He had a clear in already with sumerian and was a "fit" for this band. I love his studio stuff, but his effort live is questionable for sure, thats having watched 3-4 performances. 3 from this show and one from warsaw. I hope he gets it going.

You guys are all complaining that "Denis can't reach high notes" and "Danny sounds way better with this song!" No shit. All of these songs are tailored to suit Danny's voice and range. Denis does kick ass on the older songs though. Denis has the range now that Danny had when he was younger, so he's going to suit songs from that era. You guys need to cut him some slack. You can't expect him to be bomb at every song that was written for a completely different range.

I hate how people keep comparing Denis to Danny and vice versa and saying one is better then the other. They are two DIFFERENT people. They're obviously going to sing the songs different and have different styles of singing. You can't compare two completely different people because that's just unfair. Yes, Danny's voice may have suited FDTD clean vocals a lot better but that's just because it was more of a rock n' roll style. I personally think Denis sings the song just as equally great at Danny did, just in a different way.

The reason Denis can't sing Run Free or any songs from FDTD is because Danny wrote that album mainly about him gaining the courage to move on and make a change, long behold he was talking about Asking Alexandria. Listen to every song on the album, and you'll soon realize that he wrote that album based on leaving AA. "I don't know who I am anymore, this was supposed to be the dream."

Well I think it's the fact that not everyone can do these screaming vocals, Danny is more fit in Classic Rock anyways. "Moving On" in FDTD sounded like def leppard that song was perfect, screaming metalcore tracks are just a fad anyways imo, everyone grows out of it sooner or later

THEM ALL wrote a few songs, which James or Ben said in an interview, that even Moving On ( that people say Danny wrote as an indication of leaving) was born in the studio, as they recorded other tunes. Don't see why people hate on denis, he may not sound that good to people but I think he sounds sick, its hard to sing songs that were written to suit others voices, AA fans have been brought up listening to dannys voice and for denis it's hard to nail a song thats not his, Denis has given the band life. The new album will be better because its actually denis's voice so he wont have to imitate dannys voice as much, i mean we all wanna hear the classics but its hard and considering denis couldn't speak a word of english before he joined, i think hes great at what hes doing! :3

caleb Reedy FDTD is a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal album, personally I think this song suits Danny more, but Denis is overall a better vocalist. I think once they have the new album out Denis will really shine.

FDTD was mostly focused and written around how Danny wanted it. Denis 100% can't sing like Danny did in that time, but God damn does he kick ass on songs from Reckless and Relentless and SUAS. he has the vocal range Danny did a long time ago. AA is much better with Denis

There's really no point in making comments like "Danny/Denis did this better". There's only one released song by the band that was made with Denis; there's no way he'd be able to achieve the same quality or emotion that Danny had with any of the other songs because he didn't write them. On top of that, Danny easily outperforms Denis on the songs from FDTD because it involves a style of singing at which he is superior. That said, there's no denying that Denis still has excellent range, and I believe he's still doing the best he can; even with him as the new vocalist, they're still enjoyable to listen to. EDIT: in reference to this performance in particular, he's doing well with the sung portions, but I have to say I prefer Danny's screams (yes, even live).

Alright, I never post anything like this because I hate Internet arguments. Yes sure Danny probably had more low ball concerts that weren't the greatest but that's only because of himself fucking up his vocal cords. He lost his passion because he couldn't do it anymore.. would you still pursue your dreams and your goals if you weren't able to be as good as you could? No probably not.. he moved to something he could do without hurting himself. Danny has countless fucking amazing performances and when he tried no one in the world could out perform him. Danny had his own style and for me nothing can match it. Denis is a great vocalist alot better for what everyone wants from AA but he will not be no Danny. When I saw them live.. one of his last concerts before he left when he sang this song the pure passion you could hear in it gave me goose bumps. Hate me all you want but Denis will be no Danny but Denis is far more better for AA then Danny will be now a days.
