OK. WOW. Crazy. "A Different Kind of Human" is one of my to ten Aurora songs. Not only for the musical aspect, but the message.... It's sooooo... soooo soothing... comforting. As long as you let yourself get carried along, of course, and that's where Aurora's talent is so powerful: at least for the time of the song: You. Believe. It. From the HAIK concert, this song was already so sublime. At the "Christines radiofestival P3"... I can't watch it without shedding tears. But then here... in this video, which I hadn't seen before... Considering the situation, and the way Aurora presents it, finally getting in touch with this mannequin who represents all her warriors and weirdo... she sings into our ears and hugs us. It's so strong and powerful... I'm getting emotional just writing about it. It's prodigious... no, wait... in fact, there are no words. Or I don't know any. You gave the perfect reaction to this performance. It was wonderful, and thanks to you I discovered this moment that I didn't know. Merci

That's so cool this was new to you! ADKoH is definitely in my top 3 favorite Aurora songs....quite possibly the #1 spot tbh. And while this isn't a traditional "live performance" per se....it's hands down my favorite performance of this song. This song, and especially this performance, is THE perfect showcase for her....empathy. I tear up every single time I watch this....and I'm not that quick to cry. But this touches me real deep.

Great reaction Ashlena🥰 This whole concert is awesome 😍 And it was located in Aurora’s hometown Bergen (where I lived in for 24 years), so this was in an old disused cinema (where I’ve watched many movies, so a bit nostalgic for me💞) I love this performance so much, but then everything she does is great,my favourite will always be the one at NRK P3 radio festival 2020 though because it’s more stripped down and intimate. And because of Silja Sol who had just lost her mom❤️ Aurora Tuesdays 🤗😍🥰🥰

Trust Aurora to do this during lockdown. Her lyrics fit 2020 so well and her personality always lifts me. This was a live performance, one take and, as usual better than the one on the album.

Same. I *_loved_* the pandemic....or at least the early part. My work shut down for 2 months...I was at home constantly, and unemployment payments meant I was making double what I normally made. I'm also an extreme introvert. But also...I had so much time to focus on self actualization and working on things I'd put off for years. I took walks every evening that spring. It was...so wonderful. Which is a weird thing to say...knowing the pain and uncertainty so many were going through then. Of course....those first few months were pretty tame compared to what came later....the bulk of the deaths came well after things started opening back up. But those early days? One of the best times of my life. Just so odd to say that....

Heli lovely being Ashlena. I saw what songs the patreon choice was and for there is two which stands out. The first was Animal soul who is one of four Aurora song that minds so much for me and that is Animal soul a very heart warming and simple song i think i have heard it thousand times and every singel time i cries like a baby. Hope you take this another time. This song also very much in a time when i was in sorrow because two of friend die in covid only weeks apart. This "concert" come with this speak and song and it warms up my soul every time. For me she is the mother of empathy and sympathy. Thanks for this my Lady😊😊😊

What Aurora did just before the pandemic in Feb 2020 was performing at The Oscars 🙂 Doing the "high vocals" in the "Into The Unknown" performance from Frozen 2 with Idina Menzel (and all the international "Elsa" voice actors).

Yay! I've been waiting for this one. This is is one of my favorite performances from Aurora. The way she sings to the mannequin is so beautiful. It was during the pandemic, and it was just Aurora and a film crew. Aurora was one of the main things that got me through the pandemic, and the passing of both of my parents. She came into my life when I needed her the most.

Nice! Been hoping for this one. :) This one is super special for me...and I dare say lots of others. I like how it's not a traditional "live show" per se. It's this intimate...theatrical moment. SO genuine and basically her empathy manifesto or mission statement. The fact she did this in 2020, which was....quite a time....just makes it all the more special.

Aurora loves being on her own so the isolation in 2020 didn’t upset her. But she provided content like this little concert to entertain and support her fans - such a special person - one of a different kind. The theatre is at Danmarksplass In Bergen, Norway, not too far from home. Later that year Aurora performed another concert VIERLIVE, with the Bergen Philarmonic Orchestra, which was also magical.

I love this song performance from that venue. The idea with manikin was great and add additional element to performance. I also like location of this concert - it gives me more "artistic feeling". You can also see that she really care about others. Aurora does not have problem to be alone (for me pandemic was not also so bad) but she think about others in that time. Ps. I guess it was edited to show also the end :). Great concert but she has some voice problem and lost voice on the end (which she said in this part).

Aurora also did a series of live broadcasts from her apartment in Bergen during the pandemic, had something to do also with some music site (Spotify asked her to?), each with a different topic, focus, but she took it as opportunity just to talk to people … they’re all on her KZbin page, if you wanted to react to one of them (you should, please;), they’re delightful, I recommend the one you should start with is titled, “Stories.” In each, she talks unscripted for a while, is adorable, and performs a song on the piano, usually has a cup of tea.

Holy shoot so I'm watching your reax again, this venue is surreal and minimmal and definitely maybe another favorite venue, actually all are in their own right but visuals and the image language in this one are a proof of Aurora's creativity and genious even when she slips and falls on her bottom and says "my voice is gone but my ass is fine..." She's such a beautiful spirit absolutely one of the kind! My favorite Aurora song, and one of my favorite versions of it. Only Aurora could hit me right in the feels by singing to a mannequin. It would look ridiculous for most singers to be doing that, but somehow, she pulls it off, just like she pulls everything else off. I think it's because she's so authentic in everything she does. Even though this is obviously choreographed, it still feels very authentic, because her emotions are real. I loved that they showed her having fun at the end too. When she has fun, I have fun. And as far as that time period, Aurora has said that the isolation part didn't really bother her, because she likes being alone anyway. Still, when she got back to touring, you could see that she had a lot of pent-up energy ready to unleash!

This performance of “A Different Kind of Human” created such an emotional impact for me and it’s great to see you react to it. The whole Somewhere Else Festival, filmed during Covid at the Forum Sentrum in Bergen, is nearly an hour long and the set list is wonderful. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4G0Ya2Ji9-impI Quite a number of her songs are re-imagined versions due to having her band playing separately behind a curtain on the stage with Aurora roaming in various areas of the theatre. There are some spectacular lighting effects (especially “The River” and an incredible “Running With the Wolves”) and it’s well worth the time to see it from start to finish. Since you asked, in a couple of live streams at around that time Aurora mentioned that she was actually quite fine for the most part during the lock-down, as she was able to entertain herself quite easily (reading, painting, gaming, and, of course, writing music) and being alone suited her introverted personality. But, like all of us, she missed being able to see and spend time with her family during such a sad and frightening time.

At the beginning of the lockdowns I was spending MUCH more time browsing KZbin - out of sheer boredom. I'd never heard of Aurora until I randomly clicked on a reaction video to Churchyard Live at the Current, and I haven't gone a day since without listening to her. The world changed (again) in 2020 and it's good to remember what got us through it. Great reaction, Ashlena.

The love she expressed in this performance turned me to mush! This entire concert is beautiful! And yes, during the pandemic YT became an escape for me (in addition to reading). I enjoyed watching School of Rock performances and reaction videos. It was then that I discovered Aurora and The Warning and devouring everything I could related to them gave me life!
