You can always reinstall from scratch if needed. You won't lose .ase files as far as I know ^^

@@1BitStudio yeah, sadly I think something is wrong with my account because I can't seem to log in to the aseprite website. as of right now if I wanted to update it I would have to buy it again :P

I just thought it was such a cool ass tool I would use basically for years and decades, I justified spending $20 bucks to have it on steam as a sort of investment. 1 to make it easier to download and update, 2 to support the devs who made such an invaluable tool for sprite work.

Yes! It is possible if you've built the beta versions of v1.3. These features were available already in alpha (and later beta), but it's only now that the v1.3 is officially released. For example, the z-index for each cell was introduced months ago in v.1.3 rc4 :)
