There are any kinds of people. To be honest but maybe offensive, in my observation, most girls are not interested in history and geography.even in politics, there may be more men who care about politics than women. In addition, might in exam-orien education have a little problem. Many people do not care about subjects whose scores are not important. In junior high school and high school, I just listen to every history, geography, and biology class, and then I can take the first place in every exam. Some good student also don't care these subjects. So sometimes people ’s common sense of some things is really terrible, but it does n’t matter, it does n’t affect their daily life.

I've watch both related videos and it appears that both the American and Chinese people that were quizzed knew about the same with regard to the geographic location of countries in China and the world, which was shockingly low. I'm surprised by this because we have the world at our fingertips, literally, with all the internet available to learn. I, personally, knew very little about China but became very interested about 3 years ago, so I went online and learned. I have even began to learn mandarin through the internet and I'm 63 years old. @dennisroriksson1889 3 жыл бұрын
@@ruedelta Sure Asia did have advanced civilisations since the Bronze Age and throughout antiquity, but they never dominated the world in the same way us Europeans did. For example the Persians were a very advanced people and they even tried to conquer all of Greece, but they failed. They were able to conquer parts of Greece but their rule over those territories didn't last long. In the end the Greeks kicked the Persians out. Not only did the Greeks manage to withstand such a huge enemy as the Persians, under Alexander the Great the Greeks actually conquered Persia and built hellenic Kingdoms on the ruins of Persia. The Selucid Empire, one of those hellenic States built after the conquest of Persia by Alexander, existed for almost 250 years on the territories of the former Persian Empire. Us Europeans conquered the most and in the end we triumphed and built massive colonial Empires. The american continent, Africa and large parts of Asia, all of that was conquered by us and colonised by us. Like it or not, but it was actually us Europeans that dominanted the World for hundreds of years. And without a doubt, it is us Europeans that had the largest cultural impact on the modern World.
@ruedelta
@ruedelta 3 жыл бұрын
@@dennisroriksson1889 Well if you are using conquest as the prime determining factor of "dominate" then yes, obviously it's Europe that dominates the world. But I wouldn't bundle Europe into a single entity - after all Europeans fighting each other is just a reality of that entire period of domination and continues even through today with NATO vs Russia. It's like how I'm not picking the entirety of Asia here as my categorization. Pick a single polity, not an entire region that flattened itself through two extremely bloody wars. If you want to move away from conquest, then perhaps we can look at more useful definitions of domination.

Wow, I'm an Aussie and have never heard such a stereotype about Chinese people! We have many Chinese brothers and sisters here in Australia and they have the opposite reputation, for being highly knowledgable and very intelligent people. Someone please tell that young guy that foreign media is no more reliable and no less screened and filtered than any other. Western media chooses the stories they want to tell, and they edit and make it fit their narrative. They completely fail to report stories that don't fit their narrative, and they leave out crucial facts and put their own spin on whatever they report. I follow independent reporters from within different countries on video streaming platforms to get an idea of what is going on around the world. When you see the full footage of events like that and get the story from on the ground, you realise the contrast.

It is interesting to watch this kind of videos. It makes me wanna find an empty map and point out some countries. I give myself an 8/10 :P I'm pretty good at it. A little challenge for anyone who happen to see my comment, can you find Vanuatu on the map?

Perhaps I'm pretty interested in geography. I have to say that friends around me they can point out these countries in the video. Maybe these basic courses need to be enhanced all around China.

Maybe its due to cost, but I have noticed that Asian Boss interviews in dense cities only. I am sure that people in more rural areas have different and interesting opinions on things. It would be nice to get a mix of both.

Well, seriously, I think if you ask people culturewise, you get more content, For example, if you ask what they know about the UK, people can name quite a lot-- bands \the queen\ soccer teams\ etc. After all, most people in the world just don't care about the exact locations especially map shapes of most countries except the neighbouring ones, thus it's not a good benchmark

No European Countries are actually easy recognisable because they are too small and also unless you are really good at Geography, it is nearly impossible to recognised any particular Country.....Actually, Italy is the most recognisable Country in Europe because when we were in high school we use to compare world map and Italy fit the most easier Country among Europe to draw a map or to pick up because their Country's boundary or structure is easily recognisable.... Besides India, Brazil, US are easily recognisable? Are you high on something? Or do you know only these Countries that you thought everyone would be like you? Idiot....
