My son and I used to listen to this version of this song, after I got him out of the tub every night. He passed away in December of '21 after an ultra rare neurological disorder. The lyrics hit me in the heart before my son, Levi left, but I have fond memories of my little 6 year old boy, on my lap, in his towel, and taking a bow, like Freddie does at the end. I hope you enjoyed it ♥️

Queen is the only group in which each member composed more that one number 1 hit. Freddie Mercury - Don't Stop Me Now, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody To Love, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Are The Champions John Deacon - Another One Bites The Dust, I Want To Break Free, You're My Best Friend. Roger Taylor - Radio Ga Ga, A Kind Of Magic, These Are The Days Of Our Lives. Brian May - Fat Bottomed Girls, We Will Rock You, and Who Wants To Live Forever Each of them was wonderfully talented and creative artist. No autotune needed, just pure talent and hard work.

In the studio version, because Freddie asked him to, Brian May taught himself to play an actual Harp just enough for some of this song's melody. It's very lovely. Reminds me of when once Brian teased John that he wanted a double bass for another one of his own songs, so John goes home & learns to play the danged thing. Those guys, I tell you!

This song (written by Freddie for Mary Austin) was frequently used as an audience participation song, here he only had about a 72,000 strong choir, at the "Rock in Rio 1985" concert he had at least a quarter of a million, most with English as at best a second language, they still did a good job. Let us not forget Brian had to sit on a stool playing a 12 string acoustic guitar, with no accompaniment (major confidence required).

Freddie did not really have professional voice training - he had childhood piano lessons, and he did sing in chorus at the boarding school back in India, but again only as a kid. A few different bands he was in before and immediately after he first met Roger and Brian - none of which had real success, just an occasional gig. Things only started to click when he joined Roger and Brian’s band Smile, after their original singer/bassist Tim Staffell left (Tim was a friend of Freddie’s from Ealing Art College) - and they changed the name to Queen in 1970. - bassist John Deacon joined in 71 after several other bassists didn’t work out. For the most part, Freddie’s voice was sheer talent as well as a lot of hard work to gain more control over his natural rapid vibrato.

Great reaction! Freddie did not have any vocal training outside of a school choir class. He is self made. He has a very strong voice in his natural range but if you watch him closely during performances or any behind the scenes recording videos, he knows exactly how to position his mouth/neck and his distance from the microphone to get the pitch/volume that he wants. And, he can change the timbre of his voice to suit the song style and emotion which, in addition to his range and stage presence, is what I think really sets him apart from other singers. Try some early Queen like Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974.

It’s documented that Freddy has said that he didn’t want to be a Rock Star, I’m going to be a Legend! This performance is legendary for sure 👏🏻

I was blessed to be in the crowd that night. Still sends shivers down my spine today. The best concert I've ever been too by a long way.

Freddie was the ultimate showman. Hold thousands in the palm of his hand so naturally. Like a duck in water. You should listen to the studio version. Queen, "All Dead, All Dead." ✌️

He had no training...he wrote this song for the audience not for Mary Austen......he truly loved his fans.the band loved their fans...you can see that in their rock and roll medleys where they thank the fans....and wish them goodnight and sweet dreams ...check the facts about that...don’t go by hearsay....he turned his arse to the audience, this was a reminder to their manager from the early days...Norman Sheffield who swindled them...you’ve got to love Freddie❤️🤩

Asia and BJ, I hope you will cover Queen's "These are the Days of our Lives". It was Freddie's last recorded singing performance. It's heartbreaking but true to Freddie's form, done well!
