Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

Күн бұрын

Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Cliffe is very humbly, and is really doing the work we are all called to do as follower of Jesus Christ. God bless him and thank you Heavenly Father for using him to show your amazing character. I love to watch him and I have learnt so much, from watching him. Whether we admit it or not we all want there to be a supernatural being that is ultimately good and wants to save mankind from ourselves.

I am happy to see something raised about Free Will and love, for if we did not have Free Will, we really could not demonstrate love. I say that because Love would then no longer be a choice. If we are "hard-wired" to perform or act a certain way, it really would no longer be a conscious decision. If you kept a lover locked in a room, who only loved you because you fed him/her, then the choice is really more about living. If God allows us to live outside of four walls, only if we worship and love Him, we could certainly go through the motions too. God knows the heart, and the only way to really love is through making a conscious decision to do so; it is only by Free Will.

+Raymond Griffin Fallen man is still free to choose what he desires, but because his desires are only wicked he lacks the moral ability to come to Christ. As long as he remains in the flesh, unregenerate, he will never choose Christ. He cannot choose Christ precisely because he cannot act against his own will. He has no desire for Christ. He cannot choose what he does not desire. His fall is great. It is so great that only the effectual grace of God working in his heart can bring him to faith. If a man is truly born again it should be easy to observe this. Evidence or information does not make one born again.

I have a problem with the second guy's comments. First, he said that he is a Christian. Second, he said that he doesn't like being associated with Christianity. Third, he believes that Christians are hypocrites. Fourth, he want's to know what God's will for his life is. He is basically saying that he is a Christian but doesn't feel he needs to be a part of the body of Christ because Christians are hypocrites and spending time with them will stigmatise him as being a partaker in Christianity. So, here's a biblical response to his claims, which I believe are errors, that I see given to us in God's word. He said he hates going to church on Sundays, no Christian can separate himself from the body of Christ, by choice, and be a true believer. To choose to separate himself from the body of Christ is to hate the brethren and not love them (1 John 2:3-11, 1 Corinthians 12:12-26). To not want to be associated with Christianity is contradictory with the very being of a Christian and what Christ has called us to, this is sin as we should be honoured to be called a Christian (Mark 8:38). He refutes his own statement by saying that Christians in churches are hypocrites. He clearly falls flat in his own hypocrisy by not obeying Christ's commandments of loving the brethren and being kind and caring to one another (Ephesians 4:32, 5:21, Hebrews 10:25). Finally, he wants to know God's will, but how can someone who disobeys God's word in regards to fellowship with the brethren and being associated with biblical Christianity BE in God's will?! They cannot be in God's will if this is the case (Luke 6:46, 1 John 3:10) and I would have thought that Cliffe would have called him out on these things or at least probed a bit at his heart. This guy's soul doesn't sound like it's in a good place before The Lord Jesus. We should pray for him. God bless :-)

8:52 -- Skinny boy says: "I think it's something that we need to arrive at ourselves; it's not something that you should just accept from others." I say: "Then keep your mouth shut and let everyone arrive at it ourselves." Also, if nobody asserted and enforced morality through legislation, then murder, rape, and theft would all be legal, and life would be a horrible mess for everyone all over the world. 10:20 -- Skinny boy says: "There is no objective morality that we can absolutely establish." I say: "That is obviously just your subjective opinion, and is therefore not objectively true." In short, his theories are silly, thoughtless, and ignorant.

"Before Abraham was...I AM" that statement was multi layered. It wasn't in my opinion to display he was around before it all...if that's the case...he would have said before Adam. Instead.. we know God asked Abraham to sacrifice his one and only son...but before Abraham was...God stopped him and provided a sacrifice...it was foreshadowing and a parallel of God sacrificing his one and only son...plus...he rightfully used "I AM"...because he is God and he knew they would pick up on that phrase as the name of God thru Moses' inquiry...Jesus was eluding to both...he was God and the sacrificial lamb.

I trust you do understand that all who comment with an opposing viewpoint to Cliffe are not necessarily god/Xtianity/religion haters. Many are in an honest dialogue in a search for truth. For example, Cliffe goes on about Abe Lincoln's honesty at the end, yet he has posted videos with parts edited out wherein he is made to look pretty bad. In fact, he's edited out arguments where his opponent has revealed falsehoods promoted by Knechtle. Google "Cliffe Knechtle 10/42 apologetic" and look at the link to the Celsius blog that shows up. Similar dishonesty can be found in Strobel's books, McDowell's and other apologists. I don't hate God, but I do not like the lying these guys get away with to promote their convictions.

Most of the world - even the believing world - are unaware of the fact THE WAR ON THE EARTH, is really a war for the MINDS OF PEOPLE! Abraham's mind belonged to Yahuwah Elohim/MICHAEL, the First Prince of Heaven. Having lived a perfectly sinless life, and died AS ALL OF HUMANITY WHO WOULD CHOOSE THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL, Yahushua returned to Third Heaven, and poured out the Holy Spirit, WHICH IS the mind of Messiah (See 1Corinthians 2: 14 - 16, KJV . . .ready the whole Chapter)! The War is whether or not you will entrust your Body Temple completely unto the Mind of Messiah, or else always hold onto a part of the Body Temple, and in doing this, not allow the Mind of Messiah to have you in totality, so that your life is HIS LIFE, and thus the wish of Ephesians 4: 11 - 16. This can only literally happen, if we all allow the mind of Messiah to control our Body Temples, which the 144,000 will bring forth in these last days! HalleluYah, awmayne!

We need more unction, not intellectualism. I'm not against intellect but this is spiritual warfare against an unseen enemy. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, get unction, get the full armor of God. With real anointing the Holy Spirit will cut straight to the heart and mind by the Word of God which is the Sword of the Spirit. We need the Holy Spirit to convict people of their sin. Where is the disputer of this world has not God made mans thoughts foolishness?

At about 20 minutes Cliffe talks about God testing Abraham by asking him to Kill his son. It's a great biblical story which to me is a way of trying to persuade Christians to put all their faith in God, do as he says, even if it seems absolutely immoral, God has a reason for everything, In Abraham's case, he was testing Abraham's faith. The problem here is, we all know what is right, I would seriously doubt any voices in my head which told me to kill my son, if you have those voices, you need to seek medical advice. I understand the point behind the story, but for me, it doesn't put God in a good light.

***** I doubt very much this was an actual historical event 1God. It has all the hallmarks of being a made up story which is meant to tell the readers to put all their faith in God, to do as he says, no matter what. Outside of religious books, is there much evidence of Abraham as an actual living breathing person. According to Genesis, he lived for 175 years, that is stretching credibility a little i think.

***** He has a strange way of showing his love for me if my destiny is hell. Now who in their right mind would choose to go to Hell?, certainly not me. If you tell me I have a free choice of either heaven or hell, obviously I'm going to choose the good place. But what if i don't believe there is a good place after death, can't I just be allowed to die peacefully and sleep forever?, why must I accept Jesus or face eternal hell, there should be a third option, eternal sleep. For the "crime" of non belief, I am sentenced to eternal punishment. Whereas, if I've lived a life of sin, raped, tortured, murdered etc, if, on my deathbed, i suddenly "see the light", and *genuinely* accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior, I get to go to eternal heaven. Psychopaths can go to heaven, and people who are not convinced of all the magical stories in the bible, go to hell. Hmmmmm. Thanks, but no thanks on that idea.
@bonnie43uk
@bonnie43uk 9 жыл бұрын
***** Kaz. You may not believe me, but i would honestly prefer eternal sleep to heaven and praising a God who i see as a moral monster. I am also not saying I live my life without making errors and occasionally doing bad things, yes, you are right, none of us have totally blameless lives. it's part of being human. Let me ask you this Kaz, if you were commanded by God to do something you considered bad, would you do it?, and him commanding such an instruction, would that then make it morally right? Now there's a good question for you :-)
