Someone said it in previous comments before. This trilogy casts over everything that came after as the most glorious bench mark. I've never felt so connected to a game character. The actor/actors? Playing ezio should really have some love thrown their way as they captured our hearts and minds with a human story in a mad world with huge things going on. Ubisoft captured lightning in a bottle and then let it go. To me, the biggest loss in modern gaming history

Love each reaction to the messages ezio receives in each game First in ac2 he is confused and asking questions In brotherhood he is contempt with the message as is as he knows its not for him And revelations where he talks directly with Desmond passing on his own knowledge Same reason I like playing ac black flag as well as I find Edward finding his own path really nice to go through as he isn't even an assassin but slowly becomes one through his whole journey and I would of likes a sequel building his brotherhood and seeing him evolve from fresh assassin to one of the mentors of his time like ezio did before him

10 years later and Ezio is still the most charismatic and romantic protagonist of this franchise. Edward is a really close second, but he was charming in a different way I suppose. Jacob is also an entertainer through and through lmao. But yeah, there's something about Ezio's character that just seems to remain unmatched.
@Arcanelake98 Жыл бұрын
You hit the nail on the head. All the other protagonists are stoic hotheads.
@awsome182 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Some people complain that protagonists like Connor are generally not as well liked as Ezio and claim that people only want an Ezio clone and that people like Ezio more because he has confidence and charisma. Well, duh, newsflash, confidence and charisma are the most attractive traits a person can have (on first glance). And some characters like Connor don't have any confidence and charisma. I personally found him awkward, naive and boring. We don't need Ezio clones. Confidence and charisma can be shown in many ways. Bayek for example has confidence and charisma, but he's completely different compared to Ezio.

It really is something of a Shakespearean tragedy in how this series rose so far so quickly… and then fell so far over such a long period of time. It had in it the makings to be one of the greatest video game series of all time in terms of overall narrative quality, with Desmond having the potential to be one of the most popular and beloved video game characters of all time at the end of his arc… but it wasn’t to be. Desmond, like the franchise, was killed before they had their heyday and while Revelations was surely the first peak of AC, it would also sadly be the last peak of the series. 3 would derail it, 4 would attempt to reclaim it but to no avail… and then it’s all downhill from there. This was a fascinating time in which after Ezio, AC could have gone beyond him to be something truly and consistently special but because of how badly they Ubi’d it, it was never actually able to do that and the shadow of these games looms over all their successors still. Not because of blind nostalgia or attachment to one character but because of the care and passion put into every aspect of this series from the writing to the world building to the mysteries regarding the POEs and TOWCB to the philosophies of the two groups to the historical immersion to the gameplay to the music to seemingly every part of these games meticulously developed to be something we never had before, and have never had since. But that was a long time ago, and we’re never getting those days back… which leaves us with only one thing to say; Requiescat In Pace, Assassin’s Creed.

Those days were getting boring that's why they change it combat sucked so bad in the first games

Nobody liked Desmond, I’ve played AC since the release of AC1 directors cut in 2009, been very involved with the community and played every game on release, and I can tell you right now nobody liked Desmond until he died, he didn’t have potential to be “one of the best characters in gaming”, that’s just a loud of bullshit honestly, your whole comment feels like you’ve been brainwashed by mainstream AC KZbinrs like LazerzZ, 3 was an alright game, however it was directly compared to ezio trilogy, along with the character and gameplay, it was critiqued wrongfully by having every aspect compared to its predecessor, they criticism was basically “it isn’t ezio, it isn’t good”, and AC4 is one of the best games in the whole franchise, it took assassins creed and gave us a new step, it evolved the parkour, did devolve some things, and it also gave us a fantastic pirate story to go with the main dish, along with pirate gameplay The games were getting boring by having the same formula and same gameplay over and over again with every game, ezio games declined in sales by each release, they had to give us something new, they finally changed shit up with Unity, and then messed it up with Syndicate, and then gave us Origins which is arguably one of the best games in the franchise and has an amazing lead, though at times poorly written his character is just so charismatic and ambitious that you can directly compare bayek to ezio, please stop writing this bullshit and acting like ezio games are godsent, they have their very evident flaws, both in writing and overall gameplay, have an open mind with the games

I was playing the game wrong towards the end. I was playing it like the new games thinking that the mechanics were off but it was just that I'd got so used to games with shallow gameplay. This collection is craving for that 60FPS update on next gen consoles

It already runs at 60 on the Series X and it plays great. Too bad PlayStation doesn’t care about old games to have an fps boost like Xbox.

That intro, I’m the same way I feel Unity was the last good AC everything after didn’t grasp me and just felt well… different. The ps3 era AC games just had a connection with the characters and the more recent ones don’t hit the same I will always love AC

Ezio's Brotherhood robes are awesome. When Ubisoft includes Ezio's robes in games I wish they used Brotherhood's more than 2.

I wonder to this day almsot every evening that how this franchise ended up where it is now. And that is the information what only God knows and every time I'm thinking about this I get to the same point that maybe the triology was the highest point the franchise could've reached. And I know there were so many good ideas like how they introduced Shao Jun and how Chronicles: China played out, and I know that there are still new and new idead people come up with but actually I think the Core AC ideology is complete in the first game. There's no more thing that could fit in there. The Rzio triolgy is Of Course brilliant (and it made my life, and my personality better) but it is still "just" the story of a man who at the end realises that he didn't choose this life, it chose him. And also in the later games they are just trying to create more and more good stories but except perhaps for Black Flag there's not even any. The only reason why Assassin's Creed is (in theory) on because of money and more money, literally just endless money. They don't even think about that the old players who know the good ol' days are not even playing the new releases. Just the young children and an unfortunately amount of human who didn't like the stealthy aspect of the old games and only want EPIC Misthios Odysseys (I don't know the plural version of this word I'm sorry :P) EPIC Viking Sagas. My advice for all the angry and sad people, (whose group I am also in) is to just get over it. I know it is easier to say than do but I try to do that myself too, every single day. And remember these great first AC, the Ezio games, maybe 3 and 4, if you also see them as nostalgic but for me they are only the first four. The history shows that the real masterpieces are coming how fast, like Assassin's Creed, and how fast are gone. If you've read this pretty long comment through then thank you and have a great day and a fantastic weekend. :)

I agree. Ac3, 4 and Origins were good games, but the first 4 were great by a longshot and for me personally the only games, that count as "Assassins Creed".

Thank you for being the most KZbin logical when it comes to the Ubisoft thing. I don't like it either but I LOVE Assassins Creed and I hate that it gets put in crossfire.

I would put 2018 God of War right up there with these games.
@SamuraiSilverhand2 жыл бұрын
@@LLFoolJ definitely, it was a much needed release. Especially as the industry was focusing heavily on endless battle royale multiplayer experiences at the time. My only gripe with GoW 2018 is that I feel it fell too heavy into the XP/Crafting/Collectable grind. I was a big fan of the OG trilogy and it seemed I had to go out of my way too much to become the OP Kratos I grew up with.

Unpopular opinion If you liked black flag: Black flag is as much AC as Odyssey & Vallhalla. It's not AC at all, in fact it's just a story of a man who ended up becoming a pirate.
@awsome182 Жыл бұрын
Actually, it's a man who became a pirate and then ended up becoming an Assassin because of his own free will.
