In this interview Omar Sharif discusses working in Russia, his relationship with his mother and his long time live in house keeper along with other anecdotes from his career and a truly memorable story about when he was held at gunpoint by a female fan who wanted to make love to him in his hotel room in Dallas, Texas.

I have two half-Egyptian cousins and their father is Egyptian. I asked him once who is the greatest actor of all time and he said without hesitating, OMAR SHARIF. He is. He is. Sharif played such a wide range of roles in movies: the Arab sheikh in Lawrence of Arabia, Dr Zhivago, Barbra Streisand’s irresponsible husband in Funny Girl, so many others. And he was persuasive in all of them.
