I mirror this opinion, my only exception is like basic land cards. Honestly if they made a box of say 100 or 500 basic land cards full art you can buy from these sets I would be on it. I absolutely adore some of the fallout basic lands.

IMO, they look great. I was able to read all of them despite the blurriness of the video image. I would get them if I could afford it.

The secret lairs are perfectly legible. I get they're not the most intuitive, but I could still read them just fine. I'm not sure why you're having trouble reading them. I do also think they are just good designs in general and fit the theme very well. Secret lairs are collectors items first and foremost, and while I do agree they should still be playable, I don't see the problem with these in particular.

Im sorry but the only one i can see issues with is blade of selves because players may not always remember myriad. Other than that they not only fit thematically with assassins creed but also look very good. Its 1,000 times better than what they did with the Jurassic Park secret lair. Man that was so bad.

@@BensonMTG yeah all the dinosaurs didn't match with the art thematically. Etali which is a spinosaurus was changed into rexy, wayward sword tooth was turned into a triceratops which had a beak, regisaur alpha was a Trex turned into a spinosaurus, and colossal dreadmaw the iconic mtg trex was a brachiosaurus. Finally the indominus is a poly raptor which isn't bad until you realize the whole card is blue for a green creature. It seemed like all the arts got mixed up and just thematically didn't work. It seemed like every other secret lair that was tied to a UB product actually had care put into it besides that dumb LoTR secret lair.

I'm a fan, the only one I don't really like is the darksteel plate. The art doesn't do enough to evoke plate I think. Won't be picking them up as I would only consider secret lair for a really juicy reprint. Or, in theory, some theme or crossover I really like but that hasn't happened yet.

@@BensonMTG An example of the kind of reprint I mean would be Teferi's Protection in the Sheldon Menery Secret Lair. I know with that example people had other good reasons to purchase it but if I needed one for commander I would consider picking it up. Same with something like Cyclonic Rift. For me personally I'm not actually sure, card wise. It would have to be Mox Opal I think. (They already did it in a secret lair once when the price was much lower so I'm not hopeful). I could imagine being temepted by the right cross over as well but one doesn't spring to mind.

honestly these are way easier to read than most secret lairs. at least the placement of the text is pretty intuitive

@@BensonMTG Then I tell them what the card is. I dont know about you, but its pretty common for people to ask what the card is and ask what it does in commander... I don't have 30,000 cards memorized. Another point... store championship cards have always been heavily sought after and those dont have ANY words legible or not. No one has ever complained about playing those cards in their decks. However, now when there is a SL card with some crazy font or something people freak out. Don't you think maybe this is a little sensational and over blown? I run the new poker SL cards in a few decks and some of those have a ton of writing that just isn't even on the card. I keep a plain text version of the card in my sideboard/tokens just in case I need to quickly reference the text. There are also plenty of people at my store who literally print of cards on crappy ink jet printers and stick the paper sheet into a sleeve as a proxy. Those things are 100% illegible from anywhere other than 6 inches from your face.. Guess what no one is up in arms about it. We just ask, what is that card, what does it do, and worse case we reference the card text on your phone if needed. This is all very common in most commander games I've played. I play at multiple stores and on spell table... This is normal, expected, and not at all a problem. The only "problem" exists in content creators and reddit warriors who just complain about everything.

L take, compare these to something like the scarab god secret lair, because that is LITERALLY unreadable. These are very easy to read, but I guess you redditurds are upset because its something cool you have to spend a bit of extra money to get instead of it coming out of a booster.
