This new study about low-dose aspirin is interesting and some of us "old people" may have to keep taking it. While it is effective against heart problems and ischemic stroke, my mother and her grandfather died young from hemorrhagic strokes. Low-dose aspirin is thought to increase the risk of this rarer stroke. But, I keep taking it because I have the gene mutation Factor V Leiden. Having had COVID fairly bad, the outcomes in a study by Mass General found that people with this gene mutation were likely to have bad outcomes. The low-dose aspirin has probably helped me while sitting for hours at my computer or on longer plane flights. Anyone suffering from anemia though, may already have some GI bleeding and should be checked out.

Praise God for His Love that flows through you to bless, Dr. Marcum. I love spending time listening with you. I pray for a Christ-centred mentor like you. You remind me of my GP years ago whom saved my life by prescribing Bible verses to me instead of the tablets i was asking for. 18 Years later and I'm about to start residency myself. I pray every day for Jesus' Strength to be a medic like you who puts God first. It's not easy to be alone on this. I'm so thankful i found your channel and i listen to your podcast when i do test questions, so that i can be better at loving on the patients. Thank you so much.

At 73, my doctor advised me to start taking the 81 mg baby aspirin to help with flushing from the Niacin he ordered to help reduce my cholesterol. It definitely has helped and I appreciate knowing it can give me a little more protection from clots.

I have a question, my husband has I T P. A blood disorder which causes your platelets not to clot, It's viral induced. However he has had a heart attack some time after this condition accord.He takes baby aspirin everyday because of his stints. Because of these two conditions, it makes him bleed more.The doctor said he needs to take it because of the stints.I have heard of Willow Bark and was wondering if you think this would be better for him then regular baby aspirin.

I had a positive test in mid-Sept and still don't have my sense of smell back and don't have the same energy level as before. Some studies show that a third of people can still have these symptoms after 12 weeks, so you might need to keep eating healthy. I saw one study that said that the sense of smell problem was due to receptors in the nose and not any changes to the brain, so the researchers suggested smelling something you like to smell twice daily for about 20 seconds to retrain your nose. I am trying it.

What about aspirin induced gastrointestinal bleeding? I was on a baby aspirin per day, which was recommended by my doctor due to my age at the time, and I still had a heart attack. This happened a couple years after we started working on improving out diet. After having the latest bug, it was suggested that I go back on the baby aspirin. I chose to go another route with cayenne pepper daily.

Mom is 78, since many years ago she takes 1 aspirin 81mg daily on prescription for her ulcerated leg. I took it when I got covid in 2020 because I felt breathless, probably a clot derived of the virus, it helped me, without it I think I wouldn't make it

Question, my girls have had the chicken pox vaccine and have never gotten it. Do you know if the shot protects them from Reye Syndrome with the taking of aspirin if they have a temperature? I have asked several doctors and to this point none have known the answer to this. I have started an aspirin protocol 2 weeks before my daughter’s COVID 2nd shot and plan to do 2 weeks after to prevent a stroke. Thank you for the information and especially the Bible verse.
@amandagraham26853 жыл бұрын
Other viral infections can also be linked to Reye’s syndrome in children who take aspirin. It may be a good idea to talk to the pediatrician as it relates to the shot.
