You're amazing Ashley. Watched your 2 videos on the Wireless Go II and I ordered the SC-7 off amazon right away. Wish I could triple like your videos. Plugging in the charging cable works to pull out the microphone back-up recording in the Rode Wireless Go II. And to charge it. And that's about it. I hope this video doesn't kill my algorithm because I'm not promoting it or driving traffic to it. It's literally so I can copy/paste when people have questions about the required cables and how to use it for yoga teacher on Zoom. The questions have been coming in hot! Thanks for your comments, Jaime!

@@AshleyHagen actually I think it’s the reverse. You’re totally building authority on how to use the Rode Wireless Go, especially when it comes to teaching online yoga. This is just the video I needed today Ashley. I was teaching an online class and my students said that when I brushed my rhode mic (attached to my shirt) it changed the volume. I wanted to see if I could adjust the sound from my mac, but as you discovered -- it wouldn't work. So when I searched -- how thrilled I was to find you explaining this all. I have ordered a couple of the things you suggested (sorry through CAD amazon so I couldn't use your links). Now I just have a quick question -- can I adjust the volume from my mac or do I do it from my rhode? Do you have a video showing how you adjust the volume? Thanks a million!
@AshleyHagen2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Shannon! I should definitely make a video on audio adjusting. Yes, you can adjust the volume through the Zoom audio settings. It's not something I've shared before, or explore much, but I just troubleshooted with someone yesterday on this exact topic. They didn't realize you could change the volume on the Rode receiver, but you can also change it in the Zoom audio settings. I'm currently playing with my new 2022 macbook pro, so I'll be creating some update videos. I typically make a video whenever a see a question pop up more than once. ☺

The sound IS showing up on the Rode 2 receiver. So we are flummoxed! Maybe we got a bad SC7 cable?

Try the other connection options. My 2022 MacBook Pro, I just use the original cable (black to black) in the headphone input and it works. I’m not sure why some computers allow for different things. It also could be the cables. Make sure they’re the right direction.

The Yeti mic does sounds better when you are up close to it. But not so much if it's far away from you (like teaching a yoga class and moving around.) Have you turned up the dB level on the device? If you are plugging it in using the USB-c charging cable, you can't adjust the volume, so you'll need the other set up with the SC7 cable that is sold separate.

@AshleyHagen2 жыл бұрын
First, is your microphone paired together? Does it work on other devices? And how do you know specifically it is not recording any sound? Set your speaker to the internal speaker, not the microphone. You'll hear nothing if your speaker is set the same as the mic.

@@AshleyHagen Hi Ashley, thanks for your reply. After calling a local dealer of Røde here in the Netherlands, I found what the issue was. Could perhaps also be useful for you to know. Apparently with some AUX to USB cables you need to the SC7 cable as you mention in your video, and for others you need to use the original cable that came in the box (SC5 I believe), otherwise it won't work. That's why the microphone did pop up as USB Audio Device in both System Preferences and Zoom, but wasn't recording any sound. Hope this information can be of help to you or anyone else facing this issue. Best, Quinty

USB Audio device will pop up even if you don't have the Rode attached to any of the cables. I've noticed that on my computer. I also know that some new macbook airs just need the original cable attached. I think it's a good idea to test all attachment styles. It will work one of the ways.

Hi Ashley! Thank you so much for all of these videos! They are so helpful!! @AshleyHagen3 жыл бұрын
the little DB button is the volume. It's on the receiver. there are 3 volume settings. It's indicated on a little triangle on the screen of the device. Low picks up less sound. I use low when I'm talking direct to the camera. Medium picks up a little more. I leave it on medium when i teach yoga classes. High picks up a lot more sound. I rarely have it on the high setting, but it may be useful for certain circumstances.

Your speaker should be set to "internal (built in)," not set to the microphone. Only the microphone is set to the Rode Wireless Go. The speaker needs to be internal or an actual speaker. But you are saying that it is not picking up the sound, make sure to test it first. It could be that you don't have it set on Zoom, or that your cable connection is incorrect.
