Crazy i always thought Hastings battle 1066 then they came and smashed our Castle but 1086 so was it built by the Normans i was maybe yr3 when they taught us this stuff first we went to Hastings field trip I kind of remember that and then this battle is it linked in any way to Hastings 1066 and i just got confused since no 7-8yr olds have any business learning this stuff anyway lol. I wish schools taught us about our bodies not wars like healthy nutrition and hygiene common-sense things too because its not that common is it. My Ex didn't even know you must brush the back of your teeth lol. Until a dentist asked her do you brush the back of your teeth LOL. But its monkey see monkey do stuff schools should teach that stuff the best ways and why its important etc those classes would be 10x more useful to kids than learning all the royals and the wars they waged. But i loved Ashby Castle that was our playground we never paid just hop the wall and RUNNN jump in the moat and lie there for a minute or two and hope we wasn't spotted mayb go into the little tower smoke and drink till they locked it up. I have stories for days of that Castle but still waiting for the day i amaze my kids with the place i cant wait to take them for a picnic there. But today you cant go up the tower that sucks that was the best part of the castle I'm not sure if anyone is allowed in the dungeon anymore either health and safety BS that castle is as strong as it was the day it was built LOL. We would know we climbed it drunk 100s of times. Once i took a gf up the tower lol. Surveyed the lands haha.

Wow mary queen of scots was held there i wish i knew that. My ex was Scottish i could have rubbed that right in haha. Ill learn all about that now and teach my kids they can do it LOL.
