Haha yes please, this switching on and off 3-6 times and I get no repair mode, Apparently booting from network is best next option but when I check my boot options (I am connected to the internet) don't get a boot from network option

Recently my pc started a windows update that was stuck on 0% forever. It finally skipped to “restarting” with the buffer wheel. It stayed like that indefinitely. I unplugged the Ethernet and did a hard reset. Now when I boot up the pc I am stuck on a black screen. I’m unable to access safemode to fix Anything. Just stuck on black screen

Hello Sir, thx for the videos and help! I just upgraded to Windows 10 from 7 and had some issues with updating and blue screen crashing from KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED ,figured that out. Now for some reason, the BIOS menu loads upon restarting but will not load and let me in. Can't spam f2 or del it just laughs back at me,lol. I dropped it off at the PC store locally and I stopped by today after they called me to say my pc was ready, when I get there he goes to show me how it is working fine now and it freezes on that bios logo for him too, hehe. Arghhh. I'll check again tomorrow to see if they figured it out. Thing is, I can't afford 55 dollars an hour to have them hand me a crazy bill that makes me wish I'd just bought a new computer! So I'm asking here, you seem pretty cool so I figured I'd try, Thx for Anybody's reply/help!!! Thank YOU

Turns out it was an issue with the Windows 10 installation. Had to re-install it. For some reason my pc won't hibernate any longer. But...if thats all thats wrong at the end of the day I'm fine. Having my custom micro pc that I built running great and with a new OS feels great. I got 13 years out of it before this upgrade, hope to get a bunch more out of it! Asus micro atx motherboard, I5 2500 cpu, 16 gigs of ram, 4 tb storage, Lian-Li Micro Case. Been a pretty epic build for a lonnng time now 🤘😉 and it still looks soooo 😎

Whenever I try one of the methods to access Safe Mode the options menu to choose one of the startup options after restarting never appears and I'm not sure as to why.

Can't access through BIOS. You have to just turn your PC on and power it off immediately anywhere from 5-6 times. Eventually you'll get your troubleshooting menus where you can force it to boot into safe mode 👍

My Windows 10 Pro does not show “Startup Settings” under Advanced options. It has System Restore, System Image Recovery, Startup repair, Command Prompt and UEFI Firmware settings.

@@AskYourComputerGuy Found that by restarting my machine while holding the SHIFT+Power Key when it restarted it went into the Troubleshooting mode and the Startup Settings magically appeared. Was able to get into Safe Mode->Command Prompt and run “sfc /scannow” to fix corrupt system files and now I am back into my machine. (It was freezing at the Welcome screen) Will follow your lead and create the 2 USB drives. Thanks for your prompt reply!

You shouldn't need to. The bios only cares about "is there a drive to boot to" and then sends the next command to the Windows bootloader

I would try booting into safe mode with networking then. If you can get that far, let Windows update do it's thing, hopefully install the necessary drivers and "fix" the Windows boot process

Hi, i still have the issue. when i start my pc it shows the motherboards brand and below it the Preparing automatic repair. The issue is that the little dots do not make a full circle before it shuts down by itself. I have tried placing another ssd from an old laptop but it still did the same thing. Have you ever encountered this?

Could be anything, but sounds like hardware if you swapped the drive. That eliminates Windows. I'd start with removing memory sticks, as we as unplugging anything that isn't critical to use (extra drives, DVD drive, etc). Minimize the boot to motherboard, CPU, one stick of RAM. Even pull your GPU if you have one, that can cause issues as well

So i tried doing all that but it still would not work. i even tried cold resetting the bios by both removing the cmos and connecting the 2 pins, but now i see another issue. it still has the same issue but on the second load it get's stuck on a blue screen. Also i used my ssd from a new laptop and it still didn't want to work so i assumed it must be the motherboard, but i am not so sure about it

In that case, you might need to reinstall Windows. Could be corrupted so bad that safe mode won't even load

Start your machine and shut down as soon as the Windows load circle appears. Rinse and repeat until the troubleshooting menu appears

I have the same problem -- no 'start settings' -- but cannot get the system to start a self repair by powering off/on 3 times -- or more. Here is the problem I have: The scenario: Ran CCleaner a few days ago and had it update 6 drivers. After that -- when requested to restart -- I did --- and now I can no longer boot. CCleaner does not respond to support requests. My machine: i5/3600 RX 1030 with 32 GB Ram--- simple office/email machine. Drive A is a 2 TB HD ---- Drive B is a 2 TB SSD. I have only been using the SSD drive I have a win 10 flash drive -- used it to boot to the "repair" screen -- went to CMD -- and tried the editbcd string to try to get into safemode. It failed stating that 'the boot configuration store could not be opened'. Tried this on both drives. also tried to do a restore image -- with rstrui.exe --- and that also failed. Not sure what to do next ---- any suggestions ? Thanks in advance for any help !

Not always available, depending on how you get to the menu. Just skip that choice and proceed to the next option
