It's a natural workflow to draw the naked body first and then add clothes on top of it. Many artists draw in this way to make sure the anatomy is correct. But before adding the clothes you're actually drawing a naked body. It seems even if you're only drawing the blank body shape without any detailed features, youtube still hates it. I've heard some artists mentioning it in streams.

I wish this point was more understood. I am a biracial Asian woman, and the only reason I read as an 'adult' is that I have larger breasts than most Asian women have thanks to that non-Asian half. If it wasn't for that, I would still read, just from looks, as a teenager. And while this isn't exactly something that happens ALL the time... it IS a very known, common problem a lot of Asians face. Asian folks have a really bad history with infantilization for a lot of reasons - especially for us women. So for us, who tend towards looking young (by WESTERN standards) and who have that reflected in the media that we produce, having that youthful appearance that is so common be immediately labeled as 'minor coded' *even for explicit adults* is pretty fucking offensive. It isn't intentional, but a hyperfocus on western standards of bodily maturity feeds into that same infantilization we have been desperately trying to fight for literal lifetimes. And I get it - there is a lot of weirdo shit out there that is justified by "Oh she's really 3000 years old", but I do not want to abide by an overcorrection in the other direction that feeds into a kind of systemic prejudice we have been dealing with for GENERATIONS. I - and all the other Asian folks out there - should not be made to feel as if we are not "adult enough" just because of *racial traits.*

Naoki sensei's videos are always entertaining and informative, i watch him every now and then and it always helps me with various things that i overlooked when it comes to illustrations and drawings. The dude's also really wholesome, so i was kinda surprised and confused when i found out his channel just suddenly disappears out of nowhere. Just hoping he recovers from this, and honestly, if you like drawing as a hobby or perhaps an aspiring artist yourself, give some of his videos a watch, it's really helpful.

13:10 it's not about the skin tione per se. It's about the impression of a picture. If you draw skin tone first, it can lead to the impression that you make a nude picture. And if someone only have a lookt into at a specific screenshot than this impression can occur. NVM it clicked 3 sec afterwards.

Here's my opinion on the whole loli thing: Like he said anime is often designed too make characters cute (infact that's what loli originally meant was a cute character), but problem is cuteness often equates too age (you see it in makeup ads "beautiful, smoother, and younger looking skin"). In addition height and breast size are always tied too levels of maturity which is problematic in animated series which can often dramatize differences. For example: Rebecca from cyberpunk is called a loli. At no point does she act young but because she's short, small chested, and stands next too gorilla sized men she's persumed as a child.

Here's my opinion on the whole loli thing: Just to take an issue with it, makes you outright exempt from the human race, cause its a faceoff moment where you prove that you cannot rationally process thoughts. I dare you to take a look at gaming, movies, books, literature and media, then come back to me and tell me that all the things we do in fantasy and fiction is okay from gta to the human centipede, but THIS ONE THING, this is somehow a problem. Interesting takes from Asmon here and it was nice seeing him react to Joey. I do agree that such a wide reaching ban without allowing any kind of rebuttal is complete bs. Also, Asmon touched on something really important at the end that I fully agree with which is that one can't always apply the same rules for every similar situation. Life is not black or white, it's mostly gray all the time, so one always has to look at the context and the facts of a situation before applying some judgement or whatever. It baffles me how such an obvious thought pattern isn't more common place.

I wouldn't just assume it was art uploaded. It sounds malicious and it was probably the real deal. I'm not sure how you can have a safe way to allow fans to send in art to be edited. Maybe the artists could upload to a service themselves and Naoki could download them from there. Definitely never open a drive for public use.

The goal of doing this is to communicate "You better be careful, if you deviate from the line, this may happen to you". They are flexing the fact that they can do this, you have no control over it, and you can't negotiate it. It makes them look shitty, but as a monopoly, they don't need to be good. Completely agree with Asmon, Google could have approached the artist to figure out what was going on, and to see if terminating his account was the right move. Their application of their rules was too punitive and unfair. I do have to point out that Joey is incredibly biased for the youtuber. It is indeed sad and enraging what happened to Naoki sensei, but it also has to do with his own error. Joey is among some of the youtubers that really don't really see legal liabilities with nuance. Its just mumbo jumbo that youtube forces on him. Everything is KZbin's actions and everything wrong that happens is due to KZbin. If his theory is correct, drive ban led to account ban to youtube ban, then sadly it is not hard to see that his youtube channel was a mere colateral. As someone who has used the internet for many years, having a drive open to uploads and share is such a hugely liability that is baffling how someone so "careful" didn't see it coming. Guilt from omissions is does not mean innocence. I could do things with the upmost innocent and good intentions, but if my actions cause some kind of harm, I am liable as well. Think of it this way. Imagine Walmart decided to create a christmas campaign where they would have a TV monitor in the store. Walmart would then let kids could go in, drop the photos of their drawings of santa through an USB, and it would get displayed in the monitor. This is all self service, meaning no walmart employee would actually curate the photos to make sure they are appropriate. Then some trolls come to the Walmart, drop some 18+ images to get displayed on the monitors. Sure, maybe Walmart had good intentions and wanted to encourage kids to make drawings and share the christmas spirit. However, anyone can see that Walmart is 100% responsible for the indecency displayed and should get fined. The same way, Naoki sensei left a drive open, where people could use it as ways to share questionable stuff, without his full moderation.

This sucks, I watched many of Naoki-sensei's works where he taught me so many things about design concept while drawing Genshin's characters just through a few fan given hints. He is a respectful and inspiring artist who does not shy away openly teaching his craft. Hope that YT would give his account back

I don't think there's anything inheritantly wrong with Loli's. It's a reference to a body type of a fictional drawn character. Using Lolis in a sexual or pornographic manner is a little weird but it's drawings of adults with small bodies and flat chests. Not my thing but i don't think it's wrong either.

The real problem is that there are some people that lack imagination and see children in everything anime. There's just something wrong with them and they can't see it any other way. It's like the Christians in the 90s that saw malign influence in all media, or the Feminists that saw "rape culture" everywhere. Some people have just been trained up by their ideology to be hypersensitive to anything that they might be able to make several mental leaps between that MIGHT POSSIBLY be vaguely connected to something they THINK is maybe kinda bad, and trace that back to THE WORST THING EVER! And some just have a difference of opinion, for whatever reason. They get drowned out by the crusaders on both sides, but even if it was just them, would it matter? As long as it's not photorealistic or thereabouts, what does it matter? What about the furry and beast art? Does the same standard apply?

Let me tell you, it's 100% human error on Google part. As an artist, few years back, I backed up my character bases when my computer was having trouble. Yes, character bases. No clothes nor any features, just humanoid shapes. I'm not a NSFW artist. It was a private google drive account and none of the files were shared. They blocked my whole google account, not just drive, including gmail because I am storing "CP" which I knew is not the case because I am against CP myself. I had lot of important files in my Google drive. All my life photos, photos of my twin who passed away, my diary etc. It was my second brain. But they banned whole account because I uploaded character bases. I only got it back because I had a tech lead friend working for Google HQ who pulled in favors to actually investigate (I told them if they really find cp they can have me arrested) and they reactivated my account and apologized they mistook my character bases for cp which they now admit was a human error on their part. So, it's possible same thing happened to him. I had to go higher up in chain to get it resolved.

as a fellow illustrator, i can say, that actually drawing on youtube is a nightmare. When you do concepts for a character, youve never drawn before, you always draw them naked first, so you dont fck up the anatomy. Not its not becouse we want to draw porn. It for not drawing model with the broken spine, or absolutely insane body parts. And if you do that, its automatically redflags all the video. I do not do videos on youtube, but i have plenty of friends, who do, and they often burn they seat out, when telling me about all of this.

If the rule says that the google drive cannot contain cp, it doesn't matter how it got there, they can technically ban the holder of it. The fairness goes out the window, because company is much more valuable then one's person channel, and the risk of allowing the files to stay there, can damage the company much more, then just deleting the holder of it. Asmon is a creator, so it's natural to go overboard with this for him, as he can be affected by it to. The creator fucked up, he put himself into this, and he got deleted, nothing to see here. To say, that they will check every file which could contain cp where it was originally sourced from, by checking the IP is definetly too much work, and it makes complete sense, can't relay on the goodwill of checking it from a place of good heart, if they don't specifically say, that it matters where it came from in the rules.

If his hypothesis is correct I think him having the second account makes sense. The KZbin channel was deleted because his email associated with it was banned and deleted. So it probably automatically deleted the KZbin channel without considering it a ban.

This situation made me think of another topic. The other day a U.S teacher (of course U.S) was fired because he did a lesson about the Donatello's David to 6th graders. Some parents complained about that. In Italy we have paintings and statues of naked adults and CHILDREN in literally every church. Yes, most of the angels are depicted as 1 year old or smaller babies and they are naked. We have around 100k churches, what will happens if some youtuber did content about those pieces of art? Would youtube allow it?

I have empathy for the creator, but he made the decision to allow anybody to upload anything to his drive account, and that makes him responsible for any of the content that was uploaded to it, regardless of who did the uploading. Google is protecting their own interests by not allowing people to upload inappropriate content to be hosted on their servers. I would guess that whatever was uploaded was bad enough that it warranted immediate action. It's a really suck situation, and it's really awful that he had to go through this, but he opened himself up to that possibility by not restricting access to the drive that was associated with his official youtube account. Like, all he had to do was put it on a burner email not associated with his main account to prevent anything bad from happening to his youtube channel.

Yt should temporarily just freeze or put the account to private, meaning the owner can see it but users even members can't view until the creator, yt, police or lawyers go over it. Wow this is just.... This exact same thing happened to me last year (2022) in July, I brought it up on your channel where it should have been addressed but instead was entirely ignored. Even now it's got no replies or likes or anything anywhere else where I brought it up. Now, I'm constantly having issues with anything relevant to GOOGLE, especially financially. Brand new credit cards under my name are rejected on Google pay ever since July 2022. I cannot ever contact a human working for Google, never. Now my Gmail is about to be deleted by Google, which I'm guessing is going to be an exact year after it was "terminated" by Google for that same accusation this guy is now dealing with. If he happens to read this comment, take it from me bro it's only going to get worse. They're always gonna tell u it's manually reviewed. You're NOT speaking to Google human employees. I'm assuming the skin tone/algorithm issues has to do with the fill/paint bucket tool. The fill tool might bleed skin tone color to unintended parts of the clothing, which can sometimes give the character a more "nude" appearance. Until the line art is tightened and/or the clothing parts are recolored.

13:00 an artist might draw a bare-skin version of their character before putting clothes on them, to get the anatomy right. You might fill in the entire sketch with a base skin colour which could be interpreted as a nude drawing.

Everything is scanned. Everything. Every image. Every video. Scanned by an AI trained to find nudity. Scanned and compared tl police supplied cp archives so that known and tagged cp files by law enforcement will get flagged and a cyper tip sent to police of every bit of evidence they have. So if someone posts a known cp video that police have catalogued, their IP WILL be reported. But even just a hit for nudity in general, as in not a match for tagged cp, will make the AI flag it for manual review. Make no mistake, nothing is private if uploaded to a Google service. A PRIVATE video containing any cp will still get them banned and their info sent to police, that's the degree this is to. And when it comes to cp, Google takes no chances. No mercy, compromise, warning, second chance, no strike... They nuke it instantly and immediately, if there's even a vague possibility of even a hint of sexualizing of children. So yes, watch what you use Google for. Private videos, private drive account? Doesn't matter, privated stuff gets the scan too.

8 year old, definitely no 12+.... it gets a bit murky. Because there are Asian adults that look very young, I'm not quite sure how young, but at least 15 but potentially 12-13, i.e. what westerns people would perceive as early puberty. So they might be less "definitely a child" to Asian, because they simply aren't. Now, intent matters a lot, so if it's written in the story that the character stopped aging at a young age, then the intent is to be a body of a child and is therefore problematic. But if that is omitted, as is the case with some gag characters, it becomes less definitive. One of the more recent debacle is probably Tatsumaki. For starters, I don't think she looks like a child, I don't think there is any actual child that looks like that. She is just petite, which is a thing that exists even in the west but much more common in Asia. And it is not mentioned that she stopped growing at any particular age, though it is plausible(but not even implied) that either her power or the experiment thereof have stunted her physical growth(Given that her little sister grew up fine). So I don't consider her a child, at all. As for her temper... let's be honest, a lot of people in their 20s... or hell, Karens into their middle ages, aren't really better. So unless you are advocating raising age of consent way up and/or requiring someone to prove their maturity somehow, that's not a valid argument. But Kanna, which is persumbly the dragon you are talking about. Yeah, hell no. I see girls like that more like adorable little animals (and humans are animals, in fact our love of adorable animal probably stems from our parental instincts).

I understand banning his google drive account but to the point that even his email and YT was deleted because of that, that is invasion of privacy already. if the drive has broke the terms, then just do ban the drive. every app has its own terms of use. his email might not have the CP file, they should have hold the account and investigated it. I think Google is just being an ASS. they should create a much better algorthmn that would be use if applicable. This what happens when it is free. you get what you paid for.

KZbin provides a service between content creator and viewer. At any point youtube can wipe the content away and not need the content creators approval.

I would always prefer to judge AFTER I see the evidence, and if you have a public drive then that was stupid, especially on the MAIN account that they did all this work on, its HIS account so he needs to take responsibility, there is 100 different sites that could be used for this purpose that doesnt put your own account into a large bullseye. He COULD be innocent and I really hope so, and I have no idea if hes guilty or not, all im saying is going on the offensive with zero evidence seems non sensical

Being a youtuber or streamer was never a job and this is yet another case that backs this up, if dell fired someone because of a bad joke their friend texted them dell would be facing a wrongful termination lawsuit, a pr nightmare, and at minimum the labor board and possibly other 3rd party's would start poking around asking questions.

Absolutely mindboggling stupid to open up your google drive to the public and let people post any files they want on there. That said, Google is being unreasonably stubborn and opaque on their response and is in the wrong for stonewalling and not communicating with the account owner about what happened and possibly re-instate the account after a review. There needs to be government regulation on companies to not just be able to terminate someone's entire livelihood over something as abstract as violating their terms of service. KZbinrs should have labor rights too. Companies have WAY too much control over internet-based professions since the vast majority of those professions rely on operating on private platforms.
