ASMR Whisper: Mic Test with Candy (Mouth Sounds)

In today's video I eat a candy and test out a new Zoom H1 microphone. Triggers include mouth sounds, crinkling, and whispering. If you dislike mouth sounds, this probably isn't the video for you! Feel free to post your thoughts on the sound quality (clarity, stereo separation, positional effect) as compared to my normal Blue Yeti mic. This isn't so much a mic upgrade as it is a side-grade, but I'm nevertheless curious to hear your opinions!
---- What's ASMR, and why am I whispering? ----
I whisper in my videos because they're intended to trigger a sensation known as ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). ASMR is a very specific feeling that some people experience when they hear certain soft sounds, like whispering and tapping, or see certain visuals, like deliberate hand motions. It's often described as a pleasant tingling in the head and neck, accompanied by a sense of calmness and mild euphoria. Many people watch ASMR videos to help them relax or fall asleep. My mother and sister are both type 1 diabetics, and I've always been very involved with the process. You could call me an honorary diabetic. It's always neat to see what type 1s get up to despite the challenges in their ways. Keep up the good work, you're by far my favorite asmrtist right now!

It's great that you support your family with their conditions. Diabetes can be a challenge, but having somebody that encourages you to live a healthy lifestyle, knows how you start to act when you're getting hypo, can remind you to test regularly...all that stuff is a big help, makes things easier. Welcome to the Zoom H1 club! :D Although I have binaurals, I still use it as a recorder! I often get misophonia from mouth sounds in real life, but they're fine when I watch ASMR videos, it's really weird, haha! Great video! Enjoy your new mic!

It's a pretty versatile little recorder! Tons of features considering the price and the size. The built-in mics aren't too bad either, but it's great that you can plug in externals too. And yes, I'm the same way, I get misphonia from loud mouth sounds or chewing in real life, but I LOVE them in ASMR vids. IRL they make me want to rage, but in a video they relax me. Very strange. Anyway, thanks for watching, really glad you enjoyed it :D

OMG, close your mouth when you chew, don't talk and eat, I really hate mouth sounds but regardless of the title and audio warning I still listened and its not my fault. Now that's the eventual comment thread out the road;) Mouth sounds are actually one of my oldest triggers relating back to early childhood, very soothing. Love the mic quality also, more dynamic and there is depth. As always, great video, thank you. .

Funny enogh I have hated mouth and eating sounds more than average hater for all of my life but I found it to be biggest trigger for me. It felt so confusing at start to listen these videos. Anyone here like this?

Haha you're not alone man. Loud chewing sounds drive me nuts, I remember back in the day my little bro would stand behind me watching me play video games while eating something and it would make me rage. But when it's an ASMR video, suddenly it's a major trigger and incredibly relaxing. I have no explanation for it, all I know is I like mouth sounds videos :P
