I guess you have already read a lot about Jon. Just in short: Michael is based on Jon's best friend, Matthew O'Grady, who really is HIV positiv since the 90s, but never got sick with AIDS. As Jon said in the song Johnny can't decide: "Michael's got have it all, his luck will never end" 🥰

You mentioned that they didn’t sing “green green dress” in the movie - it is from the original musical and a version played in the movie when Jonathan and Susan were… y’know ;)

Lin-Manuel Miranda saved my sanity over the pandemic. All of his projects, from Hamilton to Moana, Encanto, In the Heights, Vivo, and Tick Tick Boom - I watched and listened to them all of the time. The "Sunday" brunch song makes me cry, all of those wonderful cameos.

I really enjoyed your reaction. And you have a really good ear for music, able to sing along (with fine pitch and rhythm) the very first time you hear a song. Phones of the time (what we now call landlines) were plugged into their own network, separate from the electrical system. So it was still possible to make calls when the electricity was off. The movie is full of brief appearances by major New York musical-theater actors. There's no reason for you to recognize them, of course, but that's why the song "Sunday" is staged the way it is -- every one of the people you see is someone important in that world, including original cast members of Rent and other musicals.

Thank you, @DelGuy03 It's something I've kind of picked up after years of singing (in the car 😂), but I still can't compare with friends who are actual singers. Oh, that's very convenient during a blackout. I didn't realize that. It's awesome that they made an appearance in the movie 👍
