You've been my guitar hero for long before I found out you have AS, which I have been diagnosed with 3 years ago. We need a "Cracking the Code" episode specifically dedicated to John's right hand technique. He's clearly doing some really complex stuff with precisely when he plants his pinky or lifts his wrist off the strings. I've been studying his playing for a while to try to work this out.

Even if the lineup never plays live again I hope you realise the absolutely monumental influence your guitar playing has had on a whole generation of metal guitar players. We were chatting for a while actually, while you had a cig, I buggered off after you got called in to sort gear and always regretted not waiting around to see if you came back out, thought you know I really should've brought these dudes some weed. Good times. 😂 Good luck with the AS mate. I actually had a doctor wanting me to go get tested for this very thing, after I was in chronic pain for a solid month for no apparent reason. Never did as the pain faded away, but I still can't play guitar very long anymore without the radial nerve in my wrists going nuts. Hoping it doesn't come back to the entire body again, and was some random thing my body did. Never bothered because supposedly they can only test for the genes 🧬 or something. But dam if that's what it was then you must be in a crazy pain cause that shit was unreal, couldn't even take a hat off my head without being in agony.
