In this video, I ask small business owners in Southern California about what business they own, how they got started, how much money their business is bringing in, and a bunch of other questions about entrepreneurship and personal finance!
Most of the time, we support small businesses without even knowing who is behind the scenes, which is why I wanted to make this video to shed light on a really cool community! Be sure to watch through every single business owner because there were so many gems that can benefit anyone looking to start their own business in the future!

I love how diverse these businesses are, from eco-friendly retail stores to a men's hair salon. The common thread among them is hard work and perseverance. And that story about spray-painting curbs to make money at 13 is just amazing!

I doubt people who did graduate college would want to admit that it wasn't worth it. I think it's a psychological thing where people don't want to look back and think something wasted your time. If it's worth it or not, I think, depends on your major too though. Time-management, multitasking, completing deadlines, all these skills are learnable yourself
@BlazeCardz
@BlazeCardz Жыл бұрын
learn it yourself for free or spend 100k+ for the fast track 😉, but i also see how college can be very useful in instilling these values but also building relationships early on. Also "worth" could have different criteria for different people.
@goodvibe53
@goodvibe53 Жыл бұрын
@@BlazeCardz Yes true! It does have a different criteria for everybody. For some, it might be about purely making money or being a business owner without the other factors. Also networking can be done without going to college, especially nowadays, via social media, attending events, joining a group/organization, etc.
@joshspiker
@joshspiker Жыл бұрын
@@goodvibe53 That all depends on what you're going to school for. If you're trying to become a surgeon or an electrical engineer, then you absolutely need a college education. You're not going to be able to get into either of those professions by being self-taught and watching a few free videos online. It doesn't work that way. But if you're going for a degree in art history or, as in the case of one of the guests interviewed, international business, then college isn't really necessary (unless you're applying for a job that requires the degree).

I graduated and for most people it’s a complete waste of time these days … 20 years ago it was worth it … these days not at all unless your hopeful profession requires it

Depends… I got a graduate degree and my business is in the same field of my degree. I couldn’t have started my business without my degree. But you’re right not every business needs a degree.

College is not a scam if you are going in with an idea of what you want to do and you continue on to get a masters … notice the last guy said Stanford mba … my college experience I noticed half my courses were general Ed that weren’t much more than I learned in high school and were completely pointless … I recommend not going to college unless what you want to do requires it
