Thinking a Ubisoft game is going to be good in 2024 is the ultimate cope. Even if it wasn't obvious woke trash pandering for DEI, It's UBISOFT. The only money maker they have right now is Siege, and that is a what? 9, 10 year old game? They NEED it to be successful. That doesn't mean it WILL be successful. Personally, I want them to fail, because Fuck Ubisoft. They're one of the most dishonest publishers in the AAA gaming scene, second only to EA. They absolutely DO NOT deserve the benefit of the doubt. If they go under, maybe it'll set off warning bells to the rest of the AAA publishers, nd they'll start majorly course correcting as if their lives depended on it. I think the game is gonna be forgotten about in a couple months..it won’t be terrible it just won’t be anything special..it has no interesting characters overpriced content with pay walled extra content and then they ride the yasuke train because of the “anime”. The main con is that it’s an assassin’s creed title and assassin’s creed hasn’t been good since Black Flag. They traded passion story and quality for wokeness money and gimmicks.

I do have a bit of faith, as AC mirage was actually a pretty fun game. Yasuke does have historical precident, and it seems to actually have viable stealth unlike in valhalla (Which I enjoy, just not as an ac game) and Oddysey. I would save any criticism of it's message, gameplay, or quality, until after it releases tbh, I think it's genuinely stupid to call something amazing or terrible without the thing in question having even been made or released.

To be honest I think the game is screwed, the trailer makes me think of a super hero movie not so much a serious samurai themed game. I think ghost of tsushima is a decent representation of what ive kinda always wanted from assassin's creed especially if it was to go to japan.

The only issue I had is that every other entry had you play someone native to the land who wasn't a real historical figure. Yasuke being in the game is fine and dandy, but I feel both main characters should have been 100% Japanese.

The inclusion of Yasuke and the setting will be great. A black samurai just sounds bad ass. Too bad its a Ubisoft game. That's what's gonna be bad about it. The same retreaded, unchanged, uninspiring gameplay loop with rpg mechanics that simply make the games blend even more in the oversaturated market. I think people need to pull their heads out of their asses and complain about things that matter, like being fed the gameplay equivalent of McDonalds for 70$.

I still feel burned out on the entire franchise after valhalla, i wasn't a fan of the rpg style, grindy gameplay they introduced with origins, it made odyssey unplayable for me and made valhalla my own personal purgatory. Given that their idea lf "returning to their roots" still includes the rpg mechanics should be enough of a clue as to how much they actually care about their own franchise.

AC truly died after origins. This will flop like the rest. Ubisoft never changes, either they sacrifice gameplay for quality of narrative, or they sacrifice narrative for gameplay. No in between.
