3000 which i had problems ejecting after around 250rds of hardcore waterfowling. I then had to replace the ejector on the bolt with a benelli m2 part which solved the problem. Sold the gun to a buddy and after being rebuilt works flawlessly. Great gun for the price which you can find on sale for around 400$ with a rebate around the holidays. I then upgraded to a franchi affinity 3.5, fit and finish of that gun is much higher quality than the stoeger. Franchi is much more ergonomic in the hand and more balanced and is flat out a much higher quality and built of better internal components. Still own my franchi and shoot it time to time, then i came across a benelli sbe3 for a steal at a local store that was closing. The benelli is my go to and just fits better than any gun I’ve ever shot before, however the quality between the franchi and the benelli is much more comparable with small noticeable upgrades to the benelli. The difference in quality between the franchi and stoeger is much greater, and you can clearly tell which is cheaper built. Benelli and franchi guns are both made in Italy to much higher specs than the stoeger which is made in turkey. From experience it almost feels like you’re shooting a log with the stoeger it feels much heavier, bulky, and just not as high quality when comparing to the Italian made guns which feel sleek slender and flat out better. The reliability is better from the benelli and franchi in my personal experience as I’ve never had a problem or jam, and i had to rebuild the stoeger after only a case of shells the ejector was worn out. If you have the money buy the franchi, its built better and is much closer to benelli quality out of a more budget friendly shotgun.

Well, you’re giving your experience now let me give you mine. I purchased a Franchi affinity 3 20 gauge At my local gun shop, hunters headquarters in Greenwood South Carolina. I got the gun home and I could not get the forearm to fit against the receiver. I took it back to the place I purchased it the next day and I took it into the back room and said they had had trouble with three other Franchi shotguns. They kept it in the back room a long time and when they brought it back out they said “OK, it’s fixed“. I took the gun back to my farm and shot it about nine times with clay pigeon two and three-quarter inch loads. The forearm once again separated from the receiver. I called a friend of mine who is a Benelli expert and we tried to fix it ourselves. We could not get it to fit correctly always leaving about 1/8 inch gap between the forearm and the receiver. The next day I called Franchi customer service. After giving the gentleman, who was very nice and understanding, the serial number I told him the same story I just gave you. I told him I thought I needed a new forearm and he said “fine, I’ll put you on the list. But, there is a significant back order on the forearms and I cannot tell you when you will get yours.” I wonder why there is a significant back order on the Franchi forearms? I ended up purchasing a Bonelli 20 gauge M2 turkey performance edition. I wish I had not purchased the Franchi Jim Phillips, M.D.

Curious on your opinion a few years later? I have the exact same gun to a T and have missed many groups of ducks because I pull up on em and just get a click, have had it happen many times while shooting trap too, sometimes it’s a light primer strike sometimes it doesn’t hit primer at all, just happened to me again yesterday when patterning turkey loads reassuring me that it will not be in my hands in the turkey woods anymore lol

@@spontaneous1200 You can shoot right handed shotguns left handed. My son did it for years until I bought him a left handed gun. The ejected hulls will not graze your face. However, with dirty burning ammo you will get a small trace of powder/powder residue blowing into your eye. (Something to consider if you wear contacts or on a windy day) Just make sure the safty can be switched from right to left if you choose to shoot a right handed gun as a lefty.

ANY shotgun with a tight enough choke will be a "good" turkey gun. Since shotgun "fit" is the most important aspect for being able to "hit" with it, there is no "good, better, best" because it depends on the person's anatomy. What makes a shotgun "better" than another shotgun is whether or not it is dependable over THOUSANDS of rounds of ammunition. Both Yildiz and Perazzi are both over/under shotguns. Put 30,000 rounds though each one and you'll quickly find which one is "better".
@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Жыл бұрын
Tighter Choke constriction doesn’t make for a better pattern all the time we have patterned over a 100 combos now and that is the biggest fact we have debunked You have to find what each gun likes for both true constriction & loads Also durability is a given for a shotgun but we also look at how picky a setup is with choke/loads that is a big factor
