She plays similar too in the fact she hardly panics but causes her opponent to commit unforced errors and stupid mistakes due to ‘perceived pressure’.. A lot of people slated Pliskova by saying ‘same old, same old’ in terms of choking, but Pliskova played a solid match, but was outclassed in the end. Credit to Pliskova, but uncharacteristic Barty errors in the tiebreak ultimately enabled a third set.

I like that each time she plays, she has lots of respect for her opponent on-court or off-court knowing anybody she plays against is also deserving. This may explain why she remains very humble and class in the way she plays. Hope she keeps that humility as she continues her career.

When I chose to become an Ashy Barty fan back in 2018, I knew she was capable of winning multiple grand slams in both singles and doubles if she put her mind to it, but I never imagined she would take Wimbledon in singles. I'm so proud of her. I wish the final could have been another Petra/Ash matchup, but Karolina has done her country proud. I hope to see her holding up a GS trophy in the future.
