Long Haul, ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, MCAS, Chronic Lyme. These illnesses happen for multiple different reasons, it is just that the end results, the symptoms that people are suffering, can look the same. But how you got there, and what treatment you need, often depends on your own individual biochemistry and genetics.
Dr. Parpia and Dr. Gordon talked about some of the generalities and some of the specifics in complex chronic illness, and hopefully gave a wider viewpoint to look at this from, which can help you on your healing journey.

Some of the ❓ ❓ ❓ asked during the webinar:
❓ What can you do when you have or had both Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and COVID, whether you had MCAS before and it got worse, or whether COVID triggered it? Are there any treatments other than antihistamines?
❓ What about if you had ME/CFS before COVID, and it got exacerbated?
What about spike protein, vascular, and endothelial symptoms? Are there any tests for micro clotting? What about treatments?
❓ Is there a test or clinical diagnostic criteria to determine if someone is TH1 or TH2 dominant?
❓ What about long term mold in sinuses and the brain after years of infections such as Lyme, West Nile virus, and COVID, following severe mold infection?
❓ What is your feeling on oral peptides versus injectable peptides?
❓ What are peptides?
❓ Any treatments for intense pain in long term ME/CFS?
❓ What about treatment protocols for ME/CFS in general?
❓ How do you treat someone who has developed severe anxiety post COVID?
❓ Is there a general order of treatment? How do you decide what to treat first?
There were many questions we didn’t get to, so we will be doing more webinars in the future to cover some of those areas.

Hi Mike! Thanks for letting us know you liked this! The doctors really hope to get the word out more widely on how this works, and that there is hope. We have worked with a lot of people from the UK, so if you ever decide you want to consult with us, you can talk with our new patient coordinator, and see how it works. The doctors are happy make recommendations for your local doctor to implement. Plus it educates another health care professional. gordonmedical.com/discovery-call/

I believe I have mcas that has shown up post Covid but have probably been an issue for much longer triggered most likely by high viral loads and gut dysbiosis/infections. I recently had a appointment with the clinic to see if I could become a patient there again and unfortunately prices have gone up too much for me to afford care there. But I am very much trying to put pieces of the puzzle together that was started but not finished when I was seen there from 2011-2014/15. Many high viral antibodies were high on labs but no current infections so no treatment was done. I am wondering if these high antibodies and my bodies tendency to hold onto viruses or react to them is making post Covid worse for me and what I could do about it if I can’t afford the clinic. Any suggestions on ways to modulate my immune system myself? Thank you

There isn't an easy answer to this. We are unable to recommend treatment without the doctor seeing you since each case is so individual, especially when it comes to Long Covid. We can keep your question in mind in case it can be answered in the next webinar though.

I’ve been diagnosed with CFS after having mono/EBV. Luckily I do have a Wonderful PCP that’s believes & is treating my symptoms. Unfortunately it’s mainly me having to do the majority on research. What other bloodwork would you recommend other than the norm?
@GordonMedicalAssociates

With CFS and many of the other chronic conditions our patients come to use with, we usually start by looking for underlying infections and toxins. We like Great Plains Lab for toxins and Infectolab for tick-borne illnesses. Other tests vary for each patient.

I have Chronic Lyme and long Covid. I also have a root canal. How worried should I be about the root canal? Remove it? Can I do an implant if I remove it?
@GordonMedicalAssociates
@GordonMedicalAssociates Жыл бұрын
We always recommend you see a good biological dentist to assess any possible issues with things like a root canal. They will order the proper imaging and testing to see if there might be occult infection there.

I am a single mother of four. I contracted covid 2 years ago. I have long covid and am not able to work. I would like to know how to or what to do to get my pcp, who is a new doctor for me, to take my symptoms more seriously?
@GordonMedicalAssociates
@GordonMedicalAssociates Жыл бұрын
That isn't an easy one. The problem can be that the testing the regular doctors do doesn't show any abnormalities, so they can think you are fine. Check out our previous webinar on What Your Doctor Might Be Missing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYq2n6SjeraUm5I We have a list of labs there that we suggest. Maybe your doctor would be open to looking further into some of the possible causes for your symptoms. Things like previously latent infections or toxins. There is even a segment in the webinar on what to suggest to a doctor you already have. Doctors don't like to look into symptoms they don't think they can do anything about. Perhaps if there were solutions to your symptoms, they might be more open? Best of luck!

do you treat smell and taste loss from covid?
@GordonMedicalAssociates
@GordonMedicalAssociates Жыл бұрын
Hi Matt, depending on the cause of the ongoing loss, it may be possible to treat. Dr. Parpia has a very complete protocol for treating sinus issues that can cause all kinds of neurological problems. I'll grab you some links to video clips on those. Here is a summary of what the doctors addressed in the webinar as far as this issue: "The initial loss of smell seems to be not so much nerve damage, but the supporting tissues of the nerves in the nose and the olfactory bulb, in the nose parts before it gets into your brain, the supportive tissues are injured by COVID, the nerves aren't directly injured in the beginning. Then there is the neural issue of whether there is persistent spike protein that is keeping inflammation going locally. We can test for this. There are ways to bring inflammation down in the sinuses. There may be some chronic sinusitis, so we can do a test to look for what infections other than COVID might still be present. If there are other infections in the sinuses, they're also creating inflammation that can cross the blood brain barrier via the olfactory nerve. So there are ways to treat the bugs in the sinuses, and to bring inflammation down in the sinuses, inflammation that crosses the blood brain barrier. And just to emphasize here, once again, is that the damage may have happened and be gone. And then secondary issues keep inflammation going, that do not let healing happen completely. Inflammation is your body's first response to the damage. You have to get to the healing phase. We look for what is blocking that healing."
