This is for people who are overwelmed with other planetary stacking programs and want a simple stacking and processing tool.

How awesome! I have the ASI Studio but haven't used it except as a Fit's Viewer. I can see I need to try this video stacker.

Thanks! I'm going to show this to my Astrophotography class this week.

Thanks for this. I agree, definitely want to see save as TIFF or PNG soon. Seems crazy to buy a good ZWO camera for quality then lose much of the clarity through JPG compression.

Thanks for commenting. I think they will add this eventually but most of the advanced planetary images would not even try this software.
@davidrankin8427 Жыл бұрын
@@sol_man true, but if zwo are investing time to develop this software, they must have goals to not just be another player in this software market. Autostakkert and registax are great but they are old, hardly supported, and 2 separate process (3 if you add PIPP). A single pane of glass experience, even a simpler version could succeed, just needs a bit more features like png/tiff, etc

@@davidrankin8427 I've been using Astrosurface now for planetary and do most of the processing in Astrosurface. I do the final tweaking in Affinity photo and Topaz denoise or sharpen.

You show a solar image at the start but then switch to Jupiter. Have you successfully used AsiVideostack for solar?
@sol_man9 ай бұрын
Yes I have and it works well. I try different stacking programs on all my shots and I pick the one I think looks best. i also ude photoshop and Topaz to do final editing.

What capture settings did you use for Jupiter? I’ve been trying to get this for months now but all I get is a fuzzy blob with barely visible bands and every time I save a file of Jupiter it registers it as Saturn?

What scope are you using and how good is the seeing? If you have bad seeing you will not be able to get a good clear shot. I use the max gain of 300 to try and get the fastest frame rate and only take as many frames I could get in 60 seconds for Jupiter and Mars, you can go longer for Saturn. What software are you using to capture? All the software usually has a place where you can setup the naming and where it is saved. In asicap go to the top right of the page and click on the gear symbol. A page with come up with all solar system objects, click on the object you want to image and it will make a folder for it and the name of the object will be in the name of the file.

Skywatcher 10inch Dobsonian with a ZWO ASI224MC using the same programs you are, I’m also using a 2x Barlow and 7 exposure with 140 gain. I stack 20% of it.

When I try to drag an Avi file into Asivideostack it crashes. Any idea why?
@sol_man9 ай бұрын
How large are your files, that might be the problem.
@bhastro99599 ай бұрын
@@sol_man - 4 gig, and yes it does seem to accept smaller files.
