IMO when he says actors don't know anything about the real world & not to lecture the public, he means they aren't worrying about the cost of gas, keeping groceries in the kitchen, avoiding homelessness. The economy isn't crushing them, they travel, & have the best of everything at their fingertips. They have no idea what it actually feels like to be a normal citizen in our current socioeconomic climate. So take your award, offer thanks, and get off the stage.

Yeah, I think that is it and it is true aswell. During lockdown some people protested in front of a burger restaurant because they wanted it to open again so that they could work there again. And Patton Oswald, the comedian, bashed them for it. He thought they wanted it open to eat there. And he basically said that they should be happy, just stay home, stream netflix, order food, live the good life. That dude is so far removed from reality that he didn't comprehend that normal people were at risk of losing everything. He flat out did not understand that if an ordinary person can't work, they can't just sit around, order food and stare into the TV. He knows nothing of the real world.

Brillaint.... he called them all out. I've watched this dozens of times. Gets better every time.

I've been to 26 countries throughout my 43 years on this rock and I can confidently say that most people, have no idea what the real world is like!

This is legendary. The look on Asias face was priceless.

I've watched this so many times! And it NEVER gets old! I love the fact that Tom Hanks was obviously so pissed. He's one of those that seems like a good dude, but he never has been. I was disappointed when things started coming out about the Hollywood elites and their debauchery. This particular roast should have destroyed Ricky but it didn't. He nailed it! We know it and the best thing about it is THEY know it too.

I’ve always thought Tom Hanks is too good to be true.

All of his Golden Globes monologues are worth watching so I'd recommend reacting to the other four monologues also, they're worth it.

They hired him 5 times! They knew what they were getting themselves into and we’re fine with it. Props to them because Ricky was on fire. Love him so much.😊

This was 2020, right BEFORE the pandemic, thats why he said we're all gonna die soon. Thats also why everyone is still sitting close to each other, no 6ft restrictions yet,

No one comes close to Ricky 😂 as being British the sense of humour just knocks it out the ballpark 😂😂 and Hollywood cannot compete with Facts! 🤷🏻♀️😂

Is that Asia singing in the intro? Whoever it is, their voice is fire
