Monster Hunter seems to be the only franchise I can still trust if you don't know what it is. I highly recommend checking it out, and you don't need to start at the beginning to fallow the games. The new one is scheduled to come in February

I know Yasuke, the black samurai, is all the rage right now... But being an "assassin" means you have to blend in. Pretty darn hard as a foreigner with very different skin color, even in modern Japan. Also, duels between samurai were about as common as showdowns at high noon in Dodge city. In other words, movies over exaggerated and romanticized them.

Lets be real Assassin's Creed Shadows issues are far deeper than technicals. Pushing fake facts that Yasuke is a samurai, normalizing discriminate against asian men, copying sword designs and enactment group flags, misspell Kanji in the collector edition, disrespecting the Japanese and Japan's culture by including a symbol of the Nagasaki nuclear bombing; and many more. Diversity should be about providing equal opportunity NOT equal outcome. But they only want equal outcome by making a black protagonist but they literally dont want equal opportunity by having a gender specific for their coding scholarship in real life.

I really wonder if you be soft is reconsidering one of its protagonists yusake (sp?) It’s the first time they based it on a real person and allegedly they got it really wrong in the sense that he wasn’t really a samurai according to many scholars. I’m actually willing to give them Mulligan on that even if they’re wrong because he looks bada$$ as heck in the trailers. But I think they could dispel a lot of it just by changing him to a fictional character but otherwise keep the character the same. As far as buying on day one? I have long said to people “never buy a game for more than 20 bucks.” There are three reasons for this. First, you can buy three $20 games for the price of one $70 game and have some change left over. Second it puts you in a better state of mind because it didn’t blow such a big hole in your wallet. And finally by the time it reaches $20, they have usually ironed out most of the bugs I’m not saying I never break that rule but I usually stick it pretty close And the only time you can persuade me to spend a little more is if I really feel confident in the studio and good reviews. So for instance I was perfectly happy shelling out full price for ghost of Tsushima, knowing that sucker punch was good about producing games with very few bugs and based on reviews. And in that particular case, let’s just say that someone in my family claims to be descended from samurai 😜 And I wasn’t disappointed. In fact I remember seeing a bug early in there that self corrected. I remember getting stuck for a moment on the geography when I tried to make a jump that I guess the game didn’t want me to make for a moment I was stuck hanging in the air. And I thought to myself “oh crap, I wonder how much progress I’m gonna lose cause I’m gonna have to restart this” but then the game just deposited me back on normal ground. It detected the problem and fixed it. Seriously they put *love* into that game.

You don’t seem to understand, It’s perfectly fine to have diversity, but it have to make sense in certain stories in game. There are also characters that have been blackwashing characters just for diversity, which is a stupid reason to do so. Ubisoft could of picked a native fictional male charcter just like for their others games but instead choose a non fictional black character for Japan which is new. To me if they wanted to use Yasuke then ig that’s fine but they are the one who saying that his an actual “legendary” samurai and claim that what they are doing in the game is historical accuracy despite many errors that are pointed out by gamers.

The thing is that he is no “legendary” or even a samurai, there are no evidence of this. Tbh it’s fine to make him a samurai but just don’t say that he is historical “accuracy”. The thing is if they want a legendary samurai, then they could have pick an actual native Japanese samurai that’s legendary as their main character or they can just create their own fictional Japanese male character who is a legendary samurai. Like I said, it’s fine to have diversity but they are going against force diversity into entertainment media. I’ve noticed that majority of white charcters are race swap to black characters which I don’t understand why? I’m sure it’s just for diversity which is dumb.
