Ricky has hosted the Golden Globes five times, each one more of a roast than the one before. He was the creator and star of "The Office" in the UK, before exporting it to the states and casting Steve Carrell in his role. He made a series called "Extras" where he played a lowly film extra, and got major stars on it playing themselves, (Samuel L was in one episode). He created a series called "Life's Too Short" starring Warwick Davis, see if you can find the hilarious cameos from Johnny Depp and Liam Neeson in that.

German here and it amuses me every time to see the different reaction from American hosts and actors versus the British and Irish ones. The likes of Tom Hanks and Allen as well as Madonna get offended and try to push back with lame petty jokes, whilst the British, Irish and Scotish know this kind of humour, role with the punches or even play into it. Some of them are quite good friends with Ricky. The problem is, that many Americans do not know that the people in question arent from the US

The point of the Golden Globes standup (with Gervais) is that these are real people who are among the most pampered and privaleged in society. If they cant laugh at themselves, if they need to have smoke blown up there asses then at that point they are the ones with the issue not Gervais. His Golden Globe monologues and introductions are savage. They kept getting him back as everyone was watching for him, essentially. The 2020 one is the best, he goes all out as he literally doesn't care anymore. "Who cares, it's my last time" are his exact words I think. He was on Skavlan with Pamela Anderson. It's a Swedish-Norwegian talk show, hosted in English. Pamela tells about a terrible experience she had with a stalker and Ricky finds a way to make her feel better about it as only Ricky can. Definitely worth watching.
