Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

Күн бұрын

Cliffe Knechtle has a good dialogue with students at Texas State University. Recorded in October 2013.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

@@levimalone4433 to anybody who believes in God, if you also play rpg games, you realize we are kind of in one big rpg simulation. We are the main character of our quest. God created us just like if we were an actual video game character, it would be humans designing the game. So to the game, humans are God. But to us, we are in the game and God is our creator. We want to get the ending where we go to heaven. In our rpg there is multiple endings you can achieve. But the best ending to this game is the one where we discover Jesus is God and can save us. @Guy Meister well , good luck with that on your death bed and on the judgement. And no , this is not me fear mongering , it’s just stating the fact that more than 150,000 people die everyday and find out if what they thought about God is true or false . If that’s the reason you have to say that God doesn’t exist , good luck 👍🏾 and if He doesn’t , then I’m the fool I’m not however as dismissive or arrogant as to think that because God doesn’t prove His existence in an instant and when or how I want Him to that He therefore doesn’t exist . I mean come on, we don’t even put such ridiculous and ignorant expectations on the existence of anything , let alone an intelligent being. Also who is to say He hasn’t implanted the knowledge? Of course He has , you just don’t like how He did it . Because how He did it requires your free will to actively pursue it and acknowledge it , but the free will also means you can freely suppress the truth all your life in favor of your own conclusions .This doesn’t mean you will be right or escape the consequences but you certainly can go your whole life claiming God doesn’t exist or “there isn’t enough evidence “ or whatever other intellectual excuses you want to give. No amount of intellectual gymnastics can cause anything in this world to exist or not exist and neither can it make you escape the consequences of any action or reality in this universe.

No, it starts much younger. Well before philosophy class. I don't know if you guys were raised christian. But I wasn't. And I remember when I had an open mind, and my teachers taught me about evolution. I was just HONESTLY and zCURIOUSLY asking questions about the theory the first time I heard it. And my teacher was getting visibly upset and angry with me that I had ANY questions about evolution. He thought I was being arrogant by trying to poke holes in it, but I was doing so with genuine curiosity. I think this was around grade 7 for me. And because I was a nice kid, I just thought I was upsetting my teacher and I liked my teacher. So just for the sake of not upsetting my teacher, I stopped trying to learn and just accepted evolution.

The very notions that "things just happen" and that "things aren't created with intelligent design" themselves "just happened," and those notions were clearly not created with any intelligent design behind them. Therefore those notions are to be rejected, and instead, the facts that things happen for a purpose and that there is intelligent design behind them are to be accepted.

~1000 b.c. Egypt is a well documented part of history. Enslaving an entire people would have been a pretty big feat so it is likely to have been recorded in a tomb as one of there achievements. Like wise the events Exodus would be devastating and would have left a mark in there culture, the death of every first born son over night is not something that is just a side note in history.
@annoyingdude76
@annoyingdude76 11 жыл бұрын
that's just false.This is my field so please support your claims.First it's a argument from silence fallacy,second,it's not a well documented period.We only can reconstruct from tombs and the only source we got is Manethon who has a lot of problems by himself.Especially if the event so devestating then the Egyptians would definetly NOT mention it.If we were to take your position,then we could also say the Slavic people didn't arive on the Balkans,or Schythians in Russia

I didn't mean documented by contemporary scholars, but archeology. The enslavement would be of pride so probably would have been documented. And we should probably expect to find som Jewish artifacts

***** again,it's an argument from silence fallacy.But appart from that,why would the enslavement need to be documented?They had many slaves so the claim that they should have mentioned Jews, esspetially in that time period where we hardly know anything,is just unsupported.And if you mean from archaeology,then what evidence would you need?What would you need to find?What Jewish atrifacts?Would you say the same for the Slavic and Schythian example?We don't even know how many pharaos there were because new scholarship sugests that there weren't even that many dynsties.We don't know much about Egypt,esspetially from that period

The thinking of the second student is so intelectually dishonest, irrational and inconsistent that it's scary. One cannot claim to be a moral relativist in one breath and then accuse God or anyone else of moral evil in the next breath. What the second student does is he claims to be a moral relativist one minute, and then when it's no longer convenient to hold that position, then he abandons his moral relativistic worldview to then steal from the Christian worldview in order to criticise God of evil. This is not only inconsistent, but complete intelectual dishonesty. Would it not be more reasonable to ditch moral relativism as indefensible and at least admit that moral absolutes do exist? Would it not be more reasonable to believe "in the beginning, God" rather than "in the beginning, there was nothing, and nothing exploded, and now we have matter and energy, and eventually from goo to you via the zoo"? It is far more reasonable to believe that God is the creator than for me or anyone else to believe that it (just happened by luck without anything outside the universe to create it."
