I just got the Helios 18 with i9 14900hx, rtx 4080 and 32gb ram and it's so friggin incredible I love it. The packaging was superb and when I opened it there was no chance for a smooth unboxing as I ravenously ripped it all apart trying to get my hands on then predator inside

I had one of these and had to return it. Idk what was going on but it's heat output was astronomical. I am not new to computers either and did some pretty in depth stuff to try to manage the heat but nothing I did was satisfactory. For example, I open up Unreal Engine 5 and the core temperatures skyrocket to nearly 110°c before throttling down to 95°c. This was after altering a bunch of settings, even in the registry editor. Now I have a ROG Strix 4080 and it's thermals are even better than the famous Lenovo Legion lineup. This means that I get way better performance due to the lack of temp throttling. I may have just got a faulty device but the Predator is knowm for heat issues.

I'm using the Predator Helios 18 with RTX 4090, and so far, it seems to be working fine! A real nice upgrade from my HP OMEN X 16! It's also nice looking at a large screen again after so long.

Why would you want to get a full hd screen for your 4080? The whole purpose of a 4080 graphic is to be able to play games as 2k otherwise a simple 4060 is enough to play full hd

In any high end laptop life of internal components depends on cooling system . Better the thermal system longer will the life and higher will be the performance . So acer , asus , msi , dell and lenovo ???

Hmm from experience, I've always preferred the cooling systems on Asus ROG laptops and Lenovo now has an AI powered performance moderator to help keep the system running at peak performance without running the components too hard so maybe that would help cooling potentially.

@@BIGGFRED. It started throttloling on me even with limiting FPS to 60 ( SINCE NEW) and it just quit. I did open it to take my ssd out and it was quite clean with little dust in the graphics fans. sad.

The internal temps of this laptop will excel 90-100+ degrees celsius. As it did on my i913900hq RTX 4080 variant. It is beyond terrible temp wise.. That's after repasting and having an ITE gt500 cooling pad. Do yourself a favor and get a desktop. best decision i've ever made.
