In my opinion, the 401 extension through Windsor is the most aesthetically-pleasing of the 400-series highways, and the one that gives me the greatest American-style vibe.

David Acosta I definitely agree. The 401 through Windsor is pretty unique. It’s Ontario’s 696.

So happy to see more and more exposed concrete pavements on Ontario's highways. I don't see many concrete only freeways when visiting besides the 407 and the small stretches of concrete on the 402 and 401. I also can't wait to see structures finally being erected on the US side for the Gordie Howe Bridge. Last I've checked, it's just a fenced in area with some construction with utility relocations. I know MDOT and the WDBA is getting their offices and people prepared for this big project! Anyways, thanks for the update on the Canadian side and as always, great video!

Thanks for the comment. I too wish that more segments of highways in Ontario were surfaced in concrete. From the renderings I've seen the Gordie Howe Bridge is going to be awesome on the US side. I look forward to seeing it completed as well.

Never been down there before, but that looks like an fun drive. And that’s a LOT of wind turbines around Tilbury/Lakeshore area. Awesome! Cool video!

Great video and nice music, trance is an awesome genre to drive to

i know, I love trance music for driving videos. I actually have a hard time watching videos that use more conventional music -- the experience just isn't the same.

I listen to rock music when I drive in my own car. But I find these type of driving videos need up temp stuff for me to enjoy them.

Pretty soon with the new bridge you could drive from Quebec to Florida without changing roads

Can't wait until they will have Gordie Howe International Bridge to open up in late 2024 to connect I-75 in Detroit Michigan to Ontario Highway 401 in LaSalle (south of Windsor) Ontario.

me neither. The Gordie Howe Bridge is going to be my preferred route into the US once it's done.

When all the work is done and a direct highway link between Detroit and Toronto is established, it’ll be awesome. Hopefully I see it in my lifetime 🙄😂

Highway 401 is a Lovely Six-Lane Freeway between these cities, but if you Drive on Highway 401 through Windsor, there are so many Lights and Especially so many Tunnels :/ Why was it Built like this through Windsor?
@AsphaltPlanet13 жыл бұрын
The 401 displaced a lot of homes, and also a native prairie grass natural habitat, the tunnels were constructed as a way to provide new prairie grass habitat as well as to reduce the impact of the highway from the residents of Windsor that remained in it's vicinity.

Was wondering when you would upload again. xd So it ain't just A-20 that's being turned into concrete in the 20-401 corridor, the MTO is doing that as well. Nice. If only it was recycled plastic instead so that it's environmentally friendly. xd

concrete must be cheap or something in southwestern Ontario. The bulk of Ontario's concrete surfaced highways are located there. Thanks for the comment.
@dontgetlost40785 жыл бұрын
@@AsphaltPlanet1 Concrete cheaper? Weird. Imo there must be a lot more traffic near the border with USA.
@AsphaltPlanet15 жыл бұрын
the prices of materials and equipment is less in certain areas of the province than it is in others. I'm sure that concrete is still far more expensive (initially) than asphalt, but concrete is probably less expensive in southwestern Ontario than it is in other regions of the province.
