Tatiana had vocal lessons for a short period of time as a child...she's sung in bands of various genres growing up, and she taught herself harsh vocals after hearing bands like Otep and Lamb of God

Otep was the reason she learned that girls can do it too, and Randy from Lamb of God is her main influence for her harsh vocals.

Yeah, this is a great video to see her sing. Technical is good :). As Paz Wretzky said, Tatiana had about 2 months of vocal lessons when she was 8 years old. She's self taught since. I can't remember which interviews where she says this, but I've heard her talk about it a few times. Also, I think she said her mom and dad were musicians...I think. She seems to be very aware of her voice/instrument. The fact she taught herself how to growl on her own says a lot about her vocal ability. She tried following different techniques but none worked for her, so she figured it out on her own. Pretty impressive. Because of that, I think her extreme vocals are pretty unique. She has a lot of range in her extreme vocals and so much depth of sound compared to a lot of people I've heard. She's been in all kinds of bands growing up; all kinds of styles. So she's been singing pretty much her whole life. At one time she was in 8 or 9 different bands at the same time (all different styles). She loves jam sessions with bands and improvises a lot. She actually has improvised in the studio on one of their albums because she didn't have a lot of time to write the lyrics and vocal lines before recording. Definitely check out Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev) and On the Top (Live in Kiev). Booth are great performances and great quality. Also, for a song with no extreme vocals, check out Bad Water live in Kiev (2017). A great performance as well. Also, the HellFest At Home live show is awesome!

Yeah, she's pretty natural. It's like she's advanced past training since she was 10. In the live Perennial' she moves around basically the entire time. In this it's recorded to use, so that could be why she's 3-6 inches from the mic the whole time. She seems to boost herself every new album.

You didn't hear any breath because Tatiana is the master of breath control. All the live videos have more production than this one, btw. It was recorded at her boyfriend's house while she was "stuck" in LA last Summer, in an improvised vocal booth with only the mic, a black cloth used as a wall and the camera. Oh, and Mr. Pepino, the cat. : )

You 'went technical' because you can... that's great! A dog person.... huh... I go either way... cats rule my life for the moment, but a good dog is a good friend. In regards to color.. yes, you rarely indulge except for red, which you use with great effect both in general visual filters, and the band on your neck. BTW, is the placement (inferior edge of the hyoid bone, correct?) a way of tracking your larynx placement and a reminder to keep it from rising too high? Very cool if it is. Stay cool throughout the summer. Thank you for the reactions. I appreciate all your hard work.

Once again, incorrect. Regarding growling she is indeed self taught, but she had vocal lessons for a period of time when she was a child and she even talked about that in some interviews. And that by no means diminuishes her value. People get too much hyped about this "self taught" thing. Yes it's impressive that someone can do some stuff without any formal training, but it's equally impressive that people dedicate a big part of their lifes by studying and perfecting something they aim achieve/master.

@pedromarques2077
@pedromarques2077 3 жыл бұрын
@@palladinodessa8988 Like I said, it takes no value from what she can do whatsoever, but saying that she's completely self taught is an incorrect statement. I also had a few vocal lessons in my early teens from the singer of my band at the time, to be able to help out with backing vocals. Up to this day I still take into account those tips and techniques, because it's simply something that once you get a grasp of, it says with you all along.

I'm baffled. You are literally the first person I have ever heard say she does not open her mouth wide. Every professional voice coach that I have watched react to multiple performances from her has complimented the fact that she opens her mouth wide. Elizabeth Zharoff of The Charismatic Voice, who is a professional, recorded opera singer, has complimented both her posture and her wide mouth shape. Beth Moore of Beth Roars, a well respected voice coach within the profession, has complimented her on the same. So it leaves me baffled why you think she doesn't open her mouth wide or doesn't have correct posture. How wide do you think she should open it?

Oddly, she hasn't had a huge amount of training. What she has is an extreme amount of practice by doing hundreds of live shows. She was in a Jazz band before she joined Jinjer. She smokes and drinks, and doesn't really warm up. But also is the kind of person that sings at parties. She was an English Major at Unversity. So, all the vocal parts are written by her.
