In a backhanded way, you can tell by the majority of these positive comments that for some of these viewers it’s a pretty big deal that a black woman can BE cheerfully literate, quirky, deep thinker, and deeply loved. In the media, black women are usually portrayed as poor, angry, whorish, and-or desperate. (Thank goodness that’s beginning to shift-it just can’t be soon enough!). On the other hand, @LBellatrix was a black female talking to another black female, so, really, you have no right to try to censor her words. You do not have the right to tell black people how they should speak to each other. It’s not your place to judge.

There's a lot of eclectic blacks who get looked over, and get labeled as "trying to be white", or being weird, sadly, a lot of it comes from our own people. We get questioned, mocked, and laughed at when we try to explain ourselves. We like alternative, creative ways of living also.

How can you not absolutely LOVE them?! Their home, their dog, THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER- magical❤️. I love that their place isn’t “styled” for this video, it looks like my home (your home). The part where he recalls how it dawned on him that his things were included in how she decorated...that was not only touching, but sadly rare for a guy. When it comes to decorating one person- usually the female or the the feminine half of the couple takes over and fills the home with what they like/prefer. We rarely “include” the things the masculine half wants or likes though they live there too. I also love the fact they proudly display their childlike, geeky things- so awesome!

I am a maximalist, I love it. their home looks like their relationship, you can feel the warmth, the feeling of being themselves to the fullest. Instead of books my walls are covered with my paintings and things that can transport me to special days; my husband does the rough jobs, he actually brings to life my ideas knocks and puts up walls and begrudgingly paints the walls, sometimes in bright colors or maybe is time for cave colors. I had to agree to he only changes the color every five years, whether I like the results or not. I love home and this video looks like a home, not an apartment.
