The problem is that school is mostly boring, useless and a general waste of time (except possibly to get into University). I reckon most parents miss this simple issue. Things need to be fun, and things needs to have a reason for doing something.

Learning is fun. Studying and rote memorization is not.

I love your videos. We are just starting this journey with our 12 year old daughter. How you break things down and explain is absolutely amazing. You have taken such a weight off our shoulders. Thank you thank you

I'm exactly the same, I'm almost 16 and haven't been in school since I was 12. The actual school bullied me out of the system and I hate learning pointless crap when I have a strong interest in something SCHOOL DOESN'T EVEN TEACH.

The best description of how kids with Asperger's use computer games is as a "thought blocker". It's a means of dispersing the anxiety of school work etc. by focussing on something else

If it wasn't for that leaf in your picture I wouldn't be here. Suicide is no joke when taking pharmaceutical drugs. I've never even came close to killing myself on marijuana. But anti depressants made me feel like I didn't want to live.

There's Montessori schools in the U.S. too but they cost as much as a college education. If they weren't so expensive (even with financial aid) I would have gone to one. They're not recognized as real schools by the state so they don't get funding.

It a shame it costs a fortune here too! I think the only way to get the education we need for our children is to enlighten current educators it's in their best interest to adopt these methods xx

I don't know about Montessori schools these days, but the one I went to was horribly unstructured. I would constantly ask to be taught new things, the teacher would beg off, then I'd just do the same small set of activities every day so I could have free time. It equipped me with no skills or strategies for success. It wasn't until my Master's program that I learned to study.

Then smoke marijuana that's what I had to do because swallowing pills was really hard for me. Unless your underage then maybe try CBD. I don't believe in doctor prescribed medicine. Because they always put me on things that made me feel like I was crazy and didn't want to live. Soon as I stop taking doctor prescribed medicine. Then started taking kratom and marijuana and I don't have to take any pills. Now my blood pressure is lower I'm in better shape. I can actually poop so I'm not always light headed feeling. I can't stand pharmaceutical companies making us think plants are bad and man made products are good for you. I've never attempted suicide on plants. But have on pharmaceuticals.

In other words, it's about parents being idiots as usual. They only have you to feel "normal" as a family and not to raise you. 'Cause if the latter was the case, we wouldn't have to have this discussion.

I'm great at homework but sucked at school work. I am used to being home so I didn't have to be around people at home. So I could lock myself in my room and block out the world with headphones. So then I could focus on my task at hand. There's to many distractions in school for me to actually learn. They wouldn't accomidate to my sight issues. So I couldn't see anything on the overhead or chalkboard. So it was like I was just in school to have anxiety issues. I did great in math and PE. But anytime the class was about sitting and listening the whole time I didn't know how to comprehend what was going on. I would get in trouble alot talking. But all I was doing was asking what was going on. But your not allowed to ask for help. Unless you look like an inbred special needs person. People don't believe you have Aspergers just cause you don't fit there critique of what autism looks like. I was told all my life I have ADHD or GAD or PTSD. But this whole time I had Aspergers. They didn't have this condition when I was in school. You had special needs classes. But if you passed the special needs test with a good score they didn't think you needed special needs. I learn better alone then with people. Being sight impaired on top of aspergers gives you extra anxiety that someone with aspergers who could see wouldn't have as much. When you can't see discription then all you see is shape and all the body language can get misconstrued because you can't really see there facial expression. So you think everybody hates you. I've had this feeling my whole life.
