My boyfriend converted me. I am grateful he didn’t dismiss my potential because I wasn’t already Catholic. He brought God into my life.

That's great that you're walking with God! Gentle correction: No human can convert you, only the Holy Spirit can. God was always in your life, it's only a matter of whether you wanted to acknowledge Him and walk with Him. I hope that you are building a connection with God and Catholicism that is **separate** of your boyfriend. Because regardless if you two get married or not, God will always be there. And God wants you to choose to love Him.

The anxiety thing can be misleading. Especially for people who struggle with anxiety, you might have that "pit in your stomach" feeling in a relationship that is right for you.

I'm currently in this place. The relationship is really good, great guy but I still have anxiety moments, I'm overthinking everything and exaggerating small issues. It's my first relationship and it's really hard for me to tell if these are valid concerns or it's just me. I also struggled with anxiety in some other circumstances like starting a new job. I guess counseling would be great idea in my case
@thatgurl277

I had the same struggle with my current boyfriend in the beginning of our relationship. It was also my first one so I was very concerned with doing things "right". I was initially overthinking everything and anxious on and off in the beginning. I eventually figured out that my anxiety was coming from the pressure and high expectations I was placing on myself and him. Sometimes I think we put so much pressure on ourselves to have it figured out that it creates unnecessary anxiety. Especially when you hear things like "the purpose of dating is for marriage". This is good and true but can be taken to the extreme when you are trying to see if this person is the one right from the beginning. Allow yourself time to get to know this person and just enjoy the dating experience. If you enjoy their company and they make you a better person, just see where things lead. Keep praying for God to reveal His will and see if that anxiety fades. For me it did as I got to know this person more and more and now I feel mainly peace. I pray that you are able to find peace in whatever God's will may be for you! 💕

@@mariakurdziel7055 Hello! You are not alone. I would encourage you to research relationship anxiety/ROCD, and see if it might describe how you are feeling. Pray, and consider consulting spiritual directors or counselors if you believe you may be experiencing one of the two. I have had relationship anxiety for almost two years, and my relationship is exceedingly healthy. We fight and have differences like every couple, but our love is boundless. Anxiety does not always mean there's a problem. Remember that the enemy wishes to mislead and destroy us!

Emotions are often reactionary. You feel fear when something threatens you. This pit in your stomach is there because something is wrong and you have to stop and figure out what it is. It could be her, but it could also be you. St. Joseph ran away from Mary because He felt this "pit" seeing Himself unworthy of participating in God's work of Salvation. Figure it out so you don't hurt people and end up rejecting God's Will.

Thank you for this video 💛 First of all, you have the coolest surname! I agree with everything you said but I think I would add that a lot of these things are down to us becoming healthy, functioning, mature adults. If you can't argue well it might be more down to your own inner dysfunction. So instead of searching for a better person to argue with, do a self check and make sure you are a safe and whole person with good self boundaries, a healed heart and good communication skills. Otherwise its just rise & repeat. Its important to reflect and check what is our responsibility is and where do we need to grow and heal to become better partners ourselves. Thank you for putting these videos out! ❤

I had a pit in my stomach in our dating time before we got married, because of my past experiences and hurt. You should always think by yourself in the end when you choose someone to marry. You know yourself best. Have trust in yourself. Even though you need to hear your closed one's opinions.

@@quiroszmelissa I do not believe God weaponizes anxiety to make us make a decision! God gives us clarity and freedom. Relationship anxiety/ROCD can occur in very healthy relationships due to someone's past experiences/behavioral tendencies, and God will not always work to make direct changes. I think sometimes God wants us to put the pieces together and make the decisions for ourselves! Father Mike Schmitz once said "God will never ask you to make a decision about something that you do not fully know about"; in other words, to a degree, you have to take the leap and trust yourself and your future spouse.

*This is a Christian perspective on singleness and not my words, but it is so phenomenal and consoling for when singleness gets difficult, and it needs to be shared:* "As a lifelong single woman who knows what it’s like to feel unfulfilled, undesired, and scared of a future alone, my heart breaks when I read despairing comments from others in the same boat. Not only can I relate to their pain, but I also feel so sad when I see some singles questioning God’s love for them. I think there’s a tendency to be disappointed in or even angry at God for what we perceive as His failure to provide us with the human relationships we need. So often we don’t stop to think that maybe the Lord does NOT want us to be alone and is just as heartbroken as we are that we can’t find a godly spouse. The fact of the matter is that we live in evil times. True believers who want a real relationship with Christ have always been in the minority, but they are becoming even more scarce as we close in on the end times. Single women outnumber single men in churches three to one. God is not willing that anyone should perish, but we know that He doesn’t force people to turn to Him. If so few single men in the US have chosen Him, there will necessarily be many single Christian women without husbands. Contrary to what some singles might think, I believe this situation grieves God. He clearly laid out his plan for most people, and it was the family unit-marriage and children. So He considers those things good. The fact that so many of us can’t achieve His plan must make Him very sad, I would think. The reason I’m going on at some length about all this is because I’ve seen prolonged singleness gradually ruin more than one believer’s relationship with the Lord specifically because of this false assumption that the Lord WANTS all these unhappy singles to stay single. When we view God as the cause of our suffering rather than our refuge and walk away from Him, we lose the most faithful friend we can have. And that’s even worse than being forever single. If you are struggling with singleness, please don’t assume that God isn’t on your side and doesn’t want the best for your life. Express your grief to Him, and let Him grieve with you. He has been rejected by probably 90% of the people on this earth-He certainly knows how you feel. One more thing…If you’re a single woman, try to band together with other lifelong single women, especially older women who’ve been widowed or divorced and likely won’t remarry. While friendship isn’t the same as a marriage partnership, it can fulfill a lot of the same practical and emotional needs, and when you cultivate these kinds of friendships, you can at least be sure that you won’t be left alone to fend for yourself in old age."

@g.Raider
@g.Raider 6 жыл бұрын
@@c.c6909 I am so happy that this helped you! It changed my perspective too! I grew up hearing that God would handle everything if you were called to marriage and that he wouldn't let you down. And although God certainly isn't our enemy when things don't go according to our plan, saying that He wants you to be single and is keeping you out of a loving relationship for your own good makes it sound like He's depriving you of great happiness, and that risks resentment towards Him. If I hadn't found this post, I would have probably gone down the same path. Additionally, this contributes to the decline in marriage and families: godly young people who want to fulfill God's plan for them but are unable to find a mate that satisfies them in all the necessary categories. I feel like people would take this situation much more seriously if they saw it that way. God knows me far better than I ever could, and I still have stuff to learn about relationships, but I can't see Him as responsible for my relationship status anymore. That's too controlling and too much of a gamble to take in my relationship with Him. It's not out of His ability, but it's not His responsibility either.

Ironically, I did meet a guy that my heart pounded LIKE crazy upon seeing HIM AND he too approached me to START a conversation as any guy who's interested in a pretty woman would do. Then AFTER the "investigating," done by my part, right? It turned out the feeling was just "lust!" He ACTUALLY had another woman he was ALREADY sleeping with. WOMEN be careful ♡

Jen Lee What does the Bible say about confession of sin to a priest? The concept of confession of sin to a priest is nowhere taught in Scripture. First, the New Testament does not teach that there are to be priests in the New Covenant. Instead, the New Testament teaches that all believers are priests. First Peter 2:5-9 describes believers as a “holy priesthood” and a “royal priesthood.” Revelation 1:6 and 5:10 both describe believers as “a kingdom of priests.” In the Old Covenant, the faithful had to approach God through the priests. The priests were mediators between the people and God. The priests offered sacrifices to God on behalf of the people. That is no longer necessary. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we can now approach God’s throne with boldness (Hebrews 4:16). The temple veil tearing in two at Jesus’ death was symbolic of the dividing wall between God and humanity being destroyed. We can approach God directly, ourselves, without the use of a human mediator. Why? Because Jesus Christ is our great High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-15; 10:21) and the only mediator between us and God (1 Timothy 2:5). The New Testament teaches that there are to be elders (1 Timothy 3), deacons (1 Timothy 3), bishops (Titus 1:6-9), and pastors (Ephesians 4:11) - but not priests. When it comes to confession of sin, believers are told in 1 John 1:9 to confess their sins to God. God is faithful and just to forgive our sins as we confess them to Him. James 5:16 speaks of confessing our trespasses “to one another,” but this is not the same as confessing sins to a priest as the Roman Catholic Church teaches. Priests / church leaders are nowhere mentioned in the context of James 5:16. Further, James 5:16 does not link forgiveness of sins with the confession of sins “to one another.” The Roman Catholic Church bases their practice of confession to a priest primarily on Catholic tradition. Catholics do point to John 20:23, “If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” From this verse, Catholics claim that God gave the apostles the authority to forgive sins and that authority was passed on to the successors of the apostles, i.e., the bishops and priests of the Roman Catholic Church. There are several problems with this interpretation. (1) John 20:23 nowhere mentions confession of sin. (2) John 20:23 nowhere promises or even hints that apostolic authority of any kind would be passed on to the successors of the apostles. (3) The apostles never once in the New Testament acted as if they had the authority to forgive a person’s sin. Similarly, Catholics point to Matthew 16:19 and 18:18 (binding and loosing) as evidence for the Catholic Church’s authority to forgive sins. The same three above points apply equally to these Scriptures. The ability to forgive sins is God’s and His alone (Isaiah 43:25). The better understanding of John 20:23 is that the apostles were given the responsibility of declaring with utmost certainty the terms on which God would forgive sins. As the church was being founded, the apostles declared that those who believed the gospel were forgiven (Acts 16:31) and those who did not obey the gospel faced judgment (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17). As the apostles proclaimed salvation in Christ (Acts 10:43) and exercised church discipline (1 Corinthians 5:4-5), they were wielding the authority Christ had given them. Again, the concept of confession of sin to a priest is nowhere taught in Scripture. We are to confess our sins to God (1 John 1:9). As New Covenant believers, we do not need mediators between us and God. We can go to God directly because of Jesus’ sacrifice for us. First Timothy 2:5 says, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

I know why in marriage we cannot get along, even thought I was born again in Christ and my heart was transformed 6 months ago. It’s because we started our relationship from wrong doing, from having sex before marriage, our love wasn’t pure and delicate as should be and it’s all because of sex temptation. God, please give my husband a new heart, new thinking and set a pure fire in our love and marriage, I pray in Jesus name. Amen 🙏 Whoever read my comments please pray briefly for my marriage to become pure 🙌 God bless ❤️

How do you know you are born again?
@bornagain8680
@bornagain8680 3 жыл бұрын
@@freshliving4199 you know that you’ve been born again when everything in your life changes, your thoughts and actions are focus on pleasing God. You think of Him every day. You conscious about your wrong doings, you realise when you do something wrong straight away, even if you’ve been tempted, you apologise and work on it. You realise that without God you are nothing. You trust Him and let Him lead you every day. In my case, during prayer when I asked God to clean my heart, I felt unbelievably huge amount of love being poured upon me and from this moment I became new. Jesus said: “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 11:19 Let God to work in your heart and do beautiful things with it. Once you can’t stop thinking about about pleasing Him every day, this is when you’ve been born again. It may be a moment or process.. God bless you and wish you to find Jesus in your life and be born again in Him 🙌

I literally experience this signs with the guy I'm dating right now but we're in a long distance relationship and hopefully gonna meet next year bcoz we just met online but my family told me not to take it seriously for now because our relationship might not work and maybe I'll meet someone else in the future, but I'm not the type who easily date... If I'm gonna date someone then I'm gonna make sure that I'll marry that person in the future as well that's why I'm really knowing the person I'm dating before I even let them enter my life. I rarely even meet guys who are still a virgin and respects the sacredness of marriage and also who haven't been in a relationship before like me and now that I met one, I really feel that God prepared the "someone" for me that I prayed for since in my first year in highschool. Even though he's Orthodox and I'm Catholic, we are still willing to know God more and have a deeper relationship with God even more. My family might not fully agree with me but I know God is guiding me in the right path. And my mom thinks we're absurd for planning ahead our future together but we can't help it, cuz we have the same goals as well. Please pray for me.

We started to do coupley things like giving each other pet names and held hands. But I started to feel like I was losing that best friend side of him. One time, we hung out and a couple of days later he said that he lost feelings for me because, in her words, he lost his spark for me. In reality, I was showing him how much I liked him but in a way as both a potential girlfriend and best friend. We’re still best friends, but I feel that he’s made for someone else as am I. I appreciate you talking about this. Many of the teachings are very wise, such as "this person should challenge you to be Holy," and people of faith must talk about these issues since most relationship advice out there is not the most holy. Relationship should certainly be about supporting one another's personal growth. But it is about more than that. It seems that most of what you say comes from personal experience. You should start with broader Catholic principles, and then use your personal experience to illustrate their meaning in the modern world, the first being that love is an act of self-giving as it states in the Catechism. I think this is where my specific issues come from. I do not think all husbands and wives will be "best friends." They must of course be able to maintain a basic friendship centered around some commonalities, especially in faith. Yet some people have are very different people, which is the source of their attraction. Their polarity is brought together into a beautiful unity of their divergent traits. Such people cannot expect to be best friends. Further, they will not be able to be "fully themselves" around their partner. They will have to be a good version of themselves to realize the many fruits of relationship.

From the book " To Save a Thousand of Souls " by fr Brett Brannen I believe one of the problems in the Church today is that many people are in the wrong vocation. Many people have grown up unaware that they have a vocation, much less that they should be asking God to reveal it to them. And there are many unhappy, unfulfilled, dissatisfied people. As a general rule, people flourish in their correct vocation! Flourishing does not just mean they are happy. It means they are steadily growing in holiness, they are fulfilled, and they are becoming the person God wants them to be. Fr. Brian Bashista, vocation director of the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, underscores that vocation is less about personal choice and more about discovery.
