Iliana I’m not saying he should’ve learnt Portuguese and been fluent by now but you know ATLEAST looked up how to say yes and made sure it was correct, a lot of marriages are interracial and they make their vows in a different language because their s/o speaks that language and they wanna make them Feel special .So they make their vows and check them or pay someone to revise them. He’s flying all the way to Brazil for his WEDDING, something he’s been planning for a long time I bet and he didn’t even ask a single person or maybe the brides brother , in this modern world you can use apps and the internet to speak to each other

My tailor didn’t alter my dress correctly which was supposed to be done the week before my wedding and it was WAY too small, so he kept it to keep working on it and told me he would have it done by Wednesday (my wedding was on Saturday) I don’t hear from him so on Thursday night (2 days before the wedding) I drive up to his store and he was having a PARTY and was WASTED DRUNK and so I asked where my dress was so I could take it home and it wasn’t finished (completely still ripped up on the bodice) and he didn’t seem like this was an issue at all that it wasn’t done yet and yelled at me “IT’S JUST A F-ING DRESS YOU F-ING (insert racial Asian term here)!!” and tried to push me but my husband (fiancé at the time) stood in front of me so he wouldn’t hurt me So I’m bawling and take my dress and the next day (one day before the wedding) take it to another tailor to do an expedited alteration and he says that it is so messed up that it would be easier for him to alter a new dress than to fix this one 😳 So I’m trying on dresses literally THE DAY BEFORE my wedding trying to find something that would work and of course I hate everything and I’m so stressed and in the end my aunt stays up all night to help me fix my original dress and I ended up wearing it (it was held together on the inside with safety pins) but now every time I see our wedding photos I think of what happened and get just a little sad about it so we’re going to take new wedding portraits with a new dress sometime (: I also had my caterer (who was my bridesmaid’s boyfriend) back out two weeks before the wedding, but we ended up catering Chipotle which was a huge hit so that’s kinda a win but it sure was stressful at the time! TL;DR: my wedding dress tailor shouted racial slurs at me and messed up my dress so bad two days before the wedding that I had to try on dresses the day before my wedding and in the end wore the original dress, held together by safety pins on the inside

Ok, ok, ok... Here's my wedding horror story. So weeks before the wedding I had my wedding gown picked out and tailored and everything was perfect. I paid for my stylist and makeup artist to bring me my gown, and do my makeup for the special day at Vegas. Right? So that night the stylist and makeup artist hooked up, partied all night and never showed at my wedding prep. I hunted down the 2; who were still sleeping it off; to get my dress and they brought the wrong dress. Mine was still sitting in LA. I had go rent an off the rack frumpy number from the chapel. It looked like my chihuahua had at it. The 2 "helpers" had ordered room service on my card, never showed up to my wedding, and checked out before we returned to hotel. How's that for pathetic?

The weekend of my wedding, my parents were yelling at everyone and saying that everything was horrible. On my wedding day, none of our cousins, aunts, or uncles came (out of everyone we invited, only our parents, grandparents, siblings and a few friends came). My siblings were late, and they were my bridesmaids and groomsmen. My parents were still yelling at everyone, and during the father-daughter dance, my *dad yelled at me* and *stormed off* in the middle of it. And the *WORST PART* was the night before the wedding, my father-in-law tried to talk my hubby out of getting married because of the way my parents were acting... No joke

Every time I met with our wedding coordinator leading up the wedding I had to remind her that my mom was dead! every time! I couldn't hire someone else cause she came with the venue (which we loved and everyone else who worked there was amazing). Even when we were doing the rehearsal the day before the wedding she goes "ok and where's the mother of the bride? who's walking her down the aisle?". I finally just snapped and turned to her and said "she's dead! just like every other time we've talked about it!" and she actually has the nerve to respond "oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I didn't know". She was also pissed off when we told her at the rehearsal that a family member had a medical emergency and wasn't going to make it to the wedding and she was concerned how it would look in her photos to have 2 empty seats at a table! We told her we still planned on paying for the meals but she was more upset about how 2 empty seats would reflect on her! Best part, no one to complain to because she owned the venue!

I have to add my story--for my first marriage , our wedding was a traditional Catholic wedding. When we went to light the Unity candle, my veil got in the flame and literally started burning. I saw this huge hole in veil right in front of eyes. So to not freak out and hide it from our guests, I casually put my veil back. Then we turned around and I acted like Nothing happened. Thank God my eyebrows didn’t singe or something more catastrophic! I think this was a sign that I shouldn’t have gone through with it! Unfortunately our marriage only lasted 2.5 years. Lesson: pay attention to signs! 😀

Before my sister’s wedding, my niece came forward and told my sister and now brother-in-law (Who are her parents) that his Stepdad molested her. 1) She was only 10 years old at the time. 2) her biological father is not in her life and these were the only paternal grandparents she’s ever known. She grew up playing with her soon to be siblings in their house, she loved them, and called them grandma and grandpa, etc. 3) They put a restraining order on him, lawyered up, and apparently had evidence to convict, but The “grandma”/Mother of the groom TOOK HIS SIDE (claimed my niece was lying for attention, denied all allegations etc.) It all came to a head the night before the wedding when he was finally arrested, she came to the venue when everyone in the wedding party was making final preparations, threatened to disown the groom, make wild accusations that had to do/ and nothing to do with the incident , the police were called… The majority of the family wasn’t on her side per say, Because this wasn’t the first time he had molested kids, however because they “felt torn” between two sides, the majority of the groom’s side ended up not coming to the wedding. The wedding itself went on without incident, but I wouldn’t have been surprised if the whole ordeal was lingering in everyone’s minds. I know it was in mine. Obviously, I spent a lot of time with my niece during the reception and she seemed like she was having a blast. Last I heard, the Pedophile was found guilty and the Mom hasn’t spoken them since. (This was three years ago) However, my niece is living her best life, goes to therapy regularly, and while I’m not privy to all details, my sister tells me that my niece and brother in law are coping very well with the situation.

At the wedding of one of my mom's cousins a fight broke out right after the ceremony. Turns out this cousin invited all of her brothers and sisters, but they did not all get along, some were not on speaking terms. The two brothers who were not on speaking terms got into a fist fight on the doorstep of the venue, an ambulance had to be called. Their poor sister who got married comforted their crying mother for most of the wedding party.

I really love my bf but we joke about marrying just for the benefits... but I suppose that's because we don't see marriage as a defining factor in our relationship- married or not our relationship is what it is and we love it either way.

I was an hour late to the ceremony because I forgot EVERYTHING AT HOME. The corset, the petty coat, the shoes, and HIS RING! Then I’m waiting to walk down the aisle with my dad, bridesmaids gone and flower girls walk, and I FORGOT MY BOUQUET in the other building. My dad booked it and we walked. The rest of the ceremony was fine and the reception was great, but man if I’m not the least prepared bride 😂

Yeah our families were so eager to get our wedding under wraps and cleaned up before our guests left. Our family completely cut out all of our dancing we had planned, they tried getting me to cut the cake before I'd eaten any food (and I was pregnant), and everyone insisted the weather was going to be lousy for an outdoor forest wedding so I was pressured into renting an old grange hall and the weather that day ended up being perfect! That's not to mention all the rules for dresses/shoes, speeches, wedding colors, flowers vs fake flowers and colors, random guest drama and a last minute drop out of the officiant that happened leading up to the day of. Our wedding was known as the least expensive and it definitly looked like it. But hey we are approaching our 10th anniversary this October 😊 My husband promised we'll redo it our way at a vow renewal one day 😂

So, I sorta know how you feel...

Poured down on my wedding day as well. Watched the rain come down all day while my bridesmaids were getting their hair and makeup done, and while I was getting my makeup done (I was last), rain stopped. An hour before the wedding started. And it stayed not raining for another 3 hours, then by that time, we were all inside at the reception, eating and dancing. SO. LUCKY. I feel for that bride who was told "it's lucky!". Everyone told me that too, and my thought was "okay sure, BUT I WANT IT TO STOP!".
