Online groceries are always marked up to offset the cost of the rewards you get. Online grocery benefit isn't much better than using credit card portals for vacation bookings since they're marked up 10% higher than directly with the hotel or airline program itself (which also offers loyalty bonuses and status).

I believe is time to have 3X on ALL groceries for CSP and a full 2X for Freedom Unlimited. The landscape has changed a lot in the past couple of years. Hotel and Airline points have depreciated a lot so UR no longer goes as far it once did for transfers 🛡
@lewis200020002 жыл бұрын
i concur, a full 3X on both groceries and restaurants to compete with the Amex gold, and the 2X on the unlimited up to 50K to match the BBP, it's not like we're asking for too much for the AF, chase would just be matching Amex.

I 100% agree with what you said at the end. Chase points really are for everyone where other points generally require you to use them for aspirational trips which may not be realistic for some. They're the most flexible points in the whole game in my opinion, and that's why they're still my #1 choice with Amex in second. Great video Sebby!
@superseiyan2 жыл бұрын
I looked at Amex and it seemed it’s harder to accumulate points and also was heavily geared to value via “status” or luxury travel. Chase seems more versatile in different ways to benefit from UR.

@kunalmishra94632 жыл бұрын
@@dingmingzou9866 It’s interesting that the Venture X and BILT came up organically - I just wrote out this long-ass comment independently lol: “I think it’s super interesting. I used to be a big Chase fan because I think when you’re running a 1 card setup, a CSR is the single easiest card across the spectrum to use and recommend - it earns well on normal spend, has great travel perks (priority pass/travel credit/lyft multiplier) and protections (VISA Infinite), can toggle between a hyper-cash-back card or full on travel monster (both of which are desirable to different types of people), and feels great to use as a heavy metal card on a day to day basis. The moment you decide you want to get a little more complicated and try using 2+ cards, I feel like the Chase ecosystem loses its luster to some degree. About to downgrade my CSR to a Freedom Flex and pretty much solely rely on two of the cards I opened this year to do everything my CSR did… but better: a Venture X (pros: cheaper, 2x on base spend, same protections and travel perks minus Lyft multipliers) and the BILT Rewards card (same dining multipliers, same and better transfer partners, and 4500 points/month from rent for me = the equivalent of $1500 of dining spend “automatically” each month). When you get into that 2 card setup (and in my case, having the no AF downgraded freedom flex on the side there for the quarterly 5% categories in…. groceries? and 5x constant for lyft as well?), I think it just about edges out the Chase trifecta (or a single CSR hoofing it alone) in every way, despite liking how versatile and elite the CSR is as a 1 card setup. For non-renters, an Amex Gold/C1 SavorOne and Venture X combo feels like it probably also comes out on top too and I’m just not sure what the value-add-over-replacement of the trifecta is if you’re going to spend money on more than 1 card (the CSR) 🤷🏽♂“

First, I enjoy how you break down the videos. I've been on the chase trifecta for a very long time. My cards are Chase freedom. Chase flex and I moved over to the JP Morgan Reserve instead of the Chase Sapphire Reserve, pretty much the exact same card, just more flash. I do travel quite a bit so I have the Amex Marriott brilliant. I know this one has went up in price to $650 annually but I only use it when I go to Marriott hotels which is exclusively when I travel for business. Also, the Amex offers typically well pay for the card every year. I don't know if you've done a video on offers, but Chase offers on all their cards are pretty much trash. I find Amex offers far superior and a much better value.

How does airline status work with booking flight with miles? If I have delta status and I book a skyteam flight with miles does my status follow me?

Chase trifecta with CSR any day. In my opinion it's the strongest travel credit card on the market with the best priority pass and insurance benefits.

Why is the aspirational trip always Maldives/Bora Bora and never Paris or Singapore?

Rocking the trifecta but just downgraded my csp in preparation for getting the csr with that 80k bonus! Realised at the last minute though that, while I applied and received the csp over four years ago, I’m still within the four years of when I actually received the signup bonus for it meaning that I’m still ineligible for the csr bonus if I’m understanding the terms correctly? 🛡️

🛡️ hey can you do a video on reapplying for signup bonuses and which ones do have that availability and which ones don’t and the process to it all?

I should be using my Freedom Unlimited for Sebby's OF 🤔 this is good to know!
