Love this video. My parents actually got divorced and then found God and got married again. They were married for 7 years, got divorced for 6 years and now they have been married again for 12!

To comment on the children that grow up in a divorce household and spouse relationships: I can tell you, the first year of marriage was miserable for me, not because of my husband, but because I saw the true horrible repercussions of my parents divorce when I was 12. (I got married at 21). I was literally reenacting my parents fights, ways they yelled, literal words my mind remembered from their arguments, ways they interacted, all subconsciously. It was scary. But thankfully god has allowed me to let go and heal my heart to be a better spouse and honor my husband.

I was honestly 2-3 weeks away from being divorced in October. We took a marriage class in church and are still trying to figure our way after deciding to reconcile… marriage is definitely not for the faint of heart. Takes a lot!

So good, so much truth and great advice! I've applied some of these things over the years and I found that pride was the biggest issue. When pride is swallowed and we humble ourselves it makes a huge difference. In the same way when we humble ourselves Infront of the Lord, barriers are broken down

Jordan and Milena, in addition to the 5 love languages, I think y’all should look into the 16 personalities. It has helped me in SO MANY relationships to understand my friends’ and partner’s thinking processes, why they act how they act, their strength and weaknesses, etc. Once you understand one’s personality on that level you have way more grace towards them as well, you are able to predict what they will do in certain situations or what they really mean, without getting too upset! 🙂

I think parents telling their adult children when they come to them talking that the marriage is struggling and they need to come home and to say too bad you’re on your own figure it out, is toxic and a horrible thing for parents to do. I get it if it’s just common complaining, but there are some women that call out to the parents and say I can’t do this anymore. I don’t wanna go back home, and the sad parent never asking a question. Fast-forward 20 years later and the person there is an abusive marriage that they could’ve gotten out back Many many years ago if they would’ve had the supportive family.
