Okay, I have to thank you. Around 10 years ago, I saw the 1997 Stephen Fry film "Wilde" (awesome film btw). I was in 12th grade (actually a little over 10 years as I was 17 at graduation and am 28 now), but my family still had dial-up and the public library 1 hour per day was our internet access. So I was watching fanvids on KZbin, but I didn't 'check' the music used back then. So I just knew "Heaven Can Wait' as an Oscar Wilde/Bosie Douglas fanvid song that was amazing and I assumed 80's-90's music since it had that more ballad/romantic song feel. And your comment let me add this to my top faves for Meatloaf (which include "Loving's You A Dirty Job" and "It's All Coming Back To Me Now"). I also just re-found the fanvid and confirmed they used the Meatloaf song. So thank you!

It will always be a bittersweet song for me as it came out at the same time my soulmate and love of my life decided to separate from me. This song was mine to her, as I tried to get her to understand how much she still meant to me after our ten years together. But in the end , unlike thus video , no happy ending for us ….. We lost a music legend, and he left us with unlimited music and a whole new appreciation for his brilliant artistry. I first heard this song in the malls, movie soundtracks, restaurants, and coming out of my parents' speaker. I finally asked my dad who sang it, and he said Meatloaf. So the female vocalist in this track is Lorraine Crosby from my home town Newcastle, England. Its not the actress in the video, she mimed along to Lorraine's voice. Lorraine received no credits or royalties from this song, even though some would argue its her vocal and lyrics that really make the track epic! Lorraine continues to tour in small shows around the UK with her band but apart from this and a few other recordings with Meatloaf (for which she did receive credit for under the name Ms Loud) Lorraine lives a quiet life and pops up on occasion at local events. She did Newcastle proud and deserved so much more recognition for the incredible voice she has!

Meat Loaf's best work was singing the songs written for him by songwriter Jim Steinman, who wrote his biggest songs... the two worked together in the 70's and delivered the 'Bat out of hell' album in 1977, which sold 14 million copies in the US, 40+ million worldwide. Unfortunately, their collaboration soured after Meat Loaf's vocal problems delayed the next album... the 2 finally delivered the 'Dead ringer' album in 1981, and it went to #1 in the UK but failed commercially in the US. Meat Loaf parted ways w/ Steinman, and his career went south in the 80's, but he kept recording albums & touring overseas... Finally, Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman reconciled and delivered this sequel album 'Bat out of hell II: Back into hell' that sold 5 million copies in the US. More issues emerged when Steinman copyrighted the 'Bat out of hell' title, after the release of Meat Loaf's 1995 album 'Welcome to the neighborhood'. Meat Loaf still recorded 'Bat out of hell 3: The monster is loose' in 2006 without Steinman's approval... and used a few Steinman songs for the record. In 2013, Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman reconciled again and used his songs for Meat Loaf's final record 'Braver than we are' in 2016... both were in poor health by then. Jim Steinman passed away in 2021... Meat Loaf passed away less than a year later. R.I.P. 😪 Some Meat Loaf classics to check out - "Rock n roll dreams come through" ... 'Heaven can wait' ... 'Midnight at the lost & found' ... 'Not a dry eye in the house' ... "It just won't quit" ... "I'm gonna love her for both of us" ... "I'd lie for you (and that's the truth)" ... 'Life is a lemon & I want my money back' ... 'Objects in the rear view mirror' ... 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Hey guys. I’ve seen meatloaf in concert back in the 80s and then later in the 2000s. As you can see if you’ve ever watched The Voice was not the same. My heart was with him always no matter what. And one concert he even said guys I’m not even sure I can sing this song anymore but I’m gonna try. I did watch a video where he sang the national anthem when he still had a strong voice. Just for your own viewing on your own time… You may wanna watch him do the national anthem. He still had a good voice then and it was strong. Of course you know those are live…As we have witnessed in the past some of them don’t go so well and some do a good job. Nobody will ever do what Whitney did. However watching him sing that gives you a good idea as voice in the past

Things Meat Loaf says he will never do in the song: Lie to you Forget the way you feel right now Forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight Do it better than I do it with you Stop dreaming of you every night of my life See that it's time to move on Be screwing around

I love this song it’s definitely a masterpiece and it’s like riding a wave it goes up high and fast for a min then it eases back down and slowed down for a min then right back on top
