I feel like this encapsulates a huge problem with Ubisoft. We needed sequels for Connor, Shay, Arno, and Bayek. The reason Ezio and Altair are so beloved is because they were given the sequels to fully develop their characters and tell their stories. Ac 3 felt like the first act in Connor’s journey. A journey that will likely never get its proper ending. I feel the same way about Bayek as well in particular. Instead of constantly changing time periods and settings for a gimmick, Ubisoft should try and tell the stories of these characters properly

@@lucian6273 Sadly, Ubisoft cares only what the new fans like, not the old ones. I want the same as you, man. But honestly, wouldn't It be awesome if a unique game with all those characters would be the final chapter of this saga? Assassin's creed V maybe? I'm waiting to finish AC Black Flag's book to propose an idea of mine to Ubisoft.

It’s funny how I played this game when it released so long ago as a young teen. And now as a young man, I truly understand the struggles of Connor. He truly was the shadow to the tree, both vengeful and moralistic. Rest easy Connor, I miss you as if you were my own brother.

And now me right here, as a teen, i always have pain in my heart whenever i hear about Connor. Believe me, he became like a real person to me, his story is so real and accurate that it makes me feel like he really did live in the past, and all those events are real. Honestly, Connor has a big and special place in my heart, whether true or not, his story is so real and perhaps alot of people had the same things going on with their lives in the past.. And i'm talking abt native Americans, away from the assassin stuff... It's funny how video games can have a great impact on us, perhaps sometimes even change our way of thinking. And Ubisoft did a great job making that. Sorry if i wrote a lot. Just wanted to share my thoughts, Brother.

Edward got to live happily for a time, Ezio did, so did Altair, and Arno. What did Bayek and Connor get for all their troubles? For the two men who founded the brotherhood and rebuilt it in the Americas respectively, it’s beyond cruel they never got a sliver of happiness for their sacrifices.

@khajiitimanus74322 жыл бұрын
Life can be... beyond cruel. Life can be torturous, depressingly lonely, and despairing; it can be harsh, cold, and thoroughly stressful. Whether animal, plant, creature, or whatever between; whether sentient, sapient, both, or neither.... All living beings inherently have the compacity to reflect life's dark cruelty. And... yet.... life can be nurturing. Life can be warming, soothing, and inspirational; it can be comforting, beautiful, and serenely relaxing.... Life is a construct capable of dark just as much as light, with no black or white to it. This beautiful light can be twisted as a guise for manipulation, and the cruel dark can teach how to survive long enough to see and respect the beauty.... People have their own perspectives and beliefs. Life is extraordinarily variable, and so the things given life are extraordinarily variable. No two dogs are ever exactly alike, no two fish can ever be perfectly identical, and no two intelligent minds will ever be the same. Some people will let the dark take a firm hold, and some will let the light distract and veer them off course - it is important to recognize that the light is just as dangerous as the dark, and that the dark is just as helpful as the light. Life forces us to struggle in the dark, so that we can better appreciate the light; life gives us light, so that we can brave the dark. One day, we will die. All lights will sputter out eventually, and with the lights gone, so will the dark fade away without light to define it. But before that comes... life and all gifted with it have the capability to experience and know happiness. That happiness may never be perfect - it may be soured or tainted by the backdrop of despair - but it will be there for us... whether we take happiness in family, with friends, perhaps in success, or something else entirely. One day, I will find someone who I may share the rest of this life's days alongside. I can only hope that such a person would be happy alongside me, and that we would stick by each other until the bittersweet and merciful end. Whoever that person may be, whether I have met you or not, know that I love you. To the random readers I have tossed this comment into the sea of the internetwork for, I love all of you too - though, maybe not quite in the same way, hehe. Life is a beautiful thing - please, cherish it with all that you have. There is a meaning to the suffering, and there is always a release afterwards - be not enamored only by misfortune. Cherish life with all that you can; take comfort from around you, wherever that is and whenever you are able. I love you all, one way or another.

I think you can perfectly feel the bitterness of connor when at the end of the game he discovers that nothing has really changed and that his people have had to go anyway, the bitterness of having won the battle to what seems to no avail, of having killed his father when with hindsight perhaps they could have established a relationship, although the song is related to the game pe so it fits well even at the end of the book after connor has read his father's diary.
@efrainsoto96 Жыл бұрын
"My father left those for me. Mother, Father, I am sorry. I have failed you both. I made a promise to protect our people. I thought…I thought if I could stop the templars-if I could keep the Revolution free from their influence-that those I supported would do what was right. They did-I suppose-do what was right… What was right for them. As for you, Father: I thought I might unite us, that we would forget the past and forge a better future. In time I believed you could be made to see the world as I did; to understand…but it was just a dream. This too, I should have known. Were we not meant to live in peace, then? Is that it? Are we born to argue? To fight? So many voices, each demanding something else… It has been hard at times, but never harder than today to see all I worked for; perverted, discarded, forgotten! You would say I have described the whole of history, Father. Are you smiling, then? Hoping I might speak the words you long to hear? To validate you? To say that all along, you were right? I will not. Even now, faced as I am with the truth of your cold words, I refuse, because I believe things can still change. I may never succeed-the Assassin's may struggle another thousand years in vain-but we will not stop! Compromise. That is what everyone has insisted upon. And so I have learned it. But differently than most, I think… I realize now that it will take time; that the road ahead is long, and shrouded in darkness. It is a road that will not always take me where I wish to go, and I doubt I will live to see its end. But I will travel down it nonetheless. For at my side walks hope. In the face of all that insists I turn back, I carry on. This… This is my compromise."

4:00 is my favorite because it's that beautiful voice that comes in as soon as Connor stabs Charles Lee. I feel as if that stab was all the pain and frustration finally coming to an end for Connor's story. Beautiful work. :)
@dastemplar96812 жыл бұрын
My favorite part in the whole game. We see a fully developed Master Assassin Connor finally catching up to the man he has devoted his entire life into hunting. But instead of taking his vengeance. He quietly shares a somber final drink with his enemy out of respect. He doesn’t kill Lee because of his drive for vengeance, he kills him respectfully out of practicality; Lee’s a Templar, Connor’s an Assassin, nothing more. Really shows how much Connor has matured in his development. He no longer lets emotions dictate his actions, now he lets the Creed dictate his. Even Lee took notice of that during his final moments. He now respects Connor as an Assassin, his enemy.

@@frederickjalbert3298 what? Ezio grew up a privileged playboy who then saw his family murdered at 17. Connor was 4-5 when his village burnt and saw his mother burn alive. He met Achilles when he was 14 to train and become an assassin. He then had to kill his childhood friend because the Templars were swaying his people to fight against Washington, and so his friend believed Connor was a traitor when he intervened. He then had to kill his own father. In the end, after all he had done in support of his people, they still had to go someplace else, and so he was all alone in the end. The revelation that all we fought for was fruitless in the end, the fact that brilliant people sometimes don’t get a happy ending, and that there is no good or evil.
