The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

One reason people forget why our connection* with Jesus on this world is broken is because Lucifer has a strong influence on this world. But God always finds a way into our lives. His love hits close to home but the fact that anyone finds Jesus in this Godless world is a miracle within itself. One day i pray to go meet you brothers in New Canaan, God Bless your hearts!

I agree with your point wholeheartedly. As uncomfortable as it is to believe, Satan has much more influence on us than people think. Paul Harvey released a poem titled "If I were the Devil" and it rings so true today.

Cliffle/Stuart, I know you may not see this, but i want to thank you from the deepest parts of my heart for answering some of the questions I've had. I grew up Catholic and stopped practicing the faith for years. I then found your youtube channel, and watching and listening to you two preach the Lord's wisdom, teaching, and forgiveness has encouraged me to get back on my faith in Jesus Christ as my lord and savior, outside from Catholicism. For that, I have to thank you with words that I can not describe. I love watching you guys preach with such pride and conviction and feel and sense the love radiating onto the people you talk to, and I absolutely love it and am all for it. I have full faith that i will go to heaven because of Jesus and the Lord, and it has given me such relief. I break down in tears almost every day, thinking about the love that Jesus and the Lord have for me. I plan on reading the bible every single day going into 2025, and you are to thank. Truly, I am thankful for the Holy Spirit leading me to you guys to reignite my faith, and truly, i am thankful for you too. I hope you have everlasting great health and continue the work. Thanks, I love you guys ❤

20:16 sorry dude, I’m pretty sure Cliff feels bad about how the dialogue in this one turned out but if I heard you correctly you said you used to be a Christian. God is just to finish to good work He started in you. I pray you keep searching for the truth and understand that people’s feelings get the best of them, that feelings can be fickle as they tend to change from one perspective to another and one view to another and that the conviction of feelings might be embedded through teachings or as a cry for growth in the moment. Even perhaps the opposite: like something that sounds like honesty but is simply the means of vocalizing a heart that wants to die on the mountain or its choosing and is conveying that tonality through a dialogue of thought. I appreciated hearing your side of the conversation I hope Cliff shook your hand afterwards and then some. God bless you friend 🙏🏽

I thought Cliffe was a little rough on the Asian student, Cliffe answer was good saying that God will be the final judge but I wonder if he stifled the question? It was a legitimate and really provocative question that seems extremely difficult to answer, and I can relate to that question as well, but I wouldn’t like being talked to like Cliffe did when the student opened his seeking heart with an honest question. I feel bad for that sincere student and I wish they could re-do that conversation. I really like Cliffe and am very grateful to hear his work, thanks Cliffe.

The young man at the end asked why is he so apathetic towards following Jesus... I would say because if he looked deep down in his heart he would recognize that he, just like me, just like Cliff, is more desiring to live life on his own terms versus following God's. Calling oneself a Christian and actually being a follower of Jesus are two very different things. Living life God's way is SO difficult. Praying for you young man.

17:30 what a terrible attitude from cliffe! "where do you get off?" umm, this dude just explained that he was listening to his muslim friend give their testimony. cliffe says "you don't understand their motives, their environment" the dude responds, "they are coming from the same environment as me" and cliffe quickly responds "NO THEY'RE NOT" how dismissive! how does cliffe know this guy's muslim friend better than he does? cliffe then says "you're not so smart that you understand what's going on inside the mind of a muslim." thanks cliffe, very helpful. I agree we can't understand the mind of ANYONE . . . until we communicate! and that is exactly what this kid was doing, communicating with his muslim friend about their experience. cliffe retorts by saying "there's a lot more to me than what comes out of my mouth" and that is true, but when we communicate with each other we have to accept what each person is saying at face value. cliffe doesn't know the kind of relationship this dude has with his muslim friend, and for him to pronounce that the motives of the muslim friend are unknowable makes for a very vapid and weak argument.

Cliffs point about historicity was good, but another good point to bring up when the guy asked about why were there not any eyewitnesses who were "not" believers bringing any testimony about Jesus, the point would be, "Would you witness someone walk on water, or be killed with certainty, and then see him risen 3 days later, would you witness any of that, and decide "not" to become a follower?" No sane person would witness those miracles and decide to not believe. So, this would cause a sampling bias of some sort I think.

Love the point you're trying to make! These followers WEREN'T always followers. Some were likely very skeptical and unconvinced until Jesus gave them evidence of who he was. Even his own brother James was a HUGE skeptic! John Ch. 7:1-5 is a reference to all his brothers questioning Jesus.

I would love for you guys to write a non debate series on how to think and behave as a Christian and how to truly repent and live free from sin
@IthinkImOk-k7g
@IthinkImOk-k7g Ай бұрын
The simple answer to how to behave like a Christian is this: Matthew 22:36-39 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ So… be patient, helpful, kind, compassionate, empathetic, generous, slow to anger, easy to forgive, etc.. Treat everyone like they are a member of your family. And we know that sin starts in the mind. Matthew 5:27-28 27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart…” So, we need to guard our thoughts. I believe Martin Luther said that “We can’t stop the birds from flying over our heads, but we CAN stop them from building a nest in our hair.” Bottom line: try to please God all day, every day. It is much easier if we are constantly in contact with him. Talk to him all day long.

Cliffe rightly says everyone has faith, I agree, i have faith in lots and lots of things, however, I do not have faith as in a belief of some kind of supernatural creator who is looking down on us from the heavens. The Bible never talks about science. Science is the study of process. Science can’t prove morality or anything of that sort. Morality is not a social construct, if it were then it would be relative. I'm struggling with this, can someone help me? I do believe that God is just, i do not doubt this. Psalm 98:9 says - "With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity". But if you take someone born in a Christian household, and someone born into a Muslim household, obviously it would be easier for the one from the Christian household to accept Jesus than the person raised in a Muslim household. I'm not saying it's impossible for the Muslim, just harder. This isn't equity. I struggle with this.
@WarrenrRichardson11
@WarrenrRichardson11 Ай бұрын
Many people who grew up in Christian households turn away from the faith. It’s shockingly more than you’d think… To answer your question though. No one can force you into a relationship with Jesus, speaking from the Christian household standpoint. Likewise Jesus isn’t going to force himself into a relationship with you, now speaking from the Muslim household standpoint. You have to seek that relationship for yourself and make that decision on your own. Jesus also isn’t hard to find especially with the help of smartphones. You have multiple Bible apps, social media accounts, the internet, etc… There’s so many ways you can seek for that relationship with Jesus. That it’s ultimately on you to, “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all things will be added onto you”. Now if we’re talking about someone who is completely cut off from anything Jesus, due to their environment then that’s a different story. As Cliffe would say “I do not know” how those people will be judged, but you said it yourself it’s in the Bible that, “God is just”. So I believe He will find a means to judge them equally and fairly. Hopefully that helps (:

@WarrenrRichardson11 I don't disagree with this. But consider a child, born to a militant Muslim family in Gaza. I think it would be infinitely harder for him to grow up and give his life to Jesus, especially if he were to die at say, 20, than it would a pastors kid growing up in Texas. Again, I don't doubt God is just at all, so I'm wondering if there is more to this equity judgement than we know

25:43 why would we expect somebody who witnessed miracles of Jesus to write as an unbeliever? The closest we have are the Pharisees and scribes But one of the best criteria for judging the testimony of the believers in scripture is the fact that they made themselves look stupid a lot of the time. They were trying to be accurate as possible. And in doing so they made themselves look, faithless many times. That would not be done if you were trying to gin up support for a false narrative and gain followers.

If they don't find truth, and God is perfect, who's fault is it? It's definitely not God. People can say they tried really hard, but once you poke at them long enough, you may find really why they can't find truth. They're either blind to that or they just don't want to give up that thing that's holding them back. They don't want to admit that there's a barrier between them and the truth. It's kind of like how many people are so insulted or hurt when someone calls them out for being bad because in their mind, they think they're a good person. That's many people.

You make a great point. I was thinking along the same line. I would ask, "What is your bias?" "What have you decided is impossible to be true?" Then, if they are honest, you have a great starting point. Like you said, "If you keep poking?" the answer will eventually surface. At that point, they may realize their stumbling block.

@JiraiyaSama86 Spare me the "by definition" nonsense. If God is perfect and wants everyone to know he exists, then they will. God's will is supposedly sovereign. If that is true and his will is that they know him then, the opposite is impossible. If his will is that they never know him and burn for eternity, then he is not perfect.

@vladtheemailer3223 It's not definition nonsense. That tells me you were never taught the definition or you just don't like it. He's not perfect by our definition but His. He gives us the free will to pull the veil over our own eyes. He won't force Himself on us, so if you choose to keep the veil over your eyes, He lets you. Whether you burn is up to you. You choose either to take His hand or go your own way.

Hey Cliffe, in love just wanted say it’s ok we tell some people the way they are going they are bound for hell. We all are unless Jesus knows us. Disciples of Jesus work very hard for the King. I know for a fact Heaven is real, Hell is real. Let’s just stay true to Christ word, many will say Lord Lord and he’ll say I never knew you. Seems to lead that 2/3 of modern ‘Christians’ won’t make it. Then take all those who wave their fist to God and reject Jesus for whatever reason do go to Hell. May God and His Christ reign forever, and let’s remember we are married to Christ. He died for us and if need be we should do the same for Him. Yes, till death do us part.

The point of salvation is founded on the reason why God created humans. Here's what scriptures say: (1) There is a universe created by God and he positioned occupants there. (2) One of the occupant angels led a mutiny composed of a third of their total against God. (3) God created humans to eventually become like angels, which points to the direction that humans were made to become part of God's universe, replacing the fallen angels. So, no our being alive is not by chance, so is anything in the universe.

If people would read Gods word and stop reading all these books that tell you there is no God you could find God. When you read it tell God to prove to you He is real and that He is concerned for you. Even if you dont understand a lot of Gods word when you read it just keep reading it. Start with the new testament and keep reading. Tell God you want to know the truth. The truth of Gods word is the only thing that can change anyone. Give God a chance dont ask people what they think about the scriptures just keep reading and asking God for the answer that will change your life. If you look for answer from man you may get the wrong answer. Ive heard this preacher say things thats not right. Thats why you need God to answer you. God wants to talk to you. He wants to show you He is real.

Perhaps u are having a hard time because u feel there is a “lack of evidence” for Jesus. Well, let me share some. Dr. Gary Habermas (PHD historian) has many videos (and books) on the historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. They are very informative. He spent years researching data from both inside and outside of the Bible as well as looking at data & conclusions from other PHD historians (some of which are atheists). He is a university professor. He originally was an atheist but converted to Christianity after his research. He felt that the evidence for the resurrection being true far outweighed the data implying it was false. 1 hr 20 min. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6rCdZVqh9yNla8si=8L1ZH_EyoX63DlUd Dr. Craig S. Keener wrote a book called “Miracles Today” where he talks about the power of prayer: how people are being healed by the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. Christian missionaries all over the world witness (and take part in) healings and casting out demons on a regular basis. This is huge is India, Africa & South America where villages have shamans and witch doctors as their spiritual leaders. When someone who has been blind since birth is healed by a missionary using the power of the Holy Spirt, people in that village are extremely open to hearing about the gospel. The book specifically documents medical miracles. It shows before and after images, along with medically documented spontaneous cures. There is rigorous documentation & affidavits written by medical professionals. There are also tons of videos and testimonies out there about how people (many of them were atheists) that had a personal encounter with Jesus. Their lives were dramatically changed after that. It had such an impact that even years later when they talk about it, they get emotional. I’ll list some examples here. This video is about an Islamic terrorist (obviously very anti-Christian) who encounters Jesus in his prison cell after humbly reaching out to God. 3 minutes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZS7eISOYrGDhq8si=QB20QcD3BnsTx60l This video is about a guy had a violent abusive alcoholic father who would beat his mother. He joined a gang, becoming extremely violent, eventually ending up in prison. Total nonbeliever. It was there that he had a 1 on 1 encounter with Jesus. 6 minutes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3etonehjcqHY7ssi=8lLJcICXgtmd_nIp Video about a guy who had a promising baseball future in college, only to throw it all away. He became a non believing meth dealer, drug addict, gang member who went to prison. He was finally touched by God in prison. His life totally changed. 8 minutes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmLapHp8rd2rl5Isi=E3AiKFAG-_gB7R2- This video is about a guy whose parents divorced when he was 8 years old. He stayed with his mother, who had mental illness. He got into drugs, eventually living in a crack house. No belief in God. Hopeless outlook. His sister brought him to a Christian drug rehab center. It was there he encountered Jesus. 5 minutes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZzGZZyNbM2Ef68si=fUUrn5Q4YgWEOPC3

The Asian guy thinks that until God doesn’t show to a person that he is the ultimate truth a person is deceived into believing something else that he himself considers to be the truth. Yet, we have our own responsibility to be firstly sceptical and ask questions, to study and to study different views and to use our own free will to choose where to put our faith. If a person puts his faith into Santa Claus, and he believes this to be the truth, you might want to ask this person to wake up and see that certain evidence points to Santa Claus not being true. This person might go as far as saying well until the real God hasn’t revealed himself to me I’ll just keep on believing in Santa Claus. This is part of your own responsibility to figure out where you want to put your faith in and which example you want to follow. It’s not that you’ve been deceived by God because he didn’t show you the truth, no. Who says God hasn’t shown you the truth and you choose not to open your heart to it and see it and believe it? This young man sounds like a son angry at his father instead of being the grown man that he needs to be. The path is narrow for a reason. Blessings ❤

Everything is either God’s active will or His permissive will. His character is always at work. He doesn’t always share the ’why’ or‘how’. This is exactly why we need to pursue God in His Word through Christ Jesus. Not that we necessarily understand fully our circumstances, but that we place our faith in God regardless of our circumstances.

Technically it is all his active will, The will of choice he allows us. Not to be confused as his will for what he wants us to be which is holy, we can operate out side of his will of holyness. And he can allow us to make a certain amount of wrong choices before he judges us.

@@MrInfoPhilly I see your point. Please consider that many who pursue Christ with their heart, mind, and soul often suffer at the hands of the wicked. God doesn’t cause suffering, yet He allows it to happen. Think about Job’s period of suffering. Clearly God allowed it. I wouldn’t begin to debate Job’s sin nature, as all have fallen short of the glory of God. Even so, it is apparent that his ( Job’s ) suffering originated from Satan. God has the ability to prevent Satan from sifting Job, yet does not. In fact, He gives Satan permission with limits. In the last few chapters, Job confesses that his questioning of God was rooted in his lack of understanding who he was and who God is. God exercises grace in a way that confirms His character and His worthiness of worship. The relationship is restored and God prospers him beyond all he lost. God works all things for good to those who worship Him, sometimes in this life, but certainly in eternity. The entire book of Job speaks to God’s sovereignty and His love for those who belong to Him, even when we suffer at the hands of others through no fault of our own. We are living in a fallen world as a result of rebellion against God, but Jesus is the Redeemer who paid our sin debt for us that we can be reconciled to God.
