Cliffe *KNOWS* this isn't true. He *KNOWS* Einstein even *complained* about his words being abused like that, by people like Cliffe. It takes just _one_ of such devious, calculated lies to know who you're dealing with, here. (but there are many more of these lies and _knowingly_ false reasonings of his) Go be ashamed of yourself, Cliffe (i'm pretty sure you just laugh at this, all the way to the bank, living off of the money of the gullible)

P.G. Burgess Sure, I would agree, many people do illogically accept certain scripture text and translations incorrectly. Yes it goes both ways. But the core Christian doctrine doesn't need interpretation. Also an atheist worldview/belief that we're all material and we're here today based on stuff being created out of nothing is unreasonable/illogical as well.

I think as Christians, we need to be honest and speak truth. Yes, it does seem boring to worship day and night for eternity. But I'm going to assume when I do get to heaven, my desires won't be based on my fleshly desires. C'mon people, its not rocket science. If there is a God, if Jesus is Lord and if he did rise on the 3rd day, if the Bible is true, if Heaven does exist, it will be better than anything we know today on earth. Shouldn't be that hard to say.

Even worse (perhaps you dont describe to this idea) is that in heaven, you will not feel sadness for your family and friends that are in hell or annihilited?

@JoeMama-sd2kl3 жыл бұрын
Yep. Evolution as a process is a real thing that we see on animals, however evolution in itself doesnt explain origin (like a living state coming from a non living state) nor other important things such as the meaning of life like you said. Survival of the fittest and passing your genes as a purpose to living is a shallow and empty one imo.

at about 0:25 seconds Cliffe says God created us with innate worth. What about all the millions of babies and young children who have lived very short lives and have known nothing but pain, misery, starvation and ultimately death?, why did God create them? and what innate worth did they have? From an evolutionary viewpoint it makes more sense to me that they were born and died because of various tragic and terrible circumstances, they could have been born in a region of the world that was undergoing a great famine, perhaps in an area plagued with mosquito's that infected the child with malaria, or born in a war zone, I can find logical reasons why children die, but when Cliffe says that we are born with innate worth, and then, that child or baby dies in terrible pain and agony, I fail to grasp what he means.
@SusanJenkinsArtist9 жыл бұрын
bonnie43uk That is a valid question Bonnie. It is indeed so hard to understand pain and suffering in this world. The age old question is, "How could a loving God allow such suffering?" This seems like a reason in itself to not believe in God, and to believe He is evil and created us to suffer. The problem is that from our human perspective we don't see the whole truth. We must seek God for His Truth and His Word is the only Truth. The God of the universe created all things GOOD. There would have never been any suffering, death, pain, etc if mankind had not sinned. The world we now experience is a result of sin. Yet, God loved us so much that He came to this earth to pay the penalty for sin so that ALL who believe in Him can be reborn and have life eternal. It's so hard I know to understand this when there is an enemy in this world who has done such a good job of making the Bible seem like an old antiquated book that is not relevant for today. But when we really call upon God for understanding His truth can be understood. There are probably not enough words I can share in this response to convince you of all the error in the thinking of today's supposed "intellectuals".... but I will end in saying that without God everything is meaningless.... and with God the light of Truth saves the soul. Blessings and love.
@ChuckBarchuk9 жыл бұрын
bonnie43uk Hi Bonnie! Interesting point. Well I would assume all these children are in heaven. And if they are I doubt they are missing their existence on earth. I could be wrong though. Seems to me the earth has or had at one time enough resources for everyone to have food and their basic needs met. You could argue that God did do something then: He created you and I and everyone else. So maybe all of us need to get off our apathetic buttocks and do something about it. Anyhow If heaven is real then I think that changes things. I do agree from our perspective it seems pointless to have created these children. But just because we don't see the reason doesn't mean one doesn't exist. If God has absolute knowledge then how can we possibly know all the how's and why's. I know this goes into the whole mystery of God territory which kind of stinks but it's all I got...lol. But still it doesn't make watching all the suffering going on all over the world any easier. It troubles me deeply. But I guess I would rather have hope that God exists and ultimate justice and redemption will come to all these people as oppose to believing they will get none at all. Just my 1 cent. :)
@fellowservant349 жыл бұрын
bonnie43uk Concerning the "millions of babies" who died early, what is early to God? First off, if you believe the Bible, you know we live in a cursed world. We don't believe in a sinless dwelling until Jesus returns. Secondly, the value of a human being to God is not determined by number of days on earth. As a matter of fact, in the Bible many prophets of God not only died early, but experienced horrible deaths. (the upside is they get to see God earlier:) Only the Creator of life gets to justly determine when certain life periods He created expire.
@ImmaKakarot19 жыл бұрын
bonnie43uk Why do millions of babies and children live short lives or die prematurely? When we are born physically we are sons of Adam. So there's always a chance that our fallen genetics manifests itself as a disease or physical disability. That is why there is death to begin with. The fall of Adam caused a curse on all of creation. That is why we need to be born again in spirit. That is when we become sons of God instead of Adam and in our next lives we will have new perfect bodies. Jesus did not come to make bad men good, but to make dead men live.
@bonnie43uk9 жыл бұрын
Susan Jenkins Hi Susan, thanks for your reply, yes indeed, it's one of the hardest questions to answer. If there is a loving God, why is there so much pain in the world?. You said that from our human perspective we don't see the whole truth, which I suppose can be seen as a valid answer from a Christian perspective. As I said, from an evolutionary perspective though, it makes perfect sense, some people are born in places around the world that, for many different reasons, will mean their life will be one of pain, struggle and death. You and I were lucky enough to be born in fairly affluent parts of the globe, hunger and malaria aren't part of our daily lives. The main crux of my question though was a response to Cliffe saying "we were created with worth", I can't see how that tallies in with young children and babies dying in pain and misery.. Cliffe says we are all born with a purpose, but it's very hard to see it from his perspective when you are a mother in lets say Ethiopia who has just had to bury her daughter who died of starvation. To simply say, we do not see the whole truth falls quite a bit short for me. The "God works in mysterious ways" answer just leaves me very frustrated.

There are 12 systems in the body (Google it) .....all that information demands a superior mind the alternative is that we came from innate matter i.e Intelligence cannot come from the"Innate" ....that is what is really absurd fiction. If the universe had no meaning, then how would a person (who is purely a product of that universe) ever arrive at the conclusion that it has no meaning? To invoke an argument from CS Lewis, if there were no light in the universe, and therefore no creatures with eyes, how would we ever come to the conclusion that there is a state called “darkness”? Darkness would be without meaning.
@danweaver43044 жыл бұрын
When Cliffe uses those terms, he is referring to notable humanist philosophers like Nietzsche, Skinner, Russell, etc. The concept is not “absurd fiction”, but one of the philosophical foundational pillars. Other religions might refer to it as reaching nirvana, or attaining oneness with the universe. Christianity considers Jesus Christ to be the source who gives ultimate purpose to our lives, meaning there is no deeper meaning to be found.
@Houston8104 жыл бұрын
@@richsuga You are speaking of darkness descriptively in reference to light. CS Lewis is simply making the point that a contrast is necessarily for descriptions of contrasts to exist. Interestingly though your first sentence has no contrast, they are both states of meaninglessness... so I don't know where you are going with that.
