Destinee Roxana Velasco the whole idea of the epi is expensive designer clothing, so I feel she always gets jipped in that category. Most plus sized clothes in everyday wear are more expensive than the typical small medium large.

I loved Freddie's makeover with Curly! This series is fun but also feels like it encourages fast fashion sometimes. Though I'm glad they addressed how buying plus size secondhand is also harder. They're def heading in the right direction but I still feel like Chloe could've done a better job- an oversized jean jacket is one of the most common pieces you can find in the world of vintage, whereas fast fashion (even if it's secondhand) is for more trendy/less basic pieces. Vintage denim is almost always better quality than what was made within the last 5-10 years when FF really hit. Just check the men's section of a thrift store or Etsy/eBay for online! And true, FF is usually cheapest in the short term but if you factor in the longevity of the jacket and social costs behind putting it on the market, thrifting vintage is the way to go, especially with a jean jacket. Also don't be afraid to ask for more/clearer/modeled pics when buying things online! (That Poshmark seller is sh*tty and I hope Chloe reports them)
@JCstrikesagain
@JCstrikesagain 4 жыл бұрын
@@lolalacey1377 you don't have to be rude because I feel it is worth mentioning in a comment that Chloe buying second hand is great. Given how polluting the fashion industry is, people in comments of videos congratulating those for being more eco-friendly may encourage video producers to buy more second hand items. Perhaps you should keep the snarky comments to yourself.
@heysaucemikehere1804
@heysaucemikehere1804 4 жыл бұрын
Lola Lacey There is absolutely no point is saying this, they were expressing their opinion that they _enjoyed_ the fact that they did secondhand. In the video they just say that they are _doing_ secondhand. Getting comments saying that they enjoyed it will make them more likely to do it more often. Please think before you speak.

I really wish they would include a “middle ground” option. A lot of people are trying to move away from fast fashion, but if they only compare it to $1,000 clothing it isn’t as helpful for the average shopper.

The thing I can't deal with Nina's how the print doesn't align. All the way down the back it's just off and wonky. Chloe should absolutely give a poor review for her jacket, the seller completely misrepresented what the buyer was getting...elbows are an important part of jackets

Chloe should’ve gotten the depop jacket instead! I knew she wouldn’t love the Poshmark jacket considering it said the size was small and not oversized... Also, while the grid pattern of Nina’s cheap jacket was cool, her trench option would’ve been better to compare to her expensive one.

If Chloe wants to repurpose her denim jacket, she might try cutting the sleeves off for a denim vest or going one step further and replacing the sleeves with ones from another jacket she might find at a thrift store. The 2nd jacket wouldn't have to be denim and that might make a great look depending on what she found.

They should do a video where they have to style the cheaper options that they buy or upcycle or change them somehow. .

“Thrifted is more expensive than fast fashion.” it is not lol, y'all are just too lazy to take time to search good deals. The audacity of saying something like this when americans have sooooo many thrift/charity stores lol. I mean thrifting is more difficult to shop fast-fashion but not more expensive. You just have to practice thrifting tbh.

uh.. you gotta keep in mind the different places. that's california, also you don't have to be so aggressive jesus. for me thrifting is not easy, the items there are not worth their price and i'd rather buy from fast-fashion stores especially those that are such a low price

@@para-yw9dn never said it was easy but it is her job to do this video and they are a ton of second-hand choices in their aera. As a big channel they should set a example as adressing the issue of fast-fashion. Fast-fashion is destroying lifes in south-asia and the planet. I understand it can be time consuming and diffucult for some people (like plus-sized girls or disabled ones) but that is not the case for her here. I am just annoyed at they video promoting fast-fashion all the time. Also luxury brands are often not much better lol

You also have to be in the mood for it. Sometimes you're just not in the mood or mainframe to go searching for the deals.

This. I get the argument of 'it's not easy to find something' for Jazzmyne. But the other two honestly have no excuse. And I say that as someone who buys basically everything but underwear from the thrift store.

You should make that blurb about fast fashion at 1:51 a disclaimer that you play before every fashion video. Or at least something similar to it

Good on you for being environmentally conscious! Fast fashion industries are contributing to lots of waste, and I'm proud that you are looking at other options.

I would put cool material on the underside of that denim jacket where the holes are. I just did a pair of jeans and I put lace where one of the holes are and it looks pretty cool

Quick tip for buying stuff oversized: go to the mens section and go one size up from your usual one at least with the letter sizes from XS to however many XLs that works amazing. Men's sizes are already one size up to womens sizes even if they have the same size printed on them so you effectively go two sizes up.
