Let me start by saying ibwas a snoker from 12 until 36, i'm 37 now...NOW, Ok view it this way: You have ONLY TWO CHOICES- smoke and risk dying MUCH sooner than necessary (and ANY smoker WILL suffer from SOMETHING due to the 🚬 smoking, it's not a matter of it, it's WHEN) imagine a sudden crushing heart attack or having to sit mist the day on an oxygen device because you CAN'T BREATHE. And MANY other things, like having to break the news to your family that you have some aggressive cancer..... there's many nasty things that could happen. And without much warning ⚠️ YOU might love them cigarettes. But they certainly won't live you back. You're literally PAYING to die slowly... OR you can turn that around, feel SO much more energy, being able to FLY uphill or upstairs while being able to be able to breathe, NOT having that fear in the back of your head or even existential dread/anxiety about health concerns due to smoking and not smelling like pure SH*T and having people avoid you like the plague or find your presence completely and annoyingly GROSS to tolerate. Doing all the things you ABSOLUTELY LOVE and having many more years to be able to do them! Not having to step out all the time, or being a nuisance to other non smokers while in their car by having to make a stop to have a cig then coming in and smelling like SH*T! You can just do anything and be anywhere without having to step aside or "disappear" for 10-20 minutes because you're in a non-smoking area... TRUST ME- IT'S SO WORTH IT!! I have a friend in hospice that got cancer of the colon, just to have it spread RAPIDLY over the course of the year and I still remember a text with him telling me how scared he was and how much he wanted to live because he had an amazing life and wanted to live it.... and HE DIDNT EVEN SMOKE...AND had NO family history of cancer! HOW is that fair!? Now think to yourself "I still have a chance to get what this poor guy didn't and didn't even do anything to ask for it"! It's NOT THAT HARD.. I also battled drug addiction for 13 years and I can PROMISE YOU that there are FAR worse things to come off of! Stay strong. YOU CAN DO IT ❤

What an inspiring lady. Val's story describes me to a tee. I've been smoking for 39 years and the mornings are the most difficult time for me. I've been monitoring my smoking for the last two weeks and I smoke the majority of cigarettes in the first two hours after getting up. I know that panic feeling when I can't find a lighter and yeah, I've lit cigarettes off of the grill and the toaster as well. I'm so grateful for your channel. Thanks 😊

Thanks for sharing this story. I'm at the beginning of my quitting with the CBQ system. I'm excited about it, but at the same time I'm scared to death of it for some reason. I started smoking 52 years ago when I went to collage and have tried about every method of quitting over the years. I got up to about 4 months of quitting 1 time, then fell for that "oh well, 1 won't hurt anything" trick. This time I am determined to make this program work for me. But I'm finding myself sabotaging my commitment. I stopped writing down when I was smoking before I finished the 1st day. I've been "too busy" to watch the next video twice. So now I'm going to go back to day 1 and start over. With God all things are possible.

I never did the mint thing. I smoked and never tried to hide it. She’s right, one puff and in a few days we are back to a full blown habit! I could not scale back the smoking, it was impossible. I just chose the quit date and smoked as normal until that day and the last cigarette on that day was the last cigarette.

Val is GREAT! I'm turning 50 this week and realized that the ONLY thing I've brought along with me from my past is cigarettes. I've quit before and started again when my Dad passed in 2016. I'm breaking free of this trauma and addiction so I can be more kind to myself. That was my big takeaway from Val. We're doing something kind for ourselves! That's huge!

I haven't smoked cigarettes for 5 years but I started vaping instead. I hadn't been free from nicotine for 35 years. I had convinced myself vaping was safer than smoking and I mixed my own eliquid at 3mg. Decided last week I was finished and gave up. Going cold turkey and it's been tough but I'm determined to finally be free of nicotine. Every day it gets easier. Hardest part of quitting is making that first step.

@@scenttrails2703 I'm now almost 5 months free of nicotine and I don't miss it at all. Not saying it's been easy but every day gets a little bit easier. I never even think about it now. Stick at it and you can do it. You've done the hardest part by quitting. Keep it up. 👍

@Jack T still quit. Never think about it now. Over 2 years nicotine free. Hard for the first 6 or 7 months but if I can do it anyone can. I was a 40 a day cigarette smoker and when I vaped I used 25ml of 3mg juice per day. I was heavily addicted. So much healthier and much richer too. 😂
@drewscott2753
@drewscott2753 Жыл бұрын
@Jack T never. The smell of others doing it is actually unpleasant and makes me feel a bit sick to be honest. Best thing I ever did. If your quitting take it one day at a time and if you slip up and have one then don’t beat yourself up about it. Just go again. You will get there eventually. It takes 90 days to break a habit and trust me if you get to 90 days you’ve beaten it. 👍

Val, you are brilliant. I love how peaceful you are now. Everything you said resonated with me and if you could stop a 2 pack a day habit, then surely I can do this too. I love your analogy to needing to take it a day at a time to rewire your brain--it's a process and always remember that it just takes one cigarette to take you back down the chute (like in Snakes and Ladders). Thanks so much for being so refreshingly honest and warm and down to earth. You have inspired me enormously. Tomorrow is my "wait one hour before smoking" and I know I can do it thanks to you. I send a big hug from Vancouver Canada!

Thanks for sharing Vals video. I had to smile and say yep on her explanation of people's response when one shares "I have been smoke free for______days and they say, "Is that all". Talk about a WOW moment! It is nice to be able to look back and smile about it now. Encouraged again

My twin brother Robb and I are struggling as well with writing the cigs down and keeping to the commitment, however I'm having pain in my calves walking up steps and numbness in my feet. All of the indications are there and one hour at a time I'm being quite conscious of this rough addiction. Thanks Val for the encouragement and Thanks Nasia for posting these support videos. God Bless!!!

I'm on week 3 and really starting to feel better.... ide say the first 2 weeks are the worst....plus my gut felt so off....I felt bloated....like my stomach didn't know what to do without nicotine. I now feel better now....and being able to smell and taste is wonderful. I kept thinking I'm missing out if I don't smoke, I'm missing out.....but this time, I realized I'm missing out on life... if I do.....
